Dancin' Chad: " Wait until you see what I do this Sunday"

Relax? I'm not uptight.

Arguing? I'm not arguing, either.

Nice assumptions on your part. You've made it into an artform, actually....speaking out of your assumption and all that.

Forums are for respectfully expressing one's opinion....and trolling if you're a Bengals fan. :heh: (btw, any reason you feel the need to troll our forum instead of hanging at your own team's?)

I've got nothing against Chad Johnson. Dude's got talent. I've never disputed that, and I've never attacked him personally.

I just don't dig showboating. The greatest of the greats in the NFL did NOT show boat - Walter Peyton, Emmitt Smith, Earl Campbell, Jerry Rice, etc. - and this thread is dedicated to the discussion of showboating.

Obviously you're a troll, and the sooner this Sunday's game is over, the sooner you Bengals trolls will be out of here.

That is good one buddy. If you care to look at my join date you will see the year 2004. Seems a one week troll doesnt join two years before the game. I would also like you to know that because i live in cincinnati does not mean i am not a texans fan. I have actually followed them very closely, watching everyone of their games the last 3 years. I went to three games last season (at Chicago, at Indy and at Tenn.) So i think i have put my time in and have some insight. I also happen to love my home town team. And I think that by me stating my opinions on the matter and having some more exposure to Chad Johnson being that we are in the same city and I can see more of him other than ESPN, then maybe my opinion may have some credibility. I never had a problem with your opinions, its great you dont like "showboating" but make your point and move on. My point is why do you need to argue with people that say they like the dancing and celebrations. You can watch the game for the x's and o's but someone may like to just be entertained and not care about details.

I don't hold a grudge against the Bengals, especially from ancient history like the Oilers. Matter-of-fact, I've got lot of respect for your head coach and much of your team.

I just don't like showboats.

He might get away with it now, but it's only a matter of time...because that is "entertainment".
Testy are we?---You gotta catch him first, but I do agree that does put a target on his back, He knows that, & he's obviously not scared of it!!!---It's all about the money in the game today. & playing on a small market team, you've got to grab all the headlines you can!!!---Besides, if he played on YOUR team, I'm sure you would'nt feel that way!!!---YOU CAN'T STOP 85, so get ready to dance!!!

Put Chad in our brillant run all the time off. He would be about the same. Andre's bigger and more physical. Chad has an all around better team around him than Andre. Whatever, there both pretty damm good, I was just bringing the point that Chad has to have all this attention around him. Like a middle child or something. Andre was money all year last year and didn't pop off or look like an *****. I would say Chad's a little better than Moss or Carol Owens. At least he hasn't walked off the field before the game was over.
Carol Owens---funny!!!---& Andre IS tough!!!---Kinda wish we had him, but they let Peter Warrick just go, so I guess we don't really need him. P-Dub was a first rounder.

Dude, please let me clarify: I'm just having fun here and yanking a few chains. My apologies if you feel I've lumped everyone together. You've got to admit there have been quite a few Bengals trolls around here the past couple of weeks. And these are just the ones the mods don't delete. No offense, my friend.

As far as arguing, I've only been in discussion mode (which is the point of a forum...seriously, look it up). You've made more than one post in this thread, as well. This is what friends do, talk a little playful trash and razz each other. If you like seeing riverdance 100x on SportsCenter - GOOD FOR YOU. I'm really happy for you...although I hope you don't see much this weekend. ;)

But if you did not expect a reply after quoting me and trying to flame, well, what can I say...but don't quote or make assumptions about me. :ok:

It's all in good fun, man, just like showboating...hope you can understand.

See, now this is a guy that likes having fun:

heh-heh, what can I say...my team's play really sucks the first two games...and yeah, I'd say being a little scared of a hot Bengals team (who I've already got a lot of respect for) is in good order.

Geesh, man, we're 0-2 for the season, 0-2 in our lifetime series against the Bengals, so a little nervousness is to be expected.

Testy? Without a doubt...I'm shakin' in my teams boots! :texflag:

And ya'll are alright...I'm only playing around about showboating, as I understand full well that it is part of today's NFL...for the time being, at least. Ol' Tags and company could put the "No Fun League" back into effect any given off-season.

Anyway, don't take things so serious...and promise us, on the slight chance it happens, that you come back to visit should our underdog Texans win this one.

Sincerely,

Double "Old School Football" Barrel

Dude---he's #4 in the N.F.L. in recieving on a team that spreads the ball around to at least 6 or 7 different recievers a game. Where did you get those numbers???---& how many different recievers does David Carr get the ball to?---When he's not getting knocked on his can!

I assure you I'll be back for a few words after the game - win or lose. Probably wouldn't be until Monday though - I get pretty hammered at the games.

Unlike Owens and Moss who are just all about themselves, I think Chad MIGHT be just goofing around and pulling peoples leggs. The reason I suspect that is that he isn't like that away from the game, but the other two knucklheads are.

Exactly. Chad just likes to talk and have fun. He doesn't disrespect the game or his opponent. This is his fourth season and I have yet to see one single defender say anything bad about Chad Johnson. He is nothing at all like Moss or Owens. No one likes or respects those guys. Everyone loves and respects Chad Johnson. He's a little silly sometimes, but like I said, at no time does he ever do it in a selfish or disrespectful way. He's one of the most likable players in the game, and that's why you see him on TV almost every day.

