McDaniels' fired; timing does not surprise some in the NFL. A couple of execs expected it last week. check out Monday Night Coutndown @ 7
Talk about epically ruining a franchise. Traded their best players away and got nothing. Now the next coach gets to pleasure of figuring out what the heck to do with Tebow.
Leading candidate to replace him for the talking heads - Gary Kubiak.
Damn, it was probably that Quinn Hillis trade that did it, or the Spygate deal. Or maybe trading Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffler.

I can't say I'm surprised after all the Broncos are 3-9 after going 8-8 the season before, although two seasons is not enough time to evaluate his performance IMO. Given the scandals and all, it was probably time to let him go.
Makes me wonder why we're holding on to Gary Kubiak after his back to back 8-8 performances.![]()
Do we get draft picks????![]()
So the Broncos are going to have to pay 3 head coaches next year when there might not be any football; I wish I was a Billionaire.

I am envious of their fans. A take-charge owner.Pat Bowlen- Broncos owner said:In the end, I was not satisfied with the results and the direction this team was headed.
Denver East should do the same.
Do we get draft picks????![]()
Sources close to the Broncos told NFL Network's Michael Lombardi that the team is expected to approach former Broncos Super Bowl hero John Elway for a front office position and that if Gary Kubiak were available, then he would be the team's first choice to coach the team next season.
Kubiak, currently the coach of the Houston Texans was formerly the Broncos' offensive coordinator for 11 seasons under Mike Shanahan
It was a move that was a long time coming for team owner Patrick Bowlen, but he's going to pay for the impetuous decision to hire McDaniels before the 2009 season. Whenever the Broncos hire their next head coach, they'll be paying three guys -- former head coach Mike Shanahan, McDaniels and whoever replaces McDaniels -- to coach the team in 2011 ... and they'll owe money to McDaniels and replacement in 2012 as well. When Bowlen fired Shanahan after the 2008 season, he still owed him $21 million on the three years remaining in Shanahan's contract, and McDaniels is owed nearly $7 million on his remaining two years.
Most everything I am reading on their boards the fans want a defnsive head coach. They are talking about Cowher and Leslie Frazier a lot over there.
Eric Studesville will take over as head coach of the Denver Broncos for the rest of the season after todays firing of Josh McDaniels.
Studesville is in his first year as the Broncos running backs coach. Now hell serve as interim head coach for the final four games of 2010.
I am very appreciative of the trust that Mr. Bowlen and the entire Denver Broncos organization have shown in me, Studesville said in a statement. Although the circumstances that this opportunity resulted from are unfortunate, I am excited to lead this football team. We have a great group of players and coaches who are committed to finishing the season on a promising note and making our fans proud of this team.
Prior to arriving in Denver this year, Studesville spent six seasons coaching the running backs in Buffalo and three years coaching the running backs with the Giants.
Studesville has also served as a quality control coach with the Bears and been an assistant at several colleges. This is his first head-coaching position.

People in the NFL sure cant seem to keep their word, or tell the truth.
Mere days after making a statement that McDaniels job was safe for 2011, he fires the dude? Par for the course actually.
I read on the ESPN crawl that the Broncos owner said McDainels could come back next season. WTF is that all about. Does that mean back to the Broncos or to coaching in general?
