Broncos vs Texans: Battle Red Game Day Thread

Does anyone else find it curious that for two years in a row we've lost our OC to HC positions, and our team had offensive explosions (creative playcalling)?

Calhoun announces he's headed to Air Force, and I distinctly remember the offense looking better.

Sherman gets announced as Aggies HC and look at tonight: This is NOT the same playcalling I've seen all season. Heck, we're depleted on the oline and trotting Darius Walker out there prominently...

I think Kubiak is a gentleman. He has been allowing his OCs to call the plays, do their jobs, and very rarely overriding them on the call(s). But it's just too much of a coincidence (IMO) that we have done this two years in a row where our OCs have left and we've seen killer playcalling. ALL GAME.

I think Kubiak has been running this show tonight. I think he was running the show last year at this time time. I think Kubiak needs to call the plays. He needs eyes in the booth, to get advice, but he needs to call the ultimate play every time.

I'm not complaining because the defense, and particularly the secondary played great tonight, and stepped up numerous times when needed, but how many interceptions were just straight dropped?

That was weird hearing the announcer saying, "The Texans trying to keep their playoff hopes alive."

It's an improvement.

Isn't that what it is anyway? - OC calls a play, goes through Kubiak to send to QB or change it.

LOL.

This whole thread, you guys have rode the jocks of EVERY player but Sage.

Who among you have said anything about the QB? Where's you're "Atta' boy, Sage! Way to be clutch on 3rd down!"?

(Crickets chirping).

You are on the Schaub bus. And you KNOW Sage is killing him softly.

Sage is on the team, so crack out the props for him, too, if you're about the TEAM.

Sage has been awesome. His only interception was on a tipped pass. No fumbles. No sacks. No goofy plays.

And you won't admit it.

How about some props for the O-line as well. No sacks, very little pressure and great running game. This was the most complete team performence in team history (not saying much, but still).

Where can I buy Mario Williams Pro Bowl jersey from? Needless to say we are witnessing the birth of a super star right here in Mario Williams. The defense dominated the Ponies and the offense got the job done. Awesome job Texans and that was a fun game to watch. Go Texans!!!!

Just a terrific effort all the way around. Got to give Dayne & Ryans credit for playing hurt. As others have said great job by both the offensive & defensive lines. 13 sacks for Mario with 9 in the last 5 games. Looks like he'll be booking a flight to Hawaii at seasons end.

It was also great to see the Texans run the Broncos offense better than the Broncos did. Kubiak & Kyle Shanahan have got to be loving every minute of it right now. Wonder what the conversation with the Shanahans will be like tonight on the ride home.

That was a great all around performance. Sage looked great, the o-line looked great, both running backs looked great, and Mario showed up in beastly fashion this evening. Hell of win.

Here's to .500 and at least tying best record in franchise history!

So far, GP has been right. Rosenfels has been playing amazing the last few games, and has EARNED the right to compete with Schaub for the starting role next season in Training Camp. If he has another great game, I'm really going to start thinking that Rosenfels has a great shot at winning the starter position.

HOWEVER. I think it's unnecessary that you've been bashing people who haven't quite believed in Rosenfels yet. He's UNPROVEN, and been in the league for a while, and in that time, hasn't shown much at ALL. So forgive our hesitance in jumping on the bandwagon as quickly as you have. It'll still take a while for him to get recongnition from the fans, just like it took Mario to get his love. We'll see how the season pans out, but as it stands, Rosenfels really has proved that he deserves a shot at starting for us next season, but as I said...we'll see.

Btw adam, still think OD should be benched? Lol at rash decisions made after disappointing losses.

No opinions about who's been bashing whom, but I agree with everything else here. Sage is looking really good. That tipped pass shouldn't have been thrown, though. Yes, it was tipped, but that first guy should've actually picked it instead of just tipping. It's just one mistake.

Great game, Texans! Don't look now, but we got ourselves a #1 pick!!!:fans:

LOL, "The Texans officially have a QB discussion, not so much a controversy....yet" NFL commentators

Great game, VERY entertaining...love the double-red unis.:splits:
