Colts vs Chargers

Nothing better than watching Manning lose, well besides the Titans losing as well. Loved Session getting all pissed off at the camera guy

incredible game. Sproles is great. Tomlinson is done.

Chargers are peaking at just the right time.
ultimately that's what it's about. 8-8 really doesn't mean anything. some teams take a while to play to their abilities. the Patriots last year peaked at week 10, and slowly fell off each week after

If the NFL had any sense the Colts would get their shot. But the NFL has no sense.

What are you talking about? The Colts had their shot. It happened to be on defense, and they blew it with some stupid penalties, but they had plenty of shot to stop them and give it to Manning. They just didn't get it done.

Let's not start the change the OT rules BS. It's fine just like it is.

You are allowed to touch the WR within five yards and after that they were both fighting for position.

You might be allowed to touch him but you're not allowed to grab his jersey and keep him from going up field, which is what he did. Flag, no question about it.

I'm talking about a better OT format. Anyway I just posted my opinion which hasn't changed in years. I wasn't pulling for either team. Having a shot on defense and defense only is not the same and you know it.

I posted my opinion if that's OK with you.

I agree. I don't like the overtime rule either.

I think OT is fine. If you lose the toss, you go out and play defense. The problem with that is the league has done so much to bolster offense in recent years that this hew and cry about the OT rules is a reaction to those changes. So fix those problems, not the OT rules. JMO.

Not the facemask the holding call.

The holding call was blatant. He held him up, let him go and turned him by his shoulder pads and THEN interfered with him. It was an on field assualt.

I also hate people calling LT out. The guy has always been a pro and a stud. Last year he couldn't play and explained it. I didn't like until he explained it. This game the guy has a tendon connecting his groin to pelvis gone and he still tried to play. People always wanting to ***** and moan and tear people down

Or you could do the obvious and have a fair OT. Or you could change one simple rule instead of several rules and have the Charger defense out there like the Indy defense was. I have hated the unfair rule from day one. Guys, this isn't rocket science.

Yup. Just like any other board would be though for a team that lost a close playoff game.

Only a few "Refs screwed us" threads and a lot more "wah wah" inside other threads.

I thought the holding call there gave me flashbacks to the Texans defense this season.

wow, colts fans are melting down. some are even saying that Peyton choked. what ungrateful bastages.

the only people that choked were the Colts D in OT. Sessions especially. That facemask was just ignorant.

I wanted a Colts-Titans AFC Championship game just to bolster the reputation of the AFC South.

I can root for the Colts. They're not douchenzebaggas like the Tennessee Titans. I have much respect for what they've accomplished this decade.

Great response by Sessions after the game was over. One camera man followed him off the field and he told him to get the (expletive expletive) out of his face.

Yeah, let's just keep going back and forth and keep the game going forever. Better yet, let's adopt the college OT. That isn't even football. No thank you. If you don't win it in regulation, then you take your chances in SUDDEN DEATH!!!!

Colts make the stop on 3rd and 11, Chargers are punting.
Colts don't hold the first time and it's 3rd and 4, no telling what happens. Hold them on the next play Bolts are punting.
Colts don't hold the 2nd time, and SD either punts or goes for a 58 yarder.

OT is just fine the way it is. It isn't unfair. You HAVE to play defense. If you don't, you lose. Why punish the Chargers for the Colts failure on D? That doesn't seem too fair.

Back to the game for a sec...should the Colts have taken the safety instead of punting from the back of the end zone? Yeah it's a 1 point game and SD can win on a FG (they won anyway), but if you're kicking from the 20 and you're more set to defend a return, instead of trying to keep the punt from being blocked, maybe the Bolts are backed up well into their own end of the field instead of starting on Indy's side, which could have made a difference.

Either way, I'm just glad to see a Manning and a division rival go down. Let's make it a 2-fer next weekend.

I've just watched the highlights and thing that struck me in OT was how many penalty yards the Colts gave up.

I didnt get to look at that play very well but from what I saw it looked like he didn't grab the facemask but pushed him down kinda like a stiff-arm. Am I wrong in this and if I am not, what is the difference in shoving someones face in the ground and a stiff-arm?

well what's the fair way then
let me throw this out there (please don't throw any fish heads). Flip a coin and the winner gets to receive or defer. Kick off like normal and whatever that team does the other team has to match or do better. Can you imagine one team scoring a touchdown and PAT in overtime and then if the other team scores a TD they have the option of going for 2 points to win. That sounds pretty neat to me.

Oh no. He grabbed it. He grabbed and then twisted Sproles head around afterwards. There was no maybe about it.

The defender yanked down on the facemask while making the tackle!

while his hand was clearly on the face mask it was flat - never grabing always pushing. kinda like stretching or resistance exercise you don't grab the wall your pushing against it, still anytime a players hands go to the face he's getting flagged :aggressive:

I thought the story of the game was Rivera and his defense. They were constantly shifting the front and the Colts O-line simply could not block them.

Having said that I did think the refs threw way too many flags. Not so much at the end of the game but in the middle of it. Probably my least favorite officials in the game. I'm not sure it affected the game much though.

I thought he grabbed it and then let go and pushed him down with the facemask. I think it deserved a call. Just don't grab the facemask. You didn't need to.

I did too. I kept thinking that we should have grabbed him last year in the off-season while he was just an assistant.

Now that he is the DC, we probably can't get him.

The meltdown over there is priceless. Need to keep an eye on Fox News today to see if Lucas Oil stadium gets blown up.

Everything from running Dungy out of town to stopping Manning from calling his own plays.

lol

Where's coach Ted when they need him????

This game crushed my 4 game parlay!!!

Colts fans are a bunch of idi*ts. They don't know how lucky they are to have a QB of that caliber. Maybe they need to be reminded of the Jeff George days. Hell, if they don't want him I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Texans uni. It would be nice to see someone call an audible at the line once in a while. Hate his commercials, hate his haircut but you can't hate his talent and dedication to his team and to winning.

I don't know if the Texans would have a helmet big enough to fit that head :tease: :joker:
