Cardinals Safety Finds Part Of His Middle Finger In Glove After Tackle

Arizona Cardinals safety Rashad Johnson lost part of his left middle finger during Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

According to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic, Johnson’s injury occurred while he was tackling Darren Sproles on a punt return. He realized what happened after he took his glove off and a piece of his finger was still in it.

Johnson had surgery Sunday night, as Somers reports that doctors had to shave the down the bone to repair it.

Phrases like "shave down the bone" are always fun to read.

Heard about that one on the drive in, the comedians at 610 were saying "Well put the glove back on then!"

My neighbor had something like this happen to him at work. Got his thumb crushed in between some heavy steel shelving (like the kind you see at Costco or Sam's) and was wearing gloves. Got his hand out of there and said he was holding his thumb and thinking "Holy crap that hurts!" and knew he was bleeding but had no idea how bad it was. Took his glove off and everything past the last knuckle stayed in the glove. The end of his thumb just got pinched off. It all sewed back together ok though. Looked pretty gross though.
