This is now a state of Texas thing. No matter what school in Texas you went to.... its time to bring some respect back to this state. I mean Florida, and Cali have had bragging rights WAAAAAAAY too long. I am so sick of seeing this state not play for anything. We need all our recruits to stay within the borders to help all teams.
This is supposedly football country right?? Bringing a NC back to the state can only help everyone.
HOOK EM!!
Yeah, if he runs for over 100 yards, he'll be in elite company such as Stephen McGee (Texas A&M RS-FR QB).uhcougar08 said:I want to see Bush run all over the Texas defense, so people here will shut up about Reggie not being that good. Go Trojans, destroy the Tea Sips!!!
gg no re said:A traitor to the state of Texas in our ranks?
Repulsive!

And Texas will spend time watching the notre dame game and see how they shut down reggie bush and they will watch the fresno state game and see how effective they were ripping apart the usc defense.MorKnolle said:I'm sure USC will spend the next month studying the UT-A&M tape and see how the vaunted, 110th ranked A&M was so effective at shutting Vince down.

MorKnolle said:I don't want to fuel the argument anymore but that's exactly what was said about OU-USC last year, that USC's offense was better than OU's but OU's defense was so much better than USC's defens that they'd win the game. I can't say I agree that UT's defense is faster than USC's offense, but we'll have to wait and see. If I had to put money on the game I'd still say USC wins by about 45-34.

Wanting the Texans to lose in order to get the #1 pick is fine by me, because in all honestly I don't want them winning another game this season, with exception of the Jags. Does it make me a bad fan? I don't think so.
The other just makes me a disgrace to my state, or a traitor, or something.
jerek said:When it comes to the best way to show support for your team, opinion can vary on what that is. However, if I were in the Texans locker room before the game this Sunday, there are a lot of things I might say to them, but at no point in time would I ever, in my wildest nightmares, actually tell them "hey fellas, might as well go on and lose this one, so that way we can bring in the number one pick and get one of you fired."
Honestly! What self-respecting athlete or freakin human being would ever respond to that kind of "support?" If you are a fan of the Houston Texans, you want them to succeed, and success is defined by winning and ultimately winning the big game. For that matter, you tell me the last time a team won the Super Bowl utilizing the number one pick in the draft. Last I knew, the Patriots won three of the last four starring a seventh rounder. I bet the Patriots, when they were losing back in the 1990s, never thought to themselves, let's go lose, that way we can get a pick.
Fans my ***. Look at what you really are: the point is to win the game, not win the draft lottery.
Meanwhile, everyone in Texas is supposed to want UT to win. I hate UT. Other than massive amounts of pretty girls, I despise the time I spent visiting there. I would pull for USC on the basis of wanting to see UT lose. Instead, I am going to kick back and watch what should be a good game between two of college best. If you are a Longhorn, by all means, support your squad, but let's not talk about our NFL team losing out and then in the next breath call people a traitor for not supporting the Longhorns. You bandwaggonist fans are going to get exactly what you deserve, and that is a big fat L in this year's championship. That you could type that with a straight face ...
MorKnolle said:I'm not following the thought process here. We should cheer for a college team from our state just because they are in our state but it's ok to want our pro team, that we have been fans of for four years, to not win another game this year?

We need someone to bring the NC back to FOOTBALL COUNTRY...Texas.
texplayer2 said:I think next year will be the year or rather Jan. 2007. USC will have to rebuild its offense, which should give UT time to win the next one. With Vince back he will also be the front-runner for the Heisman.
Football teams from Texas colleges are primarily made up of kids from Texas high schools. I doubt the Giants or Jets are made up of mostly players from Jersey or New York.tulexan said:I don't see why someone is a traitor for rooting against Texas. Just because you live in Texas does not mean you have to like Texas and support them. I'm sure the NY Jets fans aren't supporting the Giants because they are doing well. And I'm sure the St. Louis Rams fans aren't supporting the Chiefs because they are doing well. Root for who ever you want to.
