Clowney hit by truck...

Theodore Bridgewater without a doubt. He will start day 1, practice 1. He has everything you want in a QB. Good character. Smart. Cerebral. Pro style offense. And he will answer all size questions at the combine.

Robinson, Bridgewater, Manziel, Watkins, Barr, Mack are
All in play. Whomever seperates himself the most at combine interviews and private workouts.

Might want to change title and add, hypothetical!!!!

Clowney's corpse. Because...

"Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic man. Jadeveon Clowney will be that man. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster."

But $6M is a joke...

Is this a joke? Did something really happen?
It's just wishful thinking on Infantrycak part because he really wants Clowney to just go away. See I think he secretly wants to hop on that big Jadeveon-Bandwagon but doesn't want to admit it.

No, I would just like to have a discussion of the other players which doesn't devolve into EITHER a Clowney discussion OR a trade discussion. Clowney and trades have been discussed plenty elsewhere.

FYI - I have made very clear, Clowney is off my board due to injury concern - nothing to do with performance or motivation.

Everyone relax. Gracious.

You have to take best QB available.

We don't need a LT, we've got one, that we gave up Joe Flacco to get therefore Robinson and Matthews are out of play.

We don't need a WR, We just spent a 1st last year on one. I get potential Watkins talk if our whole football team was stacked and we wanted to think about the future, but this is obviously not the case for the Houston Texans drafting 1.01. Plus, I don't like WRs unless they are 6'2+ if their QB is not named Brady, Rodgers, Brees or Manning.

I like Mack, but HECK no will I spend a 1.01 on him.

Does that make your Board unique, because I'm not aware of another Draft Board that has completely removed Clowney for any reason, injury or otherwise ?
But if the Texans were to build an offense with a 3rd round pick @ QB (as you suggested elsewhere that the Seahawks have done and which may be a good model for us to emulate), what non-QB would you use our top pick on if not Clowney ?

He's being uncharacteristically contrarian this off-season.

Optimus Prime found out that Clowney is actually a Deceptacon. He transformed into a Semi and trucked Clowney into oblivion.

Bust out the Dyno Bots!!!

No. Hypothetical situation for discussion.

Either that or there are some coooooooold mf'ers up in here. :D

LMAO I see now.

Ah well, for me its always been the dude on my sig so no biggie.

Don't know and don't care.

I would like to see some discussion without Clowney to narrow in on that decision. That's the point of this thread. The relative merits of Mack, Mosely, Watkins, etc. compared to each other and the QBs is getting lost in the Clowney debate.

delete these three Mack, Mosely, Watkins from any discussion w/me #1 overall. lets move on :jogger:

I'm still Ready for Teddy.

If we aren't taking QB or The Clown, I would probably take Robinson or maybe Mack although it would pain me to take a LB at 1:1.

This is kind of hard for me because I'd just finally come around to the idea of Clowney at 1-1. In light of this development (Like Playoffs said, has anyone checked to see what the Truck looks like?) I'd probably go with Bridgewater and hope that he is at least close to what his advocates claim he is.

Then try and get back up into the bottom of the 1st (if necessary) and grab Louis Nix for my new NT.

Given the new wage scale ST only players are the only ones I wouldn't consider with 1.1 anymore. That's what I am trying to investigate and am in part deferring to the draft experts - is there a Patrick Willis or Navarro Bowman in the draft - I would take either one in a heartbeat at 1.1 under the new system

More of a snap count issue. QB and LT are in on every snap.

LB might miss a bunch depending on role. Mack is probably athletic and instinctive enough to be a Nickel or Dime LB so I would consider him.

A guy like Mosley gets penalized because he's an ILB .... I think he's the best football player in this draft. I wont make a current NFL comparison but he can cover , rush the passer and defend the run sideline to sideline. A complete player with a high football IQ.

I think he could be a 3 down guy even with Cushing , either of them could displace Brooks Reed in passing situations ... and that would give you lots of options in disguising who's coming and who's dropping into coverage.

IF the Texans didn't have a flaming pile of sh!t at the QB position , He'd likely be my#1 choice .... tho because of his positional discount , I'd likely take him after moving back a few spots.

Considering the current QB situation .... I'm still evaluating these damn QB's. :choke:

I can't ever go along, so I'm going to stick, for now, with my idea to build a dominate defense around the LB's. So I go with Anthony Barr at 1-1 to project to the Will OLB. His responsibility will be to terrorize the QB.

2-33...Sam OLB, Kyle Van Noy
3-65...ILB, Yawin Smallwood
4-97...RT, Ja'Wuan James
5-129...DE, Josh Mauro or Tayler Hart ( combine will decide)
5-comp...NT, Ryan Carrethers
5-comp...CB, Kendall James...4.38 speed
6-161...FS/CB, Marqueston Huff...4.40 speed
7-193...KR, DeAnthony Thomas...4.34 speed
7-comp...RB, Tyler Gaffney

So where does that leave us as regards QB. Without a trade, we go with what we got; plus a veteran FA. We'll see what kind of QB guru OB is.

Dee Ford is a personal favorite of mine. I think he's going to be an instant leader and impact player. Had he not had back surgery I'd be pounding the table, even though he's not "Crennel" sized. Same with Aaron Donald.

Hell no. I'd rarther he not be saddled with damaged goods only. Kubiak had to start that way with Carr and it set the Texans back years.

Surely not at 1:1?

Why not if you think he's going to be a star? Surely you wouldn't have drafted JJ Watt at 1-1 in 2011? Or Richard Sherman? Or Colin Kaepernick?

Doesn't matter as I don't see Ford's size fitting Crennel's desires. I just think the guy is a football player.

Yeah, I had to read through a couple of responses before I fully grasped what was being asked. When I first saw it, I thought WTF!?!?!

Jake Matthews.
So whoever we get at QB has a chance to finish the season in one piece.

Would you spend a 1.1 on Von Miller? I see him having that type of career trajectory.

How's the truck? :truck:

[IMGwidthsize=300]http://www.f150forum.com/attachments/f38/11805d1263015044t-wrecked-my-truck-09-f150-011.jpg[/IMG]

Then, I'd take The Truck at 1.1 & plug him in at RT. If he can stop a stud like Clowney DEAD in his tracks, then he's got to be the best OT in the draft. Just looking at him, he's mean, tough & not afraid to get a little dirty. He's a real blue collar worker with outstanding speed, a non-stop motor & he's immovable. As a run blocker, he can plow a hole wide enough to drive a truck through & can carry the RB if he has to. This guy is a real game changer & since Clowney is dead, The Truck is the only bonafide can't miss prospect.
