Blue Lot Thieves

Well it took six seasons but it happened at tonights game, thieves struck. For six season I have made it a practice when we go into the game to slid my Texans pop up awning/tent over the bed of my truck a secure it while we are inside. At tonights game we parked at the base of the Blue 16 pole in the corner by the Dome and the arena and had our usual good time. When we returned after the game someone had stolen the pop up and even taken the time to get the case out of the bed of the truck. It really a shame rather than spend the ones to buy their own toys someone would take from a fellow Texan!

Karma is a ***** pal and when it finds you dont say why me!!!!
 
Sadly it happens. You can either lock everything up (which would take forever) or you can hide your name some where on it and subtly mark the outside of your stuff and hope the people are dumb enough to use it in the Blue Lot.
 
While we were walking into the game late from our tailgate stand, we noticed someone had their tent sitting right out there waiting to be taken very easily. I don't know if it was yours, because I don't remember it being in the corner. However, that is messed up that fellow fans would act like trash in that way. Not surprising though, there are a lot of thieves in this city. Sorry that your stuff got stolen, but I wouldn't leave anything out unless I had to for now on.
 
:sarcasm: I seriously don't beleive this story. Reliants parking lot attendants and security would never in a million years let that happen. They are so highly trained at spotting theives that they would be arrested before they even thought about taking something. :spit: Ok I am sorry just trying to make light of the situation and how piss poor security is around there. Sorry to hear about your stuff getting weazed, that really does suck and i'd be a lil pissed myself.

LOL your right I made it up since I was bored with our winning streak! I mean what else was I to do as a Texan fan during this time of success. It sucks but shame on me for not being more careful. However, I have been doing the same thing for six years so I got over confident, in fact most of the tailgaters around us left theirs up by mine was a Texans Logo Tent so I guess it was just to attractive for some dirt bag to resist.
 
I have a Texan logo magnet that I put on the back of my truck. When I park and head to the stadium I always take it off and throw it in the backseat because there is zero chance it would still be there if I didn't.

I realize a pop-up tent is an entirely different matter though. The sad part is whoever took it did so with a crystal clear conscience and is no doubt quite pleased with themselves for getting a free tent.

Karma will circle back around for them.
 
It really kind of ticks me off though!!! If I can spend the money for my 3rd pop-up in 6+ seasons, why can't other people?? I really have NO tolerance for thieves... I hope, with the rest of you, that this lower than scum realizes Karma is a beyotch some day..

Agreed. We had a lot of stuff that could have gotten stolen yesterday, and luckily the thieves didn't walk by our truck. Hell, those basterds might have tried to get in the car and still our meat!!!

I think that I can speak for most people when I say that the thing I love about tailgating is the friendly atomasphere between so many people that don't even know each other. The giving attitudes that everyone has and how generous people can be. Then to see or hear about some petty thieves who come along and take from other fans while they're not their to defend their property is just cowardly.
 
Speaking of Tailgate thefts...

I had an employee have the Tailgate taken off of her Ford truck last week. I have access to the video surveillance cameras and was able to go back and see the act in progress. I was able to get a Make and Model on the offenders' truck, but the resolution was not good enough to get a license plate #.

The scary part is that the whole process from driving into our parking lot, stealing the tailgate, and then driving away took a grand total of 44 seconds.

Man, what a bummer. We've had magnets and flags stolen before. We lock up everything now. You just can't trust people these days unless you know them personally.
 
my dad told me a long time ago " don't put people in a position to trust them, family or friends" , i lost a magnent and was pissed ( luckily it was a 2 pack ). i firmly believe in karma. terrible story
 
I really appreciate the support! Thats what I love about this board and Texans fans in general(except the tent stealing ones) is the support we give one another. Its really not about they money even though that sux, I happily spend more on food and beer each week and gladly share with friends and neighbors as many of you do! Its just a damn shame that it happens at all let alone at a football game where we shoudl all be getting away from the other BS we deal with all week long. I am going to by the ugliest damn tent I can find to replace it and just hang my Texans signs and flag from it since they are easily removed and can be put away, well maybe not the ugliest cause I could never hav a tent with a Titans logo!
