I found it interesting an it provided some information. Each will have their own take on it. I was interested in hearing that David has had the play book for awhile. Apparently other players haven't seen it as yet. He and Kubiak are working together. I though he was somewhat guarded in his responses, but I would suspect there are reasons at this stage of the game considering all of the publicity around the QB situation.

It was very low key and I noticed John's head in the picture and he asked some questions, but he didn't get too much info. Sherman is apparently not involved at this point with Carr. Looks like Sherman is focusing on the O-line which would make sense.

Ibar just watched the video, had to keep it low as to not alert my coworkers that I am doing nothing until after lunch, but Carr sounds confident and ready to lead this team. It will be interesting those first mini-camps and what not to see how he has picked up the playbook, and also how Kubiak has approached his footwork and reads.

Look, I've nothing but love and respect for Kubiak. He and I are about the same age and we're both native Houstonian. I've followed his career from high school to the pros. In fact, my high school football team played his high school, Kubs was the QB. If I remember correctly that was back in 1978, we won that game. So, I which nothing but the best for him and the Texans.
But, I've serious concerns about our QB. If Kubs can turn around David Carr, that would great. Personally I don't think that's possibe. I hope I'm wrong. However, some of those Carr supporters on this board has gone completely goofy! Over the last two years Carr was the worse QB in the NFL. Maybe second worse.This guy leadership skills are zero. He's not a winner, period. Also, there's something egregiously flawed with our front offfice and with CC in particularly. It's my understanding that Carr is CC's pick and he that refuse to admit that he made a mistake. Anyway, we'll see if Kubs can correct this disfuncutional ship call the Texans.

Last year, I stopped wearing Texans items by the third home game. Carr was horrible, but so was everyone, and cheering for anything last year was hard. Let's see....Dunta picked off Manning.......Shantee Orr..........Jonathan Wells.......Mathis........we had pretty good punt coverage.......annnnnd that's about it.

Kubiak sees something there, so I'm giving him some credit for his experience. I'm pretty excited to see what he and that entire staff can do with this team.

Carr was not that bad in the 7-9 season.

Can you believe he was sacked 49 times his best year?? Which I think is good that he did well, I'm impressed with his stats from that year, but you have to admit....... that's kinda odd.

I am glad to hear that he has a copy of the playbook.... or a playbook, & that he and Kubiak are working together so early..... Kubes got a pretty important decision to make in April, so he needs to be sure he knows Carr..

I didn't get a whole lot out of the video myself; it looked like a bunch of sound bites to me. I liked hearing that he was starting to get the lingo of the new system down and that other players are looking to him for answers. Also, I like David's comment about the system working in Green Bay and Denver so the onus in on him to make it work here.

I really hope David can get it together.

Let's not forget what they did in Denver with Jake Plummer. A QB that literally SUCKED in Arizona, but a change did him a world of good and now is a very productive QB ranking in the NFL now. Granted he moved to Denver, but "Denver has moved to David Carr and Houston" similar change of coaching and I think the change will be great for David. I still swear if we do not fix the O-LINE to become more unified, you could put a top notch QB and still land on his keester. what I am amazed by is the durability of Carr after all the hits he has taken and still is a leader enough to get right back up and in the mix of it all for what... to get JACKED again. This guy is a LEADER and a WARRIOR. I am telling you with much confidence... If the line can give him 2-3 seconds he will make plays. when you only have less than 2 seconds plays do not even get a chance to develop.

Are there actual Carr supporters on this board that dont see Carr's flaws. I support the guy eventhough admittedly I did not till about the GB game last year. I was a main advocate in my circles saying we should take Peppers, his type of athleticsm was just rare. Maybe why I like Mario so much. Anyway, I see Carr for what he is an extremely talented QB who was, is mistrained. His footwork can get dodgy, he looks like a gunslinger but does not trust the idea to just let the rock fly. With his arm he should be trying to fit it through holes in the zone. Yeah some will question his accuracy, but I dont he is one of the more accurate strong armed guys in the league. And above all get rid of the ball when there is nothing there, how many times does Peyton still in the box just throw it over his receivers head just because no one is open or throw it at the feet of a RB near. That is just learning the nuances of the position which I believe Kubes can help him with. I dont need Pro-Bowl from Carr eventhough I think he can get there, I just want him to solid. If he puts up numbers like 2004 with 6-10 more TDs then I am going to be estatic and we will win some games.

I totally agree w/ you on that. Carr is very capable if given time to go through his progressions, and he's not that bad scrambling either. I'm sure Kubiak can do nothing but help him improve, but we still need a lot of work on the O-line. (Which still has yet to be addressed). There are plenty of veteran FA linemen available to provide leadership, and seeing as how CC has let all of our vets go, veteran leadership will play an important role next year. What's the word on any linemen visits scheduled? Does anyone know anything about Kenyatta Walker OT of the Bucs? I saw he was an unrestricted FA as well and is heading into his 7th year.

See, the problem is that he was ONLY sacked 49 times that year...funnily enough, that was his best year, which translated to AJ's best year, DD's best year and our best year as a team.

Mathis and Wells got a lot of practice returning kick offs thanks to Capers' defense... it is easy to rack up return yards when you are returning two or three a quarter.

Yeah......why do you think the punt coverage was so good, too?
