Last night on Conan O'Brien Bush said since he is so used to winning at USC that he better get used to losing if he plays for the Texans. What do you guys think of this?

i actually watched it and i think that he didnt mean to say it the way it came out. i think that he imposed that in the NFL u lose games, every team does. he lost 2 games his whole career at USC, while in the NFL, if u lose 2 games u are a lock for the SB.

dont look too much into this, its just a nervous kid getting interviewed on network TV for the first time.

'eh, the truth hurts. Hopefully the losing feeling is not something he's going to have to live with very long!

He also came back and said. It's going to be hard to get used to losing a couple games.

Well, I guess that isn't so bad.

I herd it on the radio so of course all they played is what he said at first, not the whole interview.

It's the Conan O'Brien show, for crying out loud. I bet it was all in jest, because nothing serious gets discussed on that show.

If he said this during a Dan Patrick interview on Sportscenter, I might take him a little more serious. But late night television doesn't give me the the feeling that we need to get worked up over these comments.

I would not necessarily ding him for stating something that was true in the past, but would be interested to see if he mentioned the new staff and acquistions we made that would help propel us to our first winning season.

Anyone know if he said anything like this?

He didn't on the show last night. Over different interviews, I have no idea.

I bet Vince Young wouldn't have said that. Gotta love these Cali boys and their ability to absorb a loss with a smile on their face when the paycheck is right.

no Vince would be too busy showing up making homeless look overdressed and showing off his TWO rolexes

This is something new. A Tsip trying to find the slightest crack in the Bush's armour. Yawn. Wake me up Saturday at 11:15 when we announce that Bush is the next great RB in the NFL and he is going to wear a Texans uni. Deal with it Tsips! :redtowel:

Well, NFL games aren't really "must win", they're more like "must play well".

Yeah and if Vince was worth the number one over all pick then maybe the Texans would of thought of drafting him. But he isn't and Bush is. Hell Vince isn't even worth a first round pick.

Doesn't bother me. He is going to have to accept the fact that the Texans or any other NFL team is not going to win 30+ games straight before a loss. Considering we were 2-14 last year, he better be happy with 8-8 if it comes around.

Ok, I know you might not want vince in houston........but c'mon you have to know that's one of the most ridiculous comments of April right????

Bush seems like a jerk. Young seems like an idiot. But hey, that means nothing in the NFL

This is how the rest of the country views the Texans -- there is only one way to change that mindset.

Win.

Winning will solve everything. No matter who the players are, or where they were drafted.

Maybe Bush thinks Carr is as crappy just like the rest of the NFL

????
Not sure I follow. Alot of what I see, which is ESPN, most seem to think Carr has not had any chance to succeed, most think he has the skills to be a solid QB and I agree.

Frank The Tank is a VY lover, and some of his posts might come off as troll-ish, but I think this thread is pretty much the culmination of 3 months worth of Reggie Vs. Vince talk, for the most part I think everyone is just bustin' balls and having a little fun. I wouldn't try and turn this into a serious discussion.

It was freakin' Conan, not Sunday Conversation on Sportscenter

Great time for him to demonstrate he's an a55.

Andre has made similar statements before in the media, he was another player that came from a extremely successful program, is he an *** too.

I swear some people try to knock down a player for anything. Bush is widely regarded as a very polite, high class, and mature individual.

The dude only lost 1 game his entire collage career and is comming to a team that is only ahead of the Detroit Lions in winning % over the last 4 years. Newsflash Reggie Bush is going to have to get used to losing, as is every other player taken #1 ovrl.

Well, how often did USC go undefeated or lose 1 game in a season?

Now, how many teams only lose 1 game in the NFL in a season?

That's how I took it.

It's not a bad mentality, it's reality.

The whole interview was a joke. Conan was talking all over RB, and Reggie never really got in a word edgewise. Any guest in that circus would have needed some really good improv skills to even get in a response before Conan was off on some caffeine(or other stimulant) fueled tangant.
It was apparent that Reggie was having a hard time thinking of what he wanted to say. He seemed out of his element big time, but was a good sport about it.

In response to your question about whether Reggie mentioned the staff... no way... he hardly had a chance to string one sentence together much less actually talk about the specifics of football.

it's true. he speaks what he feels and i respect that. if anyone thinks bush will transform the team into playoff conteders in one year, you're mistaken. anything above an 8-8 record next year and i'll be astounded. a 5 -11, 6-10, 7-9 season is not a winning season, so he will have to get used to losing. it's not like the texans were 10-6 last year and him saying that. they were 2-14. anyone would think that, he's just saying it, big deal.

Thanks that is what I was trying to extract.

Get used to losing? He's already 0-1 as far as this state is concerned. Getting used to losing to Young EVERY YEAR, when Vince gets drafted by the Titans is what he better be preparing for. And as far as longevity goes, Young will be around allot longer than Bush. Bush won’t finish he’s first year without an injury and miss several games. However, in Bush’s defense, he does bring a better all around game than Young (the ability to play more positions). Now all we need is a QB that can throw (accurately) over 10 yards.

Just another VY Lover! trying to hate on Bush :thumbdown

Ask Tom Brady if gets used to losing in the NFL. The point is he doesn't. The Denver playoff game they lost really got to him and hurt, and he is stepping up his offseason program. But, I guess Bush would just get used to it, losing that is, it is expected in the NFL.

Maybe you can see the fine line there. It takes that extra determination to be a HOF player, which is what Reggie wants to be or people expect him to be.

You can't expect to go undefeated in the NFL, but you should never get used to losing a game or games.

Bush goofed on this one. In his defense though, I don't think he has been in the spot light like this before, Lienart took most of it at USC.

He probably really didn't mean it the way it came out but he is going to have to chose his words better in the future.

Just seems like a **itty attitude if you ask me!

If you don't care,

DON'T RESPOND!!!!

you are taking it the wrong way. Don't have the same poopy attitude just because your beloved isnt going to play here.

Funny thing is, I don't care where he plays. I will always support him. I am not even talking about Young, I was talking about Bush and his attitude about playing here. Why didn't he say something like "I look forward to playing for the Texans and winning some games!" Instead of "Better get used to losing":brickwall

This coming from someone who can't even make up his mind who his team is....:stirpot:
