byebye peterson

im guessing theyll move him to OT, seeing as they signed him to a $50 million deal. the only player they would probably pick instead of peterson is joe thomas if he fell to 3. now that OT isnt as big of a need as it was a day ago, they will probably go with Peterson. thus, we cant pick peterson, making me very mad.

Dockery got a similar deal, at around 49 million. Their deals were also similar I think to Steve Hutchinson...could be wrong there. So far the market has favored the FAs..typical in the early goings.

what? they're not moving him. he's a guard.

I recall reading that they intend to start him at right tackle. He got a hair more than Hutchinson last year, but at least they can say they spent that money on a tackle not a guard. We'll see how it works out for them.

That being said it is possible they could take Thomas, I guess. It depends on Detroit since they re-signed Backus and acquired Foster from Denver one does wonder whether they are still looking at Thomas.

STEINBACH SIGNS WITH THE BROWNS

Several published reports confirm that the Cleveland Browns have signed offensive lineman Eric Steinbach. The deal is worth $49.5 million over seven years.

Steinbach is expected to play right tackle for the Browns.

The deal exceeds by $500,00 the contract signed last season by guard Steve Hutchinson with the Vikings.

We reported on Thursday night that Steinbach already had an agreement in principle with the Browns. And, let's face it, there's no way that much money changed hands based on one day.

Steinbach started his career with the Bengals. Last year, he was arrested for boating while drunk. By trading the Ohio River for Lake Erie, he'll have a bigger margin for error if he decides to do it again.

I'm not sure if they are repeating something official from the Browns or speculating.

If anything it was projected that the Browns would get a DL at 3. I don't think there was ever really a chance of them getting Joe Thomas at 3 considering its almost a lock the Lions take him.

There's one shot we got at him:

1.) Raiders select Calvin Johnson
2.) Lions select Joe Thomas
3.) Browns select JaMarcus Russell

I could see that happening if the Raiders can get a QB.
