UH Puts Up Roadblock For UAB's Offense
Defense dominates during in-and-out trip to Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. For much of the season, the Houston Cougars' offense has been hogging the headlines. But in Saturday's Conference USA game against UAB, it was the UH defense that took center stage.
Make no mistake, the Cougars still did their thing on offense. But the defense completely stifled the Blazers throughout a 49-10 whipping of UAB at near-empty Legion Field.
It was a game of surgical efficiency for the Cougars (4-3, 3-1 C-USA), and they had to make it outpatient surgery.
With no hotel rooms available because of the Alabama-Tennessee clash right down the road in Tuscaloosa, the Cougars were forced to juggle their usual routine and fly in Saturday morning, mere hours before kickoff, and fly right back out afterward. (continued.... HERE)
The kicking game still needs work and a lot of it. If you were at the games so far this year the punters look like Ray Guy in practice and a bad nine iron during the games. As far as the field goal kicking is concerned....one name sums it up, East Carolina.
I didn't start this thread to gripe, it's just the missed FG jumped off the page at me. It's great to see the Houston D get in on the act and of course the offense didn't need no stinking hotel rooms.
On to El Paso. I believe a RE-PEAT is coming!!
