Did you see the river dance, last week?---That was too much!!---Okay, I'll admit it---I'm from Cincy. Just came over to wish you all a great game this week!---It's been fun razing on your fans this week, Thinking it was the Texans, but it seems like Houston still has the LUV YA BLUES!!!---Right down to the color of the local police cars.---(I used to live there)---But seriously, things are looking up in Houston!!!---Dom Capers---is a great coach!!!---Just hang with them, & you'll see some pretty darn good football real soon!!!---I just hope it's not THIS sunday!!!---Welcome to Cincinnatti, TEXANS!!!---It's time to dance!

Man, something not to look forward to this Sunday.

Showboats...pfft! :loser Act like you've been there before.

Chad Johnson's mouth makes me root for the Steelers...who he gets to face twice a year!

Good luck with that Wildcard spot, Bengals-fan.

I saw that & just about fell off my chair---LOL!!!---I know in the publics eyes Chad is like those guys(MOSS & T.O.)---but please believe me, the kid is just having fun!--He gives so much of his time to the people of Cincinnatti, it makes you wonder when he has time to sleep!---I saw him get chewed out at training camp, because he was spending too much time with kids signing autoghaphs, and such. On Tuesday of last week, he let a local T.V. crew follow him around the city while he talked to people on the street!--He's really a great kid, & I wish the rest of the country could see that!--We love him to death, & he's genuinly happy to help out with charity's & the sort. I know that's not unique. The N.F.L. is known for the United Way, among other charities, I think he's a lot like Marvin Harrison,---But he reaches for the stars a little more! Any way---Good Luck this week, & I hope & pray both teams come out of it healthy & ready for the next game!!!---GO BENGALS!!!---& please forgive Chad, he's okay!!

this is good, remember what he did with the browns?
Yea!!!---Boy did he ever catch heck for the Pepto-Bismol game, He sent a case of the pink stuff to the DB,s of Cleveland, & could'nt catch a ball all day!!!---But that's what I meant by Chad's just having fun!!!---Too Funny---LOL!!!

I hope someone freakin destroys him! What a dumb *******.
(wouldn't it be nice, though, if we had this as a problem?)
That's what Chicago thought, but you saw what happened to them!!!---Now don't be hatin' buddy---That's not what I'm here for!!!---Oh yea---I don't know if you know this, but---Cincy took a knee, on the Chicago 3 yrd. line with over a min. to go in the game or it could have been worse---Not to mention the T.D. they took away from T.J. Houshmanzadeh.

Im a texan fan but i love Chad Johnson. He does everything with intentions of having fun. All of his teammates love him and all his opponents respect him. Him and Fred Smoot had a little light hearted verbal war before their game a few weeks ago and they hugged before the game. He doesn't take cheap shots at people like T.O. and he doesn't get into trouble like Moss. I think the guy is good for the game. Like it has been said time and time again. If you don't want him to dance in the end zone don't let him get there. I hope Daunta hears this!

Are you kidding???---SUPER BOWL in the same place it all started, the Pontiac Silverdome. Home of Super Bowl XVI!!! & you don't have to remind me, I know we lost!---Do they really keep all the stuff The Squeelers have to say, out of the public eye? Man they dogged Houston like you would'nt believe! & at least I'm TRYING to be nice!!! So then buddy---get ready for a major butt-whippin!!! I COULD have told you what I REALLY think!!!---WHO DEY PAL!!! How do you like me NOW?

Finally a voice of reason---I knew there was still decent people in Houston & not carrying grudges from the old Oil Slick days!!!---You & Sassy are okay!!!---See ya Sunday---I'm outta here before one of those rednecks kills me---LOL!!!

I don't hold a grudge against the Bengals, especially from ancient history like the Oilers. Matter-of-fact, I've got lot of respect for your head coach and much of your team.

I just don't like showboats. They are all about the individual player over the team. Football is a team sport, by the way, and without a line protecting the QB allowing him to throw the ball, players like Johnson would have nothing to showboat about.

Leave the dancing for the cheerleaders on the sideline. Football players should have a little respect for the rest of the team and stop all the "look at me!" nonsense. That kind of display should be left for tennis players. It's all about the cameras and SportsCenter highlights...immature mentality, IMHO.

And when these little goofy antics attract attention, don't go cryin' when some LB or safety jacks him up in the middle of the field and leaves his limp body lying there moaning and groaning, because don't believe for an instant that showboating displays don't put a target on their back. Add mouth to that equation, and you're just asking for trouble.

He might get away with it now, but it's only a matter of time...because that is "entertainment".

Chad Johnson is one of the best recievers in the league. Too bad he is a major clownass. I would take Andre Johnson over him any day. He is a class act in every aspect. You'll never see him dancing and acting like a clown. Sure hope coach feeds him the ball more. Go Texans!!! Whip the Bungals

Week 1 : 3 catches for 18 yards

Week 2 : 4 catches for 20 yards

I guess I wouldn't be dancing either. The Bengals D has more receptions than your #1 receiver. :neener:

Yeah, the guy is just having fun. He doesn't mean any disrespect, he just loves to entertain.

Face it, if everyone just handed the ball off to the ref and never spoke trash about the other team the NFL would be pretty boring. I have no problem with the players that don't "showboat", nor do I have a problems with the ones that do. It takes all kinds.

The thing you need to know about Chad is his opponants have no problem with what he does after he scores. He always talks to them and congratulates them after the game.

Even the Browns DBs were laughing when they got the package of Pepto. If the players think it's all in good fun, why should the fans think any different?

Off the field the guy is low key, quiet, and a model citizen. Maybe he is so good because he can put that extra swagger in his step on the field. He knows he is good and believes in himself and his team. And maybe he has a target on his chest, but he does that also for his team. If he is the main attraction that leaves 3 or 4 other guys left open on the field. The guy isnt stupid. He is gonna get his and the rest of the team will get that many more. He is a guy you can see walking around a mall on off days and you wouldnt even notice him if you didnt know who he was. So maybe you guys can lay off him celebrating his touchdowns. He doesnt plant things to use like sharpies and cell phones, so easy. You are probably just mad that you dont have him on the Texans. He may have a swagger but it gets him into the endzone every week.

i live in cincinnatti so i hear a lot about him. he sounds like a nice guy, gives a lot to charity, and livens up the games. and he has not gone overboard.

yet

Put Chad in our brillant run all the time off. He would be about the same. Andre's bigger and more physical. Chad has an all around better team around him than Andre. Whatever, there both pretty damm good, I was just bringing the point that Chad has to have all this attention around him. Like a middle child or something. Andre was money all year last year and didn't pop off or look like an *****. I would say Chad's a little better than Moss or Carol Owens. At least he hasn't walked off the field before the game was over.

I've never had a problem with celebrations, even though some of them can be kind of stupid (haven't even noticed any recently). I think they should just allow them and have a time limit on them or something. No running all the way to the middle of the field to put the ball there or whatever. Taunting should also be kept to a certain minimum, otherwise the Texans would be humiliated.

Im all for Chad Johnson's endzone celebrations! Nothing wrong with that at all! When I Played High school football, I looked forward to doing a jig myself in the endzone!! Scoring a Touchdown is the best feeling! SO dance, have fun with it, whatever floats your boat! Im with Vinny, I thought it was Funny! I respect Chad Johnson, He's a great player! But Im a die hard Texans fan, SO I hope he doesnt score!! GO Texans!! :texflag:

Unlike Owens and Moss who are just all about themselves, I think Chad MIGHT be just goofing around and pulling peoples leggs. The reason I suspect that is that he isn't like that away from the game, but the other two knucklheads are.

The dancing a celebrating is fine with me because I have always thought football was a game of emotions. As long as it is not disrespectful and is just for fun I think it is alright. I am a fan of chad's and think he and andre johnson are on the same level (even though the stats dont say that this year because dre cant control how many times he is thrown to. and from double coverage).

I dont mind him dancing either, but it sure would be nice to see him eating a slice of humble pie on monday after getting shutdown on sunday.

Im not a big fan of end zone celebrations especially when you pull out a cell phone or sharpie. I gotta say i loved the river dance Chad did Sunday. That was hallarious! At least he did something funny and original unlike Moss's "moon" or TO's "little workout". I think he is a top 10 reciever and I hope that Dre will get his time to shine like Chad once we get a decent OL.

PS. This has to be the stupidist thing Ive ever heard...

LOL @ "Carol" Owens. That's good.

Yeah, I know Andre is solid. I've got him on my fantasy team. He hasn't reaped me any rewards just yet, but I have faith. I just hope he doesn't start this Sunday.

Just keep in mind that Chad Johnson is cousin to Keyshawn Johnson. They obviously inherited the same loud mouth. At least Chad has more talent of the too.

Touchdowns are hard to come by. What's wrong with a player sharing his excitement and joy when he scores? Maybe you need to change the glasses through which you see the celebration - so you can smile instead of get angry. This is, afterall, a GAME. And games are meant to be be entertaining and fun to play. Don't the fans celebrate when our teams score? Some of the things we fans do in celebration make the players antics look mild! So why not let the player enjoy the moment just like us fans? It's Sunday afternoon during football season. It's a game. And we only get to experience this for a brief time each year. Sunday's during football season are fun for us and the players as well. But maybe you're a fan that sits on his hands and doesn't smile when your team scores because that might be selfish and disrespectful of the game. Having emotions are part of the human being. Chill out and have fun on Sundays! And if you can't, at least let the rest of us do it - including the players.

You're right on. Owens and Moss go beyond just having fun. History shows they are problem children for their teams. They demonstrate selfishness. Chad is just having fun. Anyone who's followed Chad through his career realizes it's his nature to have fun, be loose - and at the same time be a great team player and totally dedicated to the game. Sometimes he sleeps in the locker room overnight because he stays so late and starts so early. He's a perfectionist when it comes to being the best he can be. He had a DVD made of all 16 of his dropped passes in 2004 and he's watched it 30+ times to learn what he did wrong! Now he's even better for it. Hey, if a guy is this dedicated to what he does, and succeeds, should it be surprising he feels great about it? He's a big team player and real big when it comes to selflessness in the Cincinnati community. He's NOT all about Chad. That's what many people outside of Cincinnati DON'T know about Chad Johnson. Owens and Moss could learn a lot from Chad if they ever stopped thinking of themselves.

Wouldn't A.J actually have to get into the endzone once in a while before acting like clownass :neener: ...just kidding I have him on my fantasy team and I hope he lights it up....after this weekend.

That Riverdance is hillarious!!!

To my fellow Texan fans: lighten up, football is supposed to be entertaining. And that dance entertained :thumbup

Really...you think the game of FOOTBALL is boring unless you get drama and dancing football players. :hmmm:

Y'know, you guys are right...we should let payers do WHATEVER they feel like, regardless of how outrageous it is in the end. I mean, standards smandards, let them go showboat and the league should just abandon any rules limiting celebrations.

Made a tackle? Dance and start a chorus line!

Run for two yards? Grab three midgets and start juggling!

Yay, it's a circus!! Where's the clowns?

What was I thinking? The marketing could be pure genius! I mean, the NFL could be just like WWE in no time!

"Football is just soooooo boring unless we get lots of bs to keep us interested..." :listening

[/sarcasm]

Amazing you don't see this junk in baseball...
hmmmm...perhaps getting hit with a 95 mph fastball has something to do with it....

yep, Joe Cool left lots of losers in his trail towards four Championships, 'eh?

And....uhhh...he didn't dance after his TDs, either. (Same with Jerry "Greatest.Receiver.Ever" Rice)

I think you need to relax a bit and stop arguing with everyone. Obviously you dont like Chad Johnson and you dont like there to be any celebration. Thats great for you, but is it really necessary to continue to argue with anyone that thinks otherwise? Some people like a little celebration, but its not hurting the other teams feelings so why do you let it bother you

Relax? I'm not uptight.

Arguing? I'm not arguing, either.

Nice assumptions on your part. You've made it into an artform, actually....speaking out of your assumption and all that.

Forums are for respectfully expressing one's opinion....and trolling if you're a Bengals fan. :heh: (btw, any reason you feel the need to troll our forum instead of hanging at your own team's?)

I've got nothing against Chad Johnson. Dude's got talent. I've never disputed that, and I've never attacked him personally.

I just don't dig showboating. The greatest of the greats in the NFL did NOT show boat - Walter Peyton, Emmitt Smith, Earl Campbell, Jerry Rice, etc. - and this thread is dedicated to the discussion of showboating.

Obviously you're a troll, and the sooner this Sunday's game is over, the sooner you Bengals trolls will be out of here.
