Cut Kris Brown.........

I know that this season is done and the Texans are playing for the #1 pick but that just makes me want to puke!!! He should be cut TODAY for missing that FG!!! He couldn't make a money kick if he had to!!! Trust me, I am a true Texan fan if I watched that whole game!!

:texflag:

So I guess you like being the laughing stock of the NFL. I could have handled losing the game before the kick off but not like that.

OK , Ill start it ....

Fire Chris Brown ! :sarcasm:

Since we've talked about firing everyone else on the team and staff may as well talk about firing the kicker too .

This team just has THE WORST luck ..... :brickwall

BTW , another good day from DD

How many games has Brown won for us?

Way more than he's lost. Chill your jets.

That being said...:brickwall :brickwall :brickwall

He ran for a first down on a fake FG. I think he was following orders on the miss.

Knee-jerk:confused:

Brown is not the problem. He has won many games for us with his field goals. Blame the defense, blame the offense, blame the coaches....there is plenty of blame to go around as a whole in the organization, but Brown is not the problem.:texflag:

I'm not one of those silly conspiracy theorists, but I've never seen Brown blow a kick like that.

It's like he wanted to barely miss the uprights, but overcompensated.

Why don't we cut Andre Johnson then? He dropped the touchdown pass in the endzone against the Ravens.

See how ridiculous that sounds?

That's ridiculous. He's made quite a few money kicks in his time and he'll make more. Today was what it was and IMO a little obvious but still I think he did what he was told to do.

Yes, I mean exactly what it sounds like I mean.

"Say it ain't so Dom, say it ain't so!"

I think he did what he was told .....

I doubt it was Dom .... Probably Casserly and could have been McNair ...... Capers could care less if they have the #1 pick , he WILL NOT be here next season

If you guys really believe that he (Dom)told Kris to miss the kick then why did he have Kris run for the 1st down instead of taking the kick before the fake?? Also risking injury to his kicker???

I think Bob McNair made the call this time.

Exactly my point above

Dom actually showed some ballz today .... even if it was only one play

Good question. When Kris ran for the first down, the Texans were only giving the impression of trying to win. Even had the Texans gone on to score, Bob McNair was confident enough in his team to throw away the game with over 3 minutes to go anyway.

But when you are down to 0:00, subtlety has to be thrown out the window.

People cheering out in the open for your team to lose is just besides me. Again I understand this season is over and we are playing for next year but you will never find me cheering against the Texans like most of you have!!

eventually these same people will jump back on the bandwagon and pretend all this never happened ... pretty bleak right now though ...

So by calling for Kris to get cut, you are cheering for the Texans?

And openly wanting to cut one of the few money players we have is beside me.

Heck Yes I'm cheering for them. Just because I want a player cut doesn't mean I am cheering against them. He won a couple of games in our 1st couple of years, but since he had the concussion a couple of years back he has not been the same big game kicker that we as fans grew attached to. Trust me 84 you will never find me rooting against the Texans!!

Brown is the least of our problems. He's actually one of the people that will be around. This thread is just crazy....Missed one kick, had another blocked (not his fault).

Money player?? When was the last game that Kris won for the Texans?? At the end of the game?? Please anybody!!!!

if we were planning to lose the game, why did we pitch the squib to Mathis? he was our only chance to score a TD

Why did we pitch the squib to Mathis? Why did we have our kicker attempt the fake?

I'll tell you what I think. I think that it doesn't take 53 guys and a coaching staff to shut this down. The kicker doesn't have to be the guy causing the missed kick. You're forgetting about the holder. The special teams I wouldn' think would be involved nor their coach. I personally don't think there's anyone on the coaching staff who would be involved in this.

I'm thinking Casserly and no more than 4-6 players. Maybe fewer than that.

How about the only game we won this year? Oct. 30, 2005; WEEK 8; Houston 19, Cleveland 16. Kris only accounted for 13 of the 19 points.

He kicked that FG with 2:50 left in the game and did miss a 38 yarder right before that. Again when was the last pressure kick, with little or no time left did Kris win the game or even send it to OT????????

Point taken since we have not had any opportunities. Career numbers with the Texans. 77% FG, 100% PAT. I'll take it and move on.

So now all we need to be a good team is:
K, P, QB, WR, OL, TE, DT, DE, LB, CB, FS, SS.

5 year plan version 2.0 starting.....now!

His did still kick the game winning FG right? For a total of 13 of the 19 points, right?

Cris Brown is not the problem

Cris Brown is the least of the problems. However, anyone who has kept up the the personnel of this team should know that Brown came from Pittsburg where the stadium had "vicious swirling winds." Therefore any coach knowing this should have NEVER been playing for field goals.

ps - Reggie Bush is not going to make this team better playing for it!

Interestingly enough, two weeks after that concussion against the Chargers, he nailed the 49 yard field goal to win the game against Kansas City.

they should give him a bonus:texflag:
Yeah they should. Kris Brown was definitely today's Reggie Bush Player of the Game!!!

THIS GAME WAS AWESOME!!!

BRING IN BUSH!!!

I can't believe what I am reading here. Guess I will add my .02 on the bashing.

Kris has made the majority of our points this season and blows the kick (as TOLD to, it is blatently OBVIOUS) and you want to kick him to the curb because of ONE screw up (this wasn't a screw up as he was told to do this, but the last one was)? If we used your philosophy with all the players, we wouldn't even have enough on the roster to start a game.

Good lord, sakes o'mighty.

kris brown's a pro bowl kicker.

he missed that fg on purpose.

he should get a raise for his part in bringing possibly the greatest nfl running back to the texans next year.

When was the last time he made the Pro Bowl??

This thread is a joke right?

The last, and I think only, kicker to make every fg in a season was Vanderjagt with the Colts then he had the audacity to call out Peyton Manning before the Pro Bowl. You don't make every kick, he's even missed some this year while his team is undefeated this season. If you want the sure points, score a touchdown. Let's fire Mathis because he didn't take it all the way.:sarcasm:

I was just going to say. That if you were a real Texan fan you would know that many of our wins have been because Kris Brown has nailed many FGs for this team. There is no more a Texan that wants to see this team win than Kris Brown. It sounds foolish to say that he missed the FG on purpose to keep our #1 pick status but given just how much he likes this franchise it is not too far fetched. The only argument you could say though is that NYJ already won and they would've known that.

I disagree. Dom wants to win. I think Dom thinks if he wins a few games and ends the season on a positive note, he may be back next year.

I'm going to assume that this thread is just an emotional reaction to yet another gut-wrenching loss. Cut Brown? Are you serious?? Take a few deep breaths, a couple shots of tequila and a good night's sleep. You'll feel better in the morning.

That being said, and in response to the "glad we lost" crowd, I really don't see how Bush is going to be the savior of our season next year with as many other holes as we have. Our offensive line was a freakin' sieve today.

Hang in there, kiddos, this nightmare season is almost over.
