CJ Stroud year 2

CJ Stroud’s jersey in Canton at the Profootball Hall of Fame for display.

It’s the jersey he wore against Tampa.

Did they put it close to VY"s cleats?

What's Tytus doing at the 1:00 mark?
Tytus has unfortunately been basically plain bad as a LG.

I feel like his contract (and the injury of others) is why we're playing him because Fant has been excellent at RT and once other guys get hopefully healthy I wouldn't even mind removing Tytus and having him be backup for the rest of the year. The team probably won't do it for fear of creating controversy though.

I still believe in Tytus as a RT but Fant's play has made it near impossible to remove him for someone whose ceiling is probably to play as well as Fant already is right now.

Anyone ever been to the actual Football hall of fame? Is it worth going to?

A bad idea to give Howard the contract that Caserio gave him.

It's funny that the first play he chooses is one that he says has no answer for Cover 0. Looking at this chart regarding Stroud's performance against Cover 0, it seems the Bengals were onto something. Run Cover 0 and see if the OL, QB and OC can counter.

Pretty crazy how Mr Irrelevant is the only QB without a stain of pink on his chart.

Possibly. Although at the time I thought it was fine. It's short term, cuttable in 2025 and at the very least locks down the tackle spots.

Overall it's not the type of thing that really hamstrings them for any damaging length of time. It just puts them in an awkward position ths year and maybe next year given the level Fant has been playing at. Which is a fine problem to have because I still believe Tytus is a good RT in his own rights, just isn't a LG though.

Howard has always been an avg RT and a below avg LG IMHO. Look at Fant, he's a journeyman RT and he's been as good or better than Howard has ever been at RT.

HOUSTON -- Since the common draft era in 1967, there have been 817 quarterbacks drafted. One hundred eight of those made the Pro Bowl.
But perennial powerhouse Ohio State has the second-most wins in college football history and has yet to have a quarterback become a Pro Bowler.

Stroud leads the league in passing yards per game (291.8) and touchdown-to-interception ratio (15 to 2), and his 15 scores are four behind leaders Josh Allen and Tua Tagovailoa. He also broke the record for most pass attempts to start a career without an interception (186).

Brady on the difference between good and great was something like this. I don’t remember the exact quote

good is the throws you make
great is bad throws you don’t make

I think that makes all the sense in the world, and I have no interest trying to question Tom Brady on how to be a great QB, but one of the greatest pluses about a guy like Stroud is his willingness to push the ball on the throws that a lot of also-ran QBs would think you shouldn't make.

He's clearly taking care of the ball, which I think Tom is alluding to, with his ridiculous INT ratio but he also trusts his ability to make the great throws that really separate the QB tiers.

I missed this the other day so thanks for posting. I love how Martz framed success as keeping a standard or a level of consistency week in and week out, he’s right. All the other stuff falls into place if you keep a standard of being great.

I find it funny how Stan to this day still acts surprised by the praise CJ is getting. The eye test tells you this is no fluke. I remember after the draft Stan and Gordy talking about how Carolina had the superior roster and Young would have the better year, they’ve yet to say a damn thing of how wrong they were and NOW they’re calling Carolina’s roster trash.

Dexter Lawrence is also having an absolute monster season as a NT.

He might not even win DPOY either, but he deserves too.
Man, there are a lot of DT's that are having great seasons. Can't wait until Caserio gets a guy like that and pairs him with Rankins.
