Draft Guru
Tossup #3: "More of a bust Carr or Harrington?"

Tony "...Carr has regressed but Harrignton is still bad. its Carr..."

Wilbon "...Harrington has all those options, whereas Carr has no Offenisve line. Its harrington..."

Just an interesting look to see how the National Media Perecives Carr and the Texans.

I am suprised, they usually arent this clueless. I guess the national media doesnt watch many Texan games though so they cant see the real problems.

Carr has had his potential busted right out of him from too many friggin' sacks! He's already taken more sacks than most QBs take in a career. Then add in all the knockdowns and hurry ups, I have to wonder why he even bothers anymore.

IMO, if he had been selected by an established team on their way up, we'd be hearing about one of the great up-and-coming QBs right now.

Whoever would have been put in his position from year 1 would have suffered the same fate that he experienced.

It's Harrington

He has a rating of 15 when he gets blitzed
he has a rating of 56 on 3rd down
He has a rating of 32 on throws past 10 yards
He completes 41% of his first and 10 passes

Harrington is worse than Kyle Orton.

They have both been pretty dissapointing as top-5 picks.

True, but geez, the Lions have 7 1st round picks on offense and can't make things work. Wow, that is bad. How about Kevin Jones averaging 2.9 ypc?

Harrington. He has the receiving core many teams would dream of having and still can't do anything.

I wouldn't exactly call 2 injured guys and a dude that's played 9 games in 3 years and is currently suspended a dream receiving corps.

Very true, but if Harrington cant do anything with the offense that has been handed to him then he has to be the biggest bust. Carr hasnt really been given a chance to show what he can do because he is running for his life. I think Carr's career up to this point has been the most disappointing just because he hasnt been given that chance.

This is what you get when you don't build your offense around the TRENCHES. Defense too for that matters.

Even with Boselli and Young at the time we should have drafted a stud with the first pick.

I mean would have been so crazy for us to have taken Julius Peppers with the 1st pick overall..........Dwayne Freeney...........Bryan McKinnie. TRENCHES.

7 first rounders and 3 top 10 picks as WRs. I don't know of many teams that can boast that.

Carr & Harrington were just discussed again on PTI with Aikman. Aikman expected big things from Carr this year but didn't offer any analysis except lots of pressure. About Harrington, he said he has enough arm strength to make it in the NFL and that Harrington has become the focus for all the blame for a team playing bad D and sloppy, undisciplined football including two of the three WR's sleeping in meetings.
