Buffalo Bills @ Houston Texans. 9/28. Noon. CBS. **Official Gameday Thread**

Damn we suck! Pure luck we're not 0-3 heading to 0-4

Why aren't we using a fullback to make the hole for Foster to run thru?

May I ask why you hate Ryan Mallett so much? Have you seen him play much in the NFL? Nobody has for the most part. He has attempted four passes in three years in the NFL. He hasn't even played that much and you bring up stats about him throwing more INTs than completions.

if we can win with Ryan Fitzpatrick that's fine.
I'm cheering for the Texans to win no matter who's the QB.

I don't hate Ryan Mallett. I'm actually a Michigan fan and was rather fond of him at UM before Rich Rodriguez ran him off. The fact that you immediately jump to believing that I hate him just because I don't believe he is the answer only proves your bias toward him. Just because I'm not a believer means I hate him?

I don't think think he has the mental aptitude to be a successful NFL QB, but I don't hate him and I'm not opposed to him getting his chance eventually. I don't believe it has come just yet, but it will likely come at some point this season. I think he needs more time to get ready and needs to get at least a full week of practice with the 1's before we toss him out there. There is absolutely no need to toss him out there in the middle of a game because the offense is struggling (at every position).

What I hate is this irrational impatience that this fan base has year in and out in regard to QB's and the absurd amount of love that people on this board have heaped onto backup QB's the last few years.

Oh and nice TD drive led by Fitz right there..........

THAT is what will make it possible for the Texans to win this game.

This could be a game changing play. Could change the momentum. We shall see....

I guess no coach has bothered to teach Fitzpatrick to slide feet first........I have yet to see him do so in any game so far. Guess no one cares if he gets injured?

WolverineFan, you could be the quarterback for the Texans and struggling beyond words. But if the Texans win I'd still be happy with you. I just want to win whether it's Fitzpatrick, Mallett or you.

At some point I don't want to hear about the offensive line struggling. Been there and done that from 2002 to 2005.

DeAndre has been one our better 1st round picks. Glad we have him. I would call him the #2 we've been looking for, but recently Andre and he have more been 1A and 1B than 1 and 2 WRs

MSR.

A sane post in a Texans game thread??

Leave immediately, sir.

I don't care who the QB is as long as we win. It is my opinion that Fitz gives us that chance this year. Bill O'Brien appears to agree.

And yea, I don't want to hear about the O-Line still struggling either but they are awful and it's obvious to everyone. Ignoring the fact and putting the blame on Fitz despite that is irresponsible.

Mallet was trying to hurt Fitz it looked like.

Oh...this offense is pathetic. Every game we win with this QB and stable of RBs is a testament to the coaching staff.

So many holes on offense, outside of WRs we have so many holes to fill. Foster while great just looks hurt.

Fitzpatrick had played well today. I wanted to replace him but that int isn't on him and if AJ doesn't fumble we have at least 3 more points. I'm not sure what to do. The running game is just not there. Hopefully the passing game opens it up.

As the passing game opens up more and more, the more likely we see Fitzpatrick playing catch with the D.

Two observations.

One, Red zone defense lined up a yard deep causing confusion. It has advantages if the offensive line fires out they risk being an ineligible player down field. It also gives the defense advantages of Tom Landry's flex defense. Is this an aberration or a new look?

Second, Picket is having an immediate impact at Nose Tackle.

Another thing.

Fine, players can't go low on QBs....can they make that rule for every other position too?

I mean Cushing's career was derailed by players going low, it's insane how much they protect QBs in this league. Let QBs start to suffer rib injuries and we'll start seeing them wear red jerseys

I have no idea.

He reached back to jab the defender with his opposite hand in the end zone. This would be a minor hand check in the playing field, but caught the attention of the refs in the end zone. This would never happen to a fair haired team where they would overlook such action.

Sorry to go against this thread's narrative but Fitz has played pretty damn well in this game, all things considered.

12/15 passing for 151 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. Also converted a third down with our only rushing first down of the game.

AJ ruined a promising drive with a fumble. Fitz did throw a pick, and deserves blame for the placement of the ball. But Hopkins got both hands on it and the DB took it away.

The OL is complete garbage. Dude has no time to throw. And the running game has contributed 7 carries for 1 yard.

Lechler is punting line drive with short hang times. The only punt inside the 20 was a 40 yd (no return) punt barely to the 19 yd line.

NFL doesn't care about protecting defensive players. They don't score points and are therefore not important in the grand scheme.
