Chamberlin?

Overtraining
Anyone know anythig about this Chamberlin fellow we signed? Nothing against him, but if we cut him, why did we resign him to be a starter? Wasn't there someone with some talent we could have picked up before the trade deadline? Don't we have someone on the practice squad that we could move up to take the spot of Wong or another backup or is Chamberlin signed to be the backup of the guy who is filling in for Wong?

Chamberlin was probably the Texans' best defensive player in the preseason. He led the team in tackles in at least a few games.

As far as his role goes... probably just "depth".

Who knows. With this coaching staff Chamberlain may be better than Wong & Greenwood but got cut anyway. They don't have an eye for judging talent and they sure can't design plays around players strengths.

On the front page it says he will be the replacement for Wong. Hopefully he will be able to contribute to the team right off the bat. The good thing about him is that he hasn't been here all season so he's not beat mentally like the rest of our squad. Maybe his enthusiasm will be contagious to the defense.

Go 'Stros..........I BELIEVE BABY>>>WS HERE WE COME!!!

the one thing chamberlin gives you is a high motor...he doesn't necessarily have all the physical tools you want but he does have that never die motor...his ability to make plays is his weakness...but he did have a really good preseason...he was one of the guys i thought we should have kept and cut polk instead...but that was just me...anyways...he'll probably fit in as a back-up rotational guy...keep in mind he'll be rotating with polk and evans...so don't expect to see him on the field that much

No, what it says is Chamberlain will fill Wong's spot on the roster. A WR could have been signed and he would have filled Wong's spot on the roster. Capers has already said Polk will get the start and make the D calls.

Well, I think that he is a good sign. I doubt that we could have gotten a reciever taht would have had an impact. Besides, maybe this means that Johnson is coming back.

No offense, but you need to take another look at that transaction. My point was simply that filling a roster spot is not the same as taking over the starting role from. We hypothetically could have filled Wong's roster spot with a WR it wouldn't have meant he was becoming a starting ILB. It was in response to someone else's misapprehension.
