Brock Gets The Start

Here is a video clip of THE greatest TD pass combo in college football history, Weeden to Blackmon. Take a look at the 81-yard fleet flicker at the 3:11 mark; Weeden throws the ball 60 yards in the air! The Texans could duplicate this with either Weeden to Hopkins or Weeden to Fuller:

When do you and Weeden do your soup commercial together?

This game is going to be painful to watch. Unless the ghost of Joe Montana inhabits Brock's body on Saturday, I see a 13/29 for 135. It looks like it's gonna be one of these type games for me, to at least get some comedic relief.

:fridge:

Would love to but haven't had that pleasure for many years.

You can have your Cleveland Clowns video, JB. The fact is Weeden has a million dollar arm, and if you surround him with playmakers like Lamar Miller, Hopkins, Mumphries, Will Fuller & Braxton Miller, I guarantee you the Texans will score more than 20 points every single game.

It's Emily Littella! What's all this I've been hearing about a "fleet flicker?"

That said, Weeden looks plenty good & accurate in this vid.

its not like brock was lighting the field on fire he barley beat the jags and we should of lost to the bengals

Yes, I agree it is fishy as hell that Savage came back in to take a knee only to be pulled because of a concussion at halftime. Was this a Case of Bob and Rick told Billy to put the deer in the headlights back in there because we are paying him $37 million guaranteed?

I really think there are legs to all these rumors about Obrien leaving. I don't know if its just because they have a head butting type of relationship or they misled BOB about how much say he would really have in terms of personnel but there is something going on over there and if it implodes they all need to be gone.

Savage has not even had 2 full games in this season and people are writing him off. Give the guy a break already. It's pretty obvious the FO is all in on Brock and OB isn't.
Savage has the talent, but hasn't had the reps. Of course getting out of the huddle, timing with receivers will be off.
Brock has had much more time in this offense in game time speed and hasn't produced much of anything. He looks awful.
The case you could make for the both of them is the God awful playcalling.
Will not surprise one bit if OB is fired but Rick Smith has to go as well.

OB didn't cause him to have a concussion. Savage plays a contact sport. If you want to blame OB so bad, then blame him for playing Savage period. That would be more logical to complain about. Savage needed reps though, and playing him was a risk. It was a risk that no one had a problem with, but that risk still existed and the danger of that risk took place and happened. Savage got hurt. AGAIN. It isn't like OB was playing Savage with a 42-7 lead in the 4th quarter or something.
For all we know he suffered his concussion when he was sacked & stripped of the ball.

I don't get the one play thing.

What if that was in the middle of the second quarter instead of at the half?

Savage risks getting hit again after just sustaining a concussion?

What kind of concussion protocol did he go through that cleared him to get back on the field?

It's the first observation that I wonder about, not so much the second. He was pulled, evaluated on the sideline....then taken to the locker room...then put back into the game.

Something is amiss. Whether or not the injury is legit or not, someone failed here.

Dude, that is no bs the most I have ever laughed at a post in my life! Absolutely perfect response!

This has to be Weeden's mom or something, and I was about to post that when I saw your post. Imagine going into that post to click on the video and watching what transpired as if your were Weeden's mom coming onto a message board to defend his honor. Lol!

Excellent burn and reason enough I'm glad I didn't block you.

Sarah Bishop just tweeted Savage is still in concussion protocol and will not back up Osweiler.

Just heard Brock's press conference - "At the end of the day, there's nothing different between a regular season game and a playoff game".

More regular season-type play from BO. oh joy

Brock is like an "off the field" Peyton Manning. He has all of Manning's confidence, sound bites and external composure. But on the field, it's a totally different story.

I guess Weeden will be active, if accurate. T will be pulling for Oz to have an injury. Looking toward NE, it would be valuable to have another look at Weeden under game conditions.

I'll be pulling for the OC to come out with an up tempo offense & keep the pedal on the metal.

If Savage really is injured (for real), then he's proven beyond a doubt he's injury prone and is of no use to us except as a backup.

If Savage is just fine, the Mr. Someone (whoever that might be) wants assheimer to start instead of Savage.

Either situation sucks for it's own reasons. So, in other words, the Texans suck right now. They won't make it past Oakland, and if they do, they'll NEVER get past the next game.

That I'd only agree with if this wasn't a concussion issue. A concussion does not make you injury prone. If that's the case, half the damn league is injury prone.

How many injuries has he had? How much time has he missed due to injuries? And when he is playing, he's inconsistent. Sorry, but Savage isn't going to save us. Neither is Weeden or assheimer. We're right back where we were this time last year, without a QB worth a crap; a problem that MUST be addressed in the offseason just like last year.

And given the history of O'Brien, what's the chances he actually fixes the QB situation in the off season, or, if he's even allowed to because of assinheimer?

We're in the middle of another giant suck, just like we've been for quite some time.

They were beating a Carr-led Raiders team into the 4th quarter at a "neutral" site. Why do you think they have no chance against Oakland with the rookie Cook making his first ever start in a road playoff game?

He's definitely had issues in the few opportunities he's had, and maybe he is injury prone. I just wouldn't put concussion in that category.

As far as his inconsistent play goes, he's still only played not even the equivalent of 3 full games yet. I'm not saying he's the savior either, just saying not even 3 games does not a career make. He hasn't had enough time to get comfortable, get into any kind of rhythm. Granted, due to injuries, but still. He looked pretty decent one game, not so much the other, but certainly not enough time to pinpoint any flaws in his game. IMO anyway.

Yeah, we're in QB hell. No doubt about that. But that's what happens when you draft just 3 QBs in your 10 year run as a GM, and not one of them higher than the 4th round. There's where the problem lies.

He may have got a concussion that game to knock him out, but lets not forget he was also dealing with a leg injury....the guy is injury prone, it is what it is. Time to move on from Savage

And last I checked that injury wasn't keeping him out of games.
