Brandon Browner

DoCt3rJ

Waterboy
wow neone see his 40's, i was really lookin at this guy cuz of his height to play corner, but i think he ran lk a 4.8 or something =[

Regardless of his 40 time, he was going to play safety in the NFL. An unknown stat about Browner is that he had like 15 illegal contact penalties called against him last season. (I read that somewhere and I'm pretty sure its around 15, I'll look for the article)

40's are overrated

Proof:

Say the word "but" out loud

See how long it took you to say that right? maybe .2 seconds?

How can you really make an argument that if you run .2 seconds slower than a guy that's running 4.6 it's going to make a difference?

He has to cover though, 40 does mean something. When a lineman runs as fast as you, and your suppose to cover WR and TE, I think there is a problem.

I wouldn't mind if the Texans took a hard look at him in the 2nd round (#47) he could be Colemans future replacement @ free safety :)

As a safety net, take instinct over speed
But instincts can help safeties in coverage as much as speed. "With the way the tight end position has evolved, tight ends are like receivers, so the safety position requires being able to play in space, being able to understand what's going on around you," Steelers coach Bill Cowher says. "It's not just running straight ahead. You better have a feel for the running game, a feel for the passing game."

Here ya go...
Some opponents stayed away from Browner this season, but others took advantage of his physical style and went directly at him: He was penalized 17 times for holding or pass interference. He had 41 tackles and broke up nine passes but had no interceptions.

Seems this is an old problem. Here is a quote from early in his career too...
Freshman cornerback Brandon Browner also was called twice for major penalties as the Beavers lost their national ranking (21st and 22nd in the two polls), undefeated status in the Pac-10 and a measure of poise along the way.
"I kind of lost my head out there," Browner concedes. "I got caught up in the game. Can't let that happen again."
