If people aren't bitching about things that don't matter - they are calling each other obscene names and being internet tough guys.
It's gotten really old really fast. It's sad what the internets has become lately.
I am ecstatic that Q is the only Olineman that has gotten pushed to ground....I'm rooting for him. But, on one play, he got pushed into the backfield and while he was laying on the ground, it appeared like Watson banged his ankle on DQ's helmet and was slow getting up.
I'm not sure it was a lack of strength or he got off balance, but it didn't look good.

No reason for the useless, sarcastic post. I guess you missed the part where I wished DQ well and also mentioned he might have been off balance.
badboy, I hope I took it correctly that you were sarcastic meaning to point to the horrendous play of all the Oline.......not to specifically point to DQ.
In reality, Earl34, an Olineman losing balance is commonly caused by lack of strength........not being able to hold up against his D opponent.
If he doesn't make it here I think he'll be on somebodys team this year, either their 53 or their Practice squad. longer term time will tell.If Quessenberry doesn't make it to the final 53 I feel that the Texans org., to their credit, has handled things so that his future is assured.

Right on target Doc..it seemed bit silly to me to identify one play of a guy coming back from cancer when nothing said to qualify that other linemen had issues with no history of illness. Perhaps the entire o line needs strength conditioning as only game 1 of preseason.badboy, I hope I took it correctly that you were sarcastic meaning to point to the horrendous play of all the Oline.......not to specifically point to DQ.

Quessenberry cut.
I'm assuming he still has PS eligibility if they choose to go that route.
I hope we're able to keep him on the PS then.

That would be nice.......and let him be slipped into the regular roster for at least 1 play. But as I've said before, he did not show good strength in the preseason, something that because of what he has gone through may never be able to be retrieved. It has been pointed out that he has apparently built up sizable muscle this year. However, what many fail to understand is that they tend to equate big muscles with being strong and powerful............and unfortunately they are definitely not equal.
DQ back on practice squad
and $7,200 per week isn't shabby..well it isn't for me..That's what he really needs. They kept putting him on IR. Can't get into the shape & experience he needs to on IR. I don't know if he'll ever make the team, but this is going to help.

If his body is fundamentally broken, the. It's not what he needs it's just a wasted PS spot.
There's been a lot of time energy and resource put into a guy who wasn't a high draft pick to start with and at what point are they doing a feel good thing and not a football thing?
We passed that point when we put him on the practice squad. He's in remission now so if he's not a legit option to help this team, then he needs to put his degree to use and they should've saved that spot for someone who potentially can help us in the future.

$375,000 to practice with NFL team over a J-O-B? I know why he is staying but not why team's putting him on PS.We passed that point when we put him on the practice squad. So do I..if they're going to keep you around why not, I just don't know why they're keeping him around.
Why are they keeping any of them around? Has Q been officially deemed worthless or something I don't know about?

I share Doc's opinion that it's highly unlikely that he'll ever regain the physical strength to be a decent option in this league, but hey that's just my opinion. I've been through the chemo before and know the toll it can take on your body. But I'm not the one who gets paid to make the decisions so my opinions don't matter, but that won't stop me from expressing them![]()
I've also been through the chemo before, and know the drain it puts on a body. But that is not going to say it is forever or cannot be overcome.
Willpower is awesome, amazing things can be achieved. Hope is beautiful
Q Is on the practice squad taking a spot from a potential future HOFer.............NO
The real me....some of you kill me.
Has anyone considered, that while he may not recover sufficient strength for a power blocking scheme, he may be better suited for zone blocking where agility and quickness and movement skills are required rather than strength. What kind of blocking scheme is better suited to Watson's skill set? This year is Savage's. But next year we will have to start shaping the offense to fit Watson.I share Doc's opinion that it's highly unlikely that he'll ever regain the physical strength to be a decent option in this league, but hey that's just my opinion. I thought Watson was the dawn of a new era. That doesn't mean we will go to a zone scheme next year or shape the offense to fit Watson.. given the teams M.O. we'll continue to try to pound a square peg into a round hole. When has this team every tried to scheme to utilize a player's strengths? For example look at Lamar Miller, we consistently grossly misuse him and don't use him nearly enough in the passing game.
