OK. So, the game was GREAT. Several days later and neither my wife nor I can talk right.
After the game, Audrey and I walked to the Green lot, got in our car, and then we drove down Westridge toward South Main. We're in the car talking about how great the game was, which plays we remembered, etc.
And then BAM.
A car came out of one of the apartment buildings and totally crashed into us. It knocked us over from the second lane almost over into the fourth lane. I ran over at least 2 of the cones.
And then the guy sped off.
I chased him a little bit while Audrey and I semi-memorized his license number. We chanted it together a few times. Then I slowed down as Audrey wrote the number down and I pulled into the strip center there where the Speedy Mart is on Bartell. Audrey couldn't open her door and get out. I walked around the car and the passenger side was just totally crunched.
Audrey has some bruises on her legs. We've both got tweaked necks.
A couple of people came up and told us they saw everything that happened and they were nice enough to wait around until the cops showed up.
After talking to the police and giving them all the information they wanted, and after a quick examination by a couple of ambulance guys, I drove the car back to the hotel and then we dropped the car off at the rental office at Hobby before flying home. I expected some grief from the car rental people but they were fine with it as long as they got their case # from the police.
The police called tonight and said that they think they've arrested the guy. But since we didn't actually see who was driving the car, the person might get off. I'm going to call on Monday and get a status on the case.
But it was a great game. First time I've been to a professional Houston football team's game and had them win with me there.
