Buchannon at Wide Reciever

CyberTexan

Waterboy
I know its crazy but teams have tried it like with Deltha Oneal , Buchannon has the Speed and he can catch hes just scared to hit , so why not try him there and see what happens we cant get any worse , surley he can catch better than Bradford LOL . Here we go , ok im ready to be rediculed LOL :tomato:

If he is scared to hit, think about how he would react seeing a linebacker coming at him...Makes me think of that scene in the Waterboy when Bobby Bouche intercepts the ball and heaves it to the defender...:tv:

I thought about that , but hes good as a return man maybe beacuse hes afraid of being hit , on the other hand WRs knos if you catch the ball or not your still gonna get hit .

If I'm not mistaken, he is on IR.

Beat me to it. :)

I think he's .... Useless as boob's on a boar hog on Defense .

Wouldnt be worth much as a slot reciever cause he's afraid of contact and wouldnt go across the middle ...

May be decent at an outside position ..... but i doubt he would work hard enough to get much PT .

when's his contract up .... end of this season or next ?

Think its time to forget about PBurnt and move on after his deal is done .
Thanks Casserly :brickwall

What really sucks is if I am not mistaken this is the last year of his rookie contract, so if he stays we have to sign him to a new contract and if he is released that's a 2nd and 3rd round pick wasted.

he's signed through next year.

That's what I thought. If we cut him, we basically used a 2nd and 3rd round pick to rent a CB for part of the season. I have a feeling we keep him around for the last year of his contract and he plays nicklelback next season though. Cutting him before his contract is up will show how truly horrible we got screwed on the deal even though everyone knows it already.

This may depend on the next coach and or GM ...... They wont care how bad Capers and Casserly look with this move . He could likely be cut ..... and it wouldnt bother me .

Either way wouldn't bother me really. He's only going to make about $750,000 next season I think. If he can serve as nickelback and punt returner I don't see a problem with it. I don't know what to think about anything with this team anymore really. If they signed him to a 5 year $70 million contract it woudln't surprise me...:goodnight

I think it would be a better idea to start the WR on the team that has world class speed....

plus if Buchanon actually catches a pass he will fumble it when he gets hit

Stop with the bashing! Buchanon is a bust, but a large part of that is that he plays man-to-man, and the texans play zone. Anyway, we should play him at quarterback so we can say he sucked in 06 because of the bad o-line, not because he sux.

I think Buchannon would short arm every catch if there was a defender within 10 yards of him. I'm not through bashing yet, because coverage isn't his only problem. He won't hit an RB.

knowing this team they will probably move him to linebacker. can't you see capers and casserly saying "well he doesn't have the ideal size, but his speed at linebacker is second to none...he should be a probowler at that position"

I've got an idea, why don't we let one more coaching staff give him one more chance next season and then if it doesn't work out (and it won't) we move Buchanon to the unemployment line. That's a position I think he can probably handle.

Next season he doesn't cost anything really so we try again and maybe he performs better in a different system. If he doesn't then kick him to the curb and admit that the move was a lousy idea and should never have been done. Just admit and move on.

On a side note I cringe every single time my team does any business with Al Davis and the Raiders. It's a losing proposition and if I were the GM I wouldn't even so much as pick up the phone if my caller ID said "DAVIS, AL" on it.

Yeah, no way this guy is going to catch a ball with a LB or safety ready to hit him in the mouth.

I know $800,000 isn't that big of a hit on the cap, but if McNair is going to throw away money, I'd like a few hundred thousand. :)
