CJ is a gifted athlete and better than most would imagine playing basketball.
Who can argue with that?I guess its better our new QB be on the court than in court like our last big name QB.
It was a chill shootaround style pickup game with friends.CJ has no business risking injury playing other sports. His focus should be preparing for his rookie season in the NFL. If he gets injured doing that it is excusable. He is getting paid by the NFL. Not trying to be a hard ass but in my way of thinking he shouldn't participate in any other extracurricular activities that put him at risk of serious injuries.
Slow moving body? To me CJ is more of a smooth player
I'd made a kind of Stroud/Burrow comp in a different thread, so as it pertains to the direction of this topic..Some of my friends in Austin grew up attending Jr High and HS with Drew Brees. They said he was also the best basketball player in those schools. After hearing that I always thought there was a correlation between basketball skill and QB'ing. I would guess it relates to controlling the parabola on the ball and hitting the target precisely.
My cousin sacked Drew Brees in high school, trust me.. We hear about it at every reunionSome of my friends in Austin grew up attending Jr High and HS with Drew Brees. jetskiing? NoWhat's the line drawn on 'extracurricular activities'? Should he not be allowed to go jetskiing? Go surfing? Ride a mountain bike? Beach volleyball? Ride a big roller coaster? Play drummer in a heavy metal cover band? Can he potato sack race at a family reunion?
Sincerely, where's your very specific line drawn?
If Stroud was actually smart and performed well when under pressure, this would be a good comparison.I'd made a kind of Stroud/Burrow comp in a different thread, so as it pertains to the direction of this topic..
Joe Burrow could have gone pro in a very different sport
Slow is smooth, smooth is fastSlow moving body? To me CJ is more of a smooth player
Smooth is fast?Slow is smooth, smooth is fast
It was just a publicity thing and they were just funning around.CJ has no business risking injury playing other sports. His focus should be preparing for his rookie season in the NFL. He certainly did against Georgia. If Stroud was actually smart and performed well when under pressure...
Yea, nobody is going to confuse CJ with Isaiah Thomas but he moves a lot better than most give him credit for.video didn't show him moving on the couurt
he's got a slow moving lower body
My wife calls me Mr. Fast. She knew all along it meant smooth. She smart.Smooth is fast?
Here, I thought my wife was complimenting me by calling me Mr. Smooth.
My line is drawn where activities known to cause serious inury takes place. So I would say no to many of the activities you mentioned. At least when preparation for football season and football season itself takes place. That's just me though. So if the team has no problem with any and every activity that players are involved in I shall say no more in regards to what those players do. Unless of course a major injury takes place then we can revisit this post.It was a chill shootaround style pickup game with friends.

Um, No. Burrow couldn't play in the NBA. Scoring 20 points a game in HS doesn't mean much.I'd made a kind of Stroud/Burrow comp in a different thread, so as it pertains to the direction of this topic..

It's deceptive. That's why I said Kyle Anderson. It wasn't a pejorative. I remember the Spurs drafting him and the knock was he was slow, but when you actually watch him play it is just being very smooth and cerebral. Angles, spacing, and so forth. Boris Diaw was the same way. In any video I've seen of him playing basketball, he wasn't overwhelming anyone with raw power or speed. He was just smooth.Yea, nobody is going to confuse CJ with Isaiah Thomas but he moves a lot better than most give him credit for.
I mean, he was the second leading scorer in the entire state of Ohio his senior year. There are somewhere around 800 high schools in the state that have a basketball program. I'm not saying he was a lock to go to the NBA, but the guy who was a top 5 high school player in two sports and holds the NCAA Power 5 record for TD's in a season probably would have done well at the college level should he have chosen to go that way.Um, No. Burrow couldn't play in the NBA. Scoring 20 points a game in HS doesn't mean much.
If it was more or less a simple shoot around than that is okay.It was just a publicity thing and they were just funning around.
No, why should it have? Just a pro athlete with a sexual assault/addiction scandal hanging with his close platonic friend the porn megastar.I certainly may have missed it, but did something bad come of him hanging out with Mia Khalifa?
Furthering that, are there some string of bad outcomes from the vast number of people who've spent time hanging out with Snoop recently?
There's already language in NFL contracts that speak to what you're saying..My line is drawn where activities known to cause serious inury takes place. Yes, there are some things pro athletes aren’t allowed to doThe NFL’s uniform player contract is vaguer, disallowing players from “any activity other than football which may involve a significant risk of personal injury.”
..unless you count O.D.ing on funyuns and cheeto puffs.I certainly may have missed it, but did something bad come of him hanging out with Mia Khalifa?
Furthering that, are there some string of bad outcomes from the vast number of people who've spent time hanging out with Snoop recently?
Nobody knew at the time that he had his oddball habits so that wasn't whatsoever a source of criticism, which is clearly of importance. And also, results matter, in which nothing bad that we're aware of came of it.No, why should it have? Just a pro athlete with a sexual assault/addiction scandal hanging with his close platonic friend the porn megastar.
That is nowhere near as bad as Snoop being introduced to Stroud as a young athlete after his dad was incarcerated and following/supporting his career to the point where CJ calls him Uncle.
That's just bad life decisions by Stroud.
No excuses.
I was channeling a certain poster...Nobody knew at the time that he had his oddball habits so that wasn't whatsoever a source of criticism, which is clearly of importance. And also, results matter, in which nothing bad that we're aware of came of it.
Snoop has guided/mentored truckloads of young athletes, is there a track record of this being problematic. Again, results matter, no?
You need to stop this nonsense. Go listen to his mother’s interview I posted. What’s the purpose of this post?Is Stroud / Snoop Dog a repeat example of poor choice of association by a Texans QB?

Difference sports for one. You don't know the competition level. You can be all-state at a Class 2A in Texas and not be in the same CLASS, skill level-wise as an all-state 6A player. I've seen Joe Burrow move, he doesn't have the quickness for a 6'4 guard in the NBA. Not even close.I mean, he was the second leading scorer in the entire state of Ohio his senior year. Things are a bit different in Ohio the way they categorize high schools, but he did play at a Division 1 school which is their highest level. This wasn't a Western Kentucky QB owning the NCAA record for TDs in a season type of stat.Difference sports for one. You don't know the competition level. Read post #38Everyone calls Snoop Uncle. That’s like a nickname.
Typical crap from judgemental people.
Why so serious? You need to stop this nonsense. Go listen to his mother’s interview I posted. What’s the purpose of this post?
Don’t forget about this guy Snoop is friends with! Very concerning indeedThis is obviously a bad choice by Stroud, Snoop is known to hang out with convicted criminals, just look
