I'm still amazed at the knuckleheads who keep bringing up this get rid of the "Broken" Carr - bangign the drum that he sux and is not a starting NFL - QB.
Wake up folks - like I said in another thread -
Unless you were not watching last weeks game DC scored just as many points as the Cinci QB Carson Palmer
Thats 7 for you who didnt see it.
7 points with 7 sacks
opposed to Palmers 7 points with 2 sacks
Their QB ratings were almost exactly the same.
Wow I guess Cincy better get a new QB too huh because their 4-0
Honestly its pretty fricckin hard to throw the ball, execute a play or even think when you have 2 seconds before your pancaked by a 400 ound guy who wants to kick yoru butt. Pressure constantly in your face makes you have to always make snap decisions - How many QB's in this league have had to face the pressure and amount of sacks DC has in his first 4 years and still managed to produce consistently great every year???? Very very very few I can tell you. Nobody has as many sacks as his first year or even this year and to try and pin that on him is just ignorance. Sure he makes a few mistakes - Every QB is this league does - the best just try to limit theri amount of mistakes. But he's not making the Majority of the mistakes to cause those sacks - his teamates are. Hes on pace to break his first year sack record and I will say some is his fault - but a majority of the time it's not his fault at all - just lack of talent on a bad O-line. It's the coaching staff and FO's fault for not doing their jobs to protect him and for basically leaving him out to dry which is why I said in the off-season I would be surprised if DC doesnt start taking the approach of trying to protect hiimself this season and when it comes contract time doesnt want to re-sign with the team unless they guarantee to change things.
IMO - Give David an O-line and a playbook that says PASS PASS PASS then run and you will see a very different David Carr.
as i mentioned in another thread if David gets injured and the team is forced to play Banks and Ragone for the rest of the season. Then everyone including Banks and Ragone will see the beating hes taking first hand as everyone in the league will be pinning there ears back and blitzing
And why wouldnt they - weve certainly shown we cant protect anyone. You think their going to hold back on the Back-up QB?
Its pretty funny now looking back in the off-season when I said DC is going to have a very rough year because the management hung him out to dry on the O-line even after the Owner of the team told them to fix things -
Now 0-3 and nobody is saying any different
The staff obviously didnt get the same message everyone else heard from Mr Mcnair and I forsee a majority of the staff following Palmer pretty quick. After 5 years of this mismanagment [4 years with players and 1 year before the team played] how many people think will be left?
I keep bringing this up - FYI - This is year 5 folks of this teams 5 year plan - Look up Dom Capers and CC's contracts and when they were brought on staff if you dont beleive me.
Building an Offense starts with a QB and then its all about protection - and protecting your investments - This staff has shown they have no plan at all when it comes to doing that and imo doing their jobs they have been paid to do.
IF I were Mr Mcnair I would put everyone from top to bottom on notice except 2 people - Hoke and the Special Teams coach Marciano - nobody else has shown to do anything else but mismanage the players and jobs they have been given years to produce with. I would go out and get some "Proven" winning coaching talent if and wherever it was available and bring em in here to show the players they decide to keep how to win as they certainly got loosing down pat at this point.