Thanks!!!---You guys are okay too, but not as much fun to pick on as the PUKESBURGH SQUEELERS fans!!!---They just DON'T have a sense of humor!!!---I think it's something in the water, or rusty beer!!!---I just gotta ask, would YOU want to drink a beer called IRON CITY?---No thanks!!!---& I'm sorry if I ruffled your buffalo wings(closest thing I could think of to a long-horn bull)---See ya Sunday---Should be a great game!!! We know the Texans are a good team, & of course I'm n-n-n-nervous about it more than I want your hot-heads to know!!!---LOL :texflag:

chad johnson is the best receiver in the nfl and the funniest man to play football ever. he is a team first guy. what he is doing isnt trash talking. hes having fun and motivating himself. he doesnt insult the organization or let down other players like TO or moss. he brings more popularity to the league and the city of cincinnati.

yep, Joe Cool left lots of losers in his trail towards four Championships, 'eh?

And....uhhh...he didn't dance after his TDs, either. (Same with Jerry "Greatest.Receiver.Ever" Rice)
Not to argue this point, but I'm an old timer. With the rule changes & over-all conditioning of the players records are falling all the time. Let's not forget about guys like Lance Alworth, Paul Warfield, Otis Taylor, Fred Belitnikoff, Gene Washington's(49ers&Vikings-no relation)Don Hudson, & oh I could go on & on. But these guys had to catch passes using stick-um, because DB's were allowed to take thier heads off!!!---Do you remember guys like Fred(the hammer) Williamson & Jack Tatum if you don't, just ask Darrel Stingly he was put into a wheel chair from a vicious hit on a ball that was way too high!!! Also---Linemen had to block with thier elbows, & could'nt extend thier hands. Not to mention the new rules for QB's protection & Pass interference pentaltys which are much more strict!!! It was a running game, the great Packer sweep, & 3 yards & cloud of smoke. Sure records are falling & Rice was great. He allways had a quality QB throwing to him & rules to let him run freely. Stats- They pile up quick in todays game. And points on the board, is the N.F.L's bread & butter. Ratings are the key to the big money contracts the T.V. networks demanded when they made those changes, & it helps everybody, But Rice---the greatest ever??? He only played in one Super Bowl against the BENGALS, but grant it, he caught 10 balls & tore us up! but I would rather compare apples to oranges, or Babe Ruth, to Hank Aaron---Don't worry---I know I've said enough. But I do put Rice in the top 5 barring the rules.-WHEW!!! That took a while!!!---GO BENGALS!!!---sorry had to do that.

Don't worry, you.ll see him dangling in mid-air as he spikes the ball over the cross-bar about 2 or 3 times this Sunday!!!---Who Dey!!!

To stephen1-----Thanks Pardner!!!---Nice of you to feel that way!!! I can see that you've been a member here for quite a while. so you must be a Texans fan!!! That's cool!!! We love him too, & Andre's pretty darn good too!!!---See ya Sunday kid!!! & bring your dancin' shoes!!!---Just Kidding!!!---Go BENGALS---& Go TEXANS(after this Sunday) :texflag:

Jerry Rice was also in the Superbowl where San Fran beat the crud out of San Diego.

I'd generally prefer he didn't do it, but I will admit that jig caught me off guard a bit - he is creative.

Likely luckily for those of you who don't like this stuff, our other end-zone-dancing WR, Washington, is probably inactive for this game. His "dance" is atrocious. I thought he had an injury the first time I saw it.

I hope someone freakin destroys him! What a dumb *******.
(wouldn't it be nice, though, if we had this as a problem?)[/QUOTE

I don't know; I like Chad Johnson and his celebrations. Even the players interviewed around the league find him hillarious. its all harmless fun and would we still hate his guts if he were doing it for the Texans? He's just a funny guy and a special talent and after the game its all love. I think its his way of pumping up the opposition so that he gets there best, and by getting their best he can honestly say he beat the best. That opinion doesn't make me any less of a Texan fan I hope but just a true lover of the new age NFL. We're young so letthem be young a celebrate as long as its not causing fights but on the contrary causing laughs.............God knows we all could use many more of those in these times. Thanks

your talking about "THE SQUIRL". That move is side poppingly funny. Just think how this thing got started with Billy white shoes to Icky Woods to Ervin and Prime Time. its almost like celebrating a touchdown because they aren't easy to come by and pumping up your fans for believing in you to get there like the lambo leap. Just flat out fun. Now the line was crossed and became personal with the disrespecting of the Lone Star by T.O. in Dallas and he got a just reward. :tv: :tomato: :ok:

LOL yes the squirrel.

People need to remember just how hard it is to score a touchdown in this league. If you do it once or many times you should celebrate. I wish we could get a player like that to help get our team up for these games.

He is a guy you can see walking around a mall on off days and you wouldnt even notice him if you didnt know who he was.
He was at an arena football game here in Cincinnati before the season started and the only reason i noticed him was because he was with TJ Houshmandzadeh and if you ever seen him he is hard to miss becasue of his hair. They were seating about 10 row up from the field and a section over from me. I noticed them when i got up to go to the bathroom and that was in the first quarter, i think i was the first to see him and i told my brothers that he was there and some kids in front of me heard me and run over by them and were asking for autographs, then by halftime there were a ton of fans around them so they got up and left.

good for you

I agree...Chad Johnson is a great player, and he doesnt celebrate to put down the other team. He does it as a reward for himself. He always brings his opponets up to good spirits even if they do mess up.
