CB fill in?

With the new mention of Ty Law claimed to not be going back to the Jets next year. Do you think we can get him and if so would you want to go after him to play opposite Dunta Robinson?

He is a 32 yr old corner. He had 10 picks last year so I would go after him with the idea of keeping him maybe 3-4 seasons. In that time we can find another solid CB to replace him and team with Dunta.

Probably the main reason we had so few picks was that all of our corners were young, they had no veteran leadership.

I think depending on price he would be a good pickup for 2 years. And i f we could somehow snag Archuletta also,we could draft a couple of good DB's that would have excellent tutors to get them game savy by 2007-2008.

right when i heard he wasn't returning to the jets, I was very excited... even though the texans probably wont land him... it would be great to have him. He is a great corner and I would put him againt marvin harrison and throw dunta against reggie wayne, and we could finally defeat the colts, or have a chance. Also having Phillip Buchannan as a Nickel Back and then Faggins as a Dime back, adds a lot of depth in the defensive backfield. As far as safetys are concerned, a veteran safety would be great, I would really like to keep Glenn Earl in the starting rotation, I watched him quite a bit at Notre Dame and he makes plays and has a good head on his shoulders, with two years under his belt, and a lot of starting time this past year,i think he can assume the role and do a good job.

Either way, sign Law... Id be happy with it... and as far as the price, we have a lot of overpaid players as it is, law can't really be overpaid, because his field production is always top notch.

I think that would be amazing, no doubt, but like most of the FAs you have to convince them to come to the worst team in the NFL with promise or price. Would we be able to pick up Ty Law and Abraham if we traded down with the Jets? that would give the Jets something for basicly nothing (both going into FA), and we get two veteran, probowl defesive players that could give some leadership to a young team. IMO, worth the price/ability of RB or VY.

Ty Law is on the downside of his career, and is not and should not be a FA acquisition for us. If we wanted him might as well kept Aaron Glenn, since that is not the case we will deal with the CB situation in the draft likely in the 2-4th round somewhere. Hopefully a guy like Jonathan Joseph, Richard Marshall, or Demario Minter. All three of those guys are fast and tough. Ty Law will likely end up back with NE or he will go to a team that is close to winning a championship.

the only reason we'd go after him is if kubiak decided to play alot of man coverage- no reason to waste all that cap if all he'll be doing is playing zone which alot of cheaper cbs can also do. he'd be a nice pickup though

He lead the league in penalties and got his INTs in large chunks against bad QBs (and one or two from a RB throwing the ball)

You do not want him.

I thnk Law should be a consideration since we lost Glenn, Wright and McCree and didn't really replenish the corps, if you call P_Burnt an addition then check yourself into the crazy house. Law would be an immediate upgrade at our CB spots and gives a little more time to draft another one to replace him, it makes all the sense in the world.

I dont see Law coming to a 2-14 team as a FA .... If I were in his shoes I'd be looking to sign with a team that has a legitamite shot at the SUPERBOWL even if it were at a discount .....New England , Pittsburgh , Carolina , Denver , or Indy

He would be great to add but I can't see it, I cant see many FA's signing with Houston until the team can prove themselves
