Cincinnati Bengals @ Houston Texans. 11/23. Noon. CBS. **Official Gameday Thread**

Hey guys. My son and I had a great time at the game yesterday and are headed back to the cold in a little bit. NRG stadium has a great environment for the fans and everyone was great with my son and I.

Can't really complain about the a texans not being able to run. The stats don't show what the Bengals defense looks like when players are healthy. I mentioned how they use Maualuga differently and it showed yesterday.

Closer to shut down than blown out ?? Maybe but the Bengals controlled that game. If not for the pick 6 that game wasn't close in score. Had the Bengals secondary held on to 2-3 of the 5 throws that hit them in the hands and the game is a laugher.

I'll be rooting for the Texans with my son the rest of the way, but that loss hurt them with the Colts winning and having a fairly easy schedule the rest of the way.

Again, great time and good luck the rest of the way !!

Good luck to your team as well.
Glad you had a great time, now go win the division.

We either needed to get physical at the line, or we needed to drive on those catches & break them up. Instead, they were waiting on the catch then tackling.
Absolutely missed KJ, he is our best complete DB (physicality with some cover ability).

Giving their WRs 10 yards cushions might've help that too. Pisses me off. Easy slants, curls, crossing routes, etc.

I can't stand bend, but not break defenses. We keep hiring these stubborn old DCs

It was definitely the way the game plan was drawn up. The cushion against Green is understood b/c I don't think we have a DB that can run with him step for step, hell he would probably run right by our safety too playing deep. One pump fake or a missed bump within 5yds and it's off to the races.

On the other side Sanu would probably manhandled most of our DBs at the LOS. Bouye was on him and he is a lil bigger than Morris but that was not working.

Either way it wasn't working early and RAC could have adapted sooner. Our young DBs will get better.

I don't have a problem with the cushion, I don't like the way we played after the ball was in the air. It's not like we have the DBs to punch them on the line, then keep up with them.

We held Sanu & Green well below their avg for the year. We kept both of them from making big plays. We made Cincinnati work & find a way to win that game. So while it may not have been flashy, they did their job.

They even put 7 points on the board to help the offense. They could have played better, sure. But they were outmanned & outgunned to begin with.

12 for 121 is not well below his average. We played more press in the 2nd half and it worked for the most part. Why we waited that long? Who knows

Also, why the heck didn't we have JJo mirroring Green? We have in the past and it was successful

Eh, it's whatev. I kinda knew the O would stink this year, but had high hopes for the D. RACs defense has sucked. It's not any better than Wade's

O'Brien on the safety yesterday: "That's on me. That's a bad play call." #Texans

Maybe so, but imo, Foster would've seen the cut back lane that was there. Blue didn't and made the attempt to stretch outside, Myers and Brooks were blown into the back field....safety

There wasn't a cutback. Bengals had 3 guys over Myers/Brooks, blew both back into the end zone and Blue was "tackled" by Myer's feet.

It was a bad call that probably should've been checked out of.

A mind-numbingly bad playcall.

That and the, what was it, 2nd & 6 and 3rd & 6 plays while we were in the red zone that ended up being pointless as hell forcing us to end our drive with a field goal?

Yeah, those were awful too.

Actually I believe there was a cut back lane that Foster would have seen. Blue never even looked in that direction. You're right though about Blue feet getting tangled with Meyers leg. That caused the tackle. Not Bengal touched him until he tripped and fell. Had he not tripped over Myers leg he may have gotten that run outside.

I agree it was a stupid call to try and run outside.

I have said it before, Blues vision is no where near Fosters (which is fine for now, but he needs to improve).

I think AF hits that cut back and goes 99 (although he isn't overly fast so he would probably be caught from behind)

Before Fosters hammy issues he had a 5th gear to take it to the house, but now he only has 4th year.

He's still a stud when healthy but has already lost a step when it comes to top in speed.

I don't think Foster was ever a threat to take it 99 yards.

When healthy this year, he's looked better than he ever has. Poetry in motion.

I agree, I love foster and I am in the minority when it comes to keeping him beyond this season, but he did not ever have a 5th gear. Even when he broke long runs, they were usually broken tackles, not "get away from the cops speed" :kitten:
