Man you guys are Crazy, it's like Two Brothers who have to choose between getting an XBox or Ps2 for Christmas, and you both think the other is the best; and your Mother gets fed up and gets you a Game Cube! (Dbrick) lol anyway... You know I like Vince Young; I think he will have a better career than David Carr I really do.
David Carr has it's up and downs like all NFL QB's, but really folks let's say 20% was coaching, 20% No quality Offensive Line, and 10% No play makers to give the ball to, only than a doubled Andre Johnson.
That's 50% of David Carr's problem and the other 50% is David's own. OK that's pretty much fair. With that being said, David is like in the middle of the pack as far as starting QB's, he's not dead last.
A number of teams would love to have David Carr,(Miami,Oakland, Etc.); just to go on to say he's a solid QB with room for growth. We hired a New Coach who also was a QB's coach, That's taking away say 15% of the Coaching Problem, (Ex, Plays called, Blocking Schemes) leaving just 5% error or room for improvement. On to the offensive line.
I feel we will go out and spend money on a Veteran Lineman, not maybe the best, but one who would fit the mold into this zone blocking scheme. He's going to help anchor the line with the rest of our guys.
Then comes the Guys we already have, with Improve coaching and better schemes I think they improve immensely; Also add a high round tackle or guard from the draft to the mix, maybe first in the second or one of our high 3rd's will solve say 15% of that problem in this off season as well, with 5% error or room for improvement.
OK let's go with the play makers. In Carr's first couple of years, He made Billy Miller look like the Man! We need to get David Carr that sure handed dump off guy again in a pass receiving TE, and this the year to do it. I feel Mercedes Lewis will be there or someone like Fasano on the top of the 3rd round. We also need someone aggressive as far as a second WR maybe Moss from Miami in the draft of a Randle El type; Surely where getting Reggie Bush.
He can Run (LT.) He can catch and receive (Faulk) He can Block as well (Emmitt), He probably can throw! (Trick Plays, Reverse's etc.). He's a multi dimensional player, not even mentioning special teams. If you got a player who the defense must take account for and his name is not Andre Johnson, then my friend you got some play makers on your team, so with all of that 10% of your problem with play makers are gone.
So with Kubs coming in helping David Carr being a better QB giving him his confidence back, helping him being a more vocal leader on this team. I feel David's fault will go down by say 25%. I feel he's going to be the most improve player come next year. Mark my words. Nothing Against Vince Young, very great talent, but as far as this TEAM goes I feel the Organization as well as Kubs wants to win now and they don't have time to baby-sit and teach someone how to be an NFL QB; Then try to explain to the masses they want to win now.
Carr know the game from experience in playing for 4 years; Now it's time to make him into a better QB.David won't be the face of the franchise any longer, Bush will be that guy. That takes a lot of pressure off of him. He won't be the focal point any longer.
Teams must respect the run and pass, and the pass action; Plus Carr can run and with an added bonus should have a good quality TE to throw it to in case he gets in trouble.
I love both Reggie Bush and Young. No matter what I'll root for them both, but IM a realest and the Gods in the skies are pointing at Reggie Bush, so may his work be done Amen.
