Broncos Vs Texans Game thread

If the Texans do not play as well as we hope, do we as fans start to worry.? I for one don't, but just wondering what the rest of the herd thinks. With AJ out, G-Funk, and the running game a little banged up, I think we should just wait until the regular season to seek and destroy! :headbang:

I would care to see a little more defensive execution but with the situation at hand I am not expecting it. Injuries and all.

You play the way you practice. If the team was to lose the game because the second or third sting let it get away. Then I will not worry. However if the starters get dominated like they were last week then I will begin to worry a little.

We will see if the fantasy cheat sheets start to shuffle after Tatum Bell makes his debut against our second string run defense.

I guess it all depends on which team decides to take the field today...the one that came out for the dallas game or the one that got spanked by pitts...Id really hate to see this see-saw thing become a routine or a habit.

Guess we'll find out later on tonight.

The 3rd preseason game is the one to watch as the staters will usually play longer and show more of a game plan. I am hoping for a good show from the O & D lines tonight.

exactly... I may be a little gullible, but I do believe that Pittsburgh gameplanned against us and we did not gameplan against them. So, this is the preseason game to measure the current status of this team with. No excuses. AJ, Walker, Payne all won't be playing- but, you know what, that's what happens during the season. Let's see if this team is prepared to handle adversity like that and has the talent and depth to overcome key losses. I'm excited and nervous for tonight. I really don't want to start looking forward to 2005 until January! or at least December!

There's no way the Texans can look any worse than last week, so I'm hoping to see something from our running game, passing game and defense. Denver is a hard team to get a handle on this offseason. Some radio guys absolutely love Jake Plummer and think they'll go deep in the playoffs and others think they're an 8-8 team. I haven't looked at their schedule, but I know the Texans have to go back up there 11/7. Since there's an impending regular season rematch I'm concerned our gameplan may not be our best for this preseason meeting. :ninja:

Too bad Andre Johnson will not be playing tonight. His presence would help us all to better understand how the offense is clicking.

Not at all happy about the lost of his family member, but since it will be rainy out there tonight, I would rather have the guy somewhere safe, than on the field risking injury. Play the first teamers until they look smooth, then pull 'em
Dom! :headbang:

I think your a little late for that. Like two years late. If this team has been known for anything, it's their inconsistency, and that has been the case since the first two games in franchise history. From slapping Dallas in the first ever game, to going to SD the very next week, and being humilated. This is nothing new folks. Until they get that monkey off their backs, they will not be able to get out of the cellar of a great division.

As far not showing a game plan, Capers was quoted as saying he was not worried about it since we play Denver in November, and by then there will be so much film that shows the tendacies and plays of each team, that their is no real reason to not game plan tonight. Having said that, I'm sure both sides of the ball will remain fairly vanilla. After all, SD will be breaking down this film in a week or so.

Carr bootleg? Preseason?

He threw a bad ball to Bradford a minute ago -- Corey had Bailey beat deep.

The OL is moving guys around big time...

bold statement ...

DD is going to carry us into the playoffs.

edit: and hollings is going to make sure it happens! lol

Hollings speed helped on that 27 yard run. Nice opening drive and nice showing by both backs.

WOW, hollings to the outside is golden. he is just that, an outside guy.

All I can say is WOW!! The line really looked great on that drive. So did our backs. Davis is an extra effort guy no doubt about it.

The left side is going to be mowing over people when those two gel. I am so glad that pitts is at guard and Wand seems to be progression well. Lets see how Wand does in pass protection.

Watts is going to be fantastic. Nice reception. Where is the pressure?

The only thing Wand did on Tony's TD was string Bailey wide allowing Hollings to split the corner and the safety. He really didn't touch anyone but he showed good mobility getting out there in a hurry. This one was a combination of Tony picking a good spot and Denver overpursing a bit. There was a really nice seal block by a WR and I couldn't tell who it was - but it looked like Bradford.

Foreman is getting a lot better in pass defense this year.

yeah he looks to be reading well so far this preseason ... lets hope our line comes back healthy and allows him to stay there.
