College Football - Week 1

bah007

Hall of Fame
Two good games already and the football season just started!

South Carolina looks like they are going to be putting a good defense on the field this season.

And Oregon looked terrible tonight against Boise St. They were just getting blown off the ball on every play. That was an ugly game with an even uglier ending. Don't be surprised if the headlines tomorrow are reporting that LeGarrette Blount has been kicked off the Oregon football team.

Blount is a thug. I know the Boise player touched him first and taunted him but Blount was the one talking trash before the season about how they owe Boise State an ass whoopin.

He couldnt back up what he said so he deserved to get taunted. If your going to run off at the mouth you better back it up. Then he sucker punched the Boise player and ran away faster from that than he did any defender all night.

Then he tried to fight the Boise fans and had to be restarined by players and policemen.

Kick him off. Oregon doesnt need players like that on their team.

Yeah, just saw this on youtube. Byron Hout needs to grow up and let the football do the talking, but LeGarrette takes the cake. Unbelievable.

I did see some of the South Carolina - N.C. State game and I believe I saw what could be the worst non-call in NCAA history, if not all of football. See this.

Doesn't matter if he got the facemask or not, bad call. Surprisingly, I'm not sure that really had an effect on the outcome. There was a pass inteference call right after that and it put them in good field position. Thing is on my end of it, I couldn't tell if Smith could have gone all the way or could have gotten the ball so deep it would have changed everything.

College Football - Week 1 also known as "Cupcake Week"

I'm looking forward to Charleston Southern taking on the Florida Gators and Louisiana Monroe going into Austin to take on the Longhorns. Watch out BCS, here we come! $1.00 to anyone who can name the mascots of Charleston Southern and Louisiana Monroe without googling it.

btw, if you are going to trash talk a hot-headed opponent after your team stuffed his team, do it while wearing a helmet.

Really dissapointed in all the BCS talk ALREADY from Boise. Their schedule is soft plain and simple. Oregon is the only Ranked team they have played in their fourty-whatever home game win streak.

Dont get me wrong, Boise took it to the ducks, but I would like to see Boise play some tougher opponents than Idaho and Bowling Green.

South Carolina and NC State was a snoozer. South Carolina has a good defense again this year, but their offense is just as pathetic as last year.

Looking forward to the KU-Northern Colorado game. Northern Colorado was a solid 1-10 from the Big Sky conference last year.

Grow up??? How about spending some jail time for felonious assault. Seriously though, what a puh ce for throwing a sucker punch and then his act following that. Asshat!!

Of course this guy is from the same school whose mascot went ape **** on Shasta.

I agree. I thought it was a very sloppy game. South Carolina's defense looks decent, but both teams offenses were lifeless. It was disappointing watching an offense of "the ol ball coach" do absolutely nothing impressive.

Boise looked like the only team ready to play the opener. The score should've been more lopsided than it ended up. Masoli that has been vastly overrated by most talking heads sucks. Here I was expecting a shootout, pffft! Dude coundn't hit the broad side of a freakin barn.

The Boise State player started the whole thing by taunting the guy...the coach grabbed him and gave him an earful.

Still I'm still not sure I can believe that I saw what I saw..never seen any athlete..any level...go off like that guy did.

Just crazy.

Anybody see Blount's apology afterward? He could barely pronounce the words he was saying. Its like a coach told him what to say and he hadn't even heard of half of the words before. Dude is a thug who can't control himself. I'd kick him off the team in a heart beat. He isn't even very good, he is amazingly slow.

I was watching the game live, and I was blown away. The guy totally lost it, and Oregon needs to kick him off the team ASAP. They did a post-game interview with the Boise St. head coach who was reprimanding his player that was taunting right before he got sucker punched, and you could tell that he was still a bit shocked by everything that happened. He couldn't even think of the name of the team he plays next week.

He even punched his own teammate. A guy like that doesn't deserve to be on any football team and damn sure doesn't deserve a scholarship.

I'll go with the Louisiana Monroe Mudbugs and Charleston Southern Artichokes.

Nothing like kicking off the college season getting your tv all out of whack trying to adjust the color because you forgot the field is supposed to be blue.

as for blount, that's the prime reason you don't pop off before a game.....but the boise state guy did ask for it by trying to rub the win in his face like a little girl.

Yea I watched it live..the last quarter and some.

The blue field kind of makes me nauseous.

Can't believe that kid went off like that. That was crazy.

Memo to world: Don't taunt that guy!

That Boise State kid taunting him though..that left a nasty taste in my mouth that wasn't related to that blue field. Jerk.

I watch sports but it's football almost exclusively. Basketball I couldn't care less about.

At least Florida is playing Troy the following week.

UGA vs OSU is a great first week matchup. Would have been better with Stafford and Moreno though. :(

But when I do, I drink the green kind.

Stay thirsty, my friends.

Looks like once again Texas isn't going to have a stud RB........how the hell can you have the largest football program in the state of Texas and not have a stud RB.

McElroy looks like crap for the Tide, but I'm liking Upchurch. I've never been an Ingram fan.

Vtech needs to get a new QB. Tyrod Taylor holds them back every year. There was a bunch of easy throws that he missed today. Could have had an easy TD on one of them. He threw 2 touchdowns and 7 INTs last year. Dude just plain sucks, he has been holding that team back for too long, it's time for a change.

Coogs with an easy win tonight but next week we play at Okie State.:muscles:

That was a pretty good game.
OSU, if they stay healthy, may very well change the landscape in this Big 12 this year!

Are you in the states now or what did I miss along the way?

GO BIG RED!!!!!

Not yet, waiting on some final red tape to be cut through. We'll be in Omaha by the end of the year.

At the moment we are just hanging in there and trying to stay patient.

Crap, this is the toughest defense I've seen at OSU for a long while.
They got a nice little team there.

Bring it on!

Georgia also SUCKED on offense, so I'd hold off and see how OSU's defense does against a better big 12 offense. Georgia is in complete rebuild mode on that side of the ball....I think it's going to be a LONG year for them.

I believe that is Big 12 1 - SEC zero

Honestly, the SEC looks to be worse than in years past. LSU struggled against Washington, a team that won 0 games last year. I know Washington has a new coach but still. Georgia is completely rebuilding their offense as CB said. Tennessee might take a step forward but they haven't been good at all recently. We'll see where Ole Miss is at, I expect them to be good. Alabama looks good, and I applaud them for playing Clemson and Virginia Tech over the past two years.

Florida looks good, but they don't really play anyone this year. Go take a look at their schedule. Their non-conference games are Charleston Southern, Troy, and Florida International. They don't play Alabama or Ole Miss this year. Their most difficult games are against a offensively challenged Georgia, a defensively challenged LSU, and a young Florida State team.

The Big 12 looks like the best conference in football now IMO.

Oh yea and BYU is the real deal. BYU vs. FSU is going to be a fun game to watch. For me anyway.
