Blow this team up and start over

Not to make light of a tragedy, but what happened today was as expected to occur as New Orleans getting flooded out by a big hurricane. I have been very uneasy about the progress of our team this offseason and the preseason. Our moves have been head scratchers. We don't improve a terrible offensive line, we don't get a decent 3rd much less a 2nd receiver, don't draft a playmaking LB who was a fan favorite playing at UT and instead draft a DT with a questionable motor, cut our leading tackler and overpay for an average LB in Greenwood, and cut a serviceable CB in Aaron Glenn. I didn't expect us to win and unfortunately I was right.

So much for preseason meaning nothing. David Carr was atrocious today as he was against Dallas and Tampa Bay preseason. I really like David Carr and wish he will succeed. However, I think he is damaged goods now that he has been sacked more than any other QB. Our offensive "playcalling" was atrocious as usual. No improvement has been made on the undisciplined nature of this team that has been evident since 2002. Dumb penalties at the wrong time still plague us.

Mr. McNair please clean house and get rid of Casserly and the entire coaching staff. I wish we could get rid of the players as well. The only two that I would keep are Dunta who is a badass and AJ. This team as it currently stands is NOT a playoff team. I think we will be lucky to reach 7-9 again. This team has the look of a 5-11 team. Clean house and draft a stud LT. If the old crumudgeon Mike Holovak is still alive I would tell him to come aboard and provide some advice. That man could draft and find gems in the lower rounds. He built the Oilers playoff teams by investing in the O-line. We need to have the same philosophy. Realistically, I would love to get Bill Polian, Tom Heckert of Philadelphia (a team that has built itself through the draft), or Scott Pioli of New England (similar to Philly a team built through the draft to overhaul and reshape this team. I would LOVE to see Jerry Gray as our head coach. The 5 year plan with this team will go nowhere. It needs to be scrapped.

Please, I'll pass on Mike Holovak. What's the point in sending one overrated talent guru packing and then bringing in another one. Mike Holovak found "gems" in the later rounds because other teams didn't want those screw ups to begin with. There was a reason they were sitting there in the 5th, 6th, and 7th rounds. Teams don't pass on guys with speed and ability like those so-called "gems" without a reason.

As for this (Losing) supposed to have happened to New Orleans instead of our Texans, the Saints are obviously a team that can overcome adversity. We are not, it's always just short of that(New England Game Loss in OT)(Loss To Vikings in OT)(Losing to the Packers at the last minute)(Browns in the last game)...the list goes on. No heart nor consistency. From Clutch City to Crud City. All of my seasons are doomed Comets Lost, Astros losing, Texans Losing, Cougars Losing, OOps they actually won this weekend. Don't let me down now Rockets.

The main problem I have seen for the texans is from the very 1st year and it has never gotten any better and the team never will until it fixes this problem and that is: O LINE

I agree, except for one thing:

In our second year the O-line DID show significant improvement. They weren't great or anything, but they were much better. So, what happens? Capers decided to change the blocking scheme. Now here we are...

It's getting real close to time to get really ticked about that change. I was expecting an improved O-line this year and I'm seeing garbage.

I agree 100% with TexansFight.

Yesterday game was horrible... it was a bad joke, I was lookint at the screen and I was thinking that was in a nightmare... No passing game, no running game no defense... no nothing...!!!!

Im starting to think too that the main problem is the coaching staff. I think that Dom Capers is to much conservative.

charlie casserly has never won anything. otherr than that, ...

I agree that our O-Line needs a major overhaul and that our offensive play calling to way too timid. However, and call me a homer if you want to, I think our defense didn't do to bad yesterday. They gave us every opportunity to stay in and possibly even win the game if the offense hadn't failed us. Four shots in or close to the redzone and they held Buffalo to field goals. That's what a defense is supposed to do. The held them to 12 - 0 when it could have easily been 28-0 had the defense not stepped up. A few blow pics attempts, but that's going to happen.

People have been ragging on P-Buc, but i think he showed dicipline in not trying too hard to make something happen and give up a bunch of huge plays. Sure he got beat a few times, but that is going to happen to. The point is he played with dicipline and didn't give up the TD trying to get an INT.

PBuc looked no better than Glenn did last year. The Texans could have used the Extra 2nd and 3rd round picks for OL and TE help. Just a thought. That is hindsight. We have to move forward and let the year play out.

I just hope they haven't ruined Wand now. He has put in a great deal of effort for this team. It would be a shame if he were to all of a sudden be dropped from the Texans and then become a stud LT somewhere else.

Tampa Bay rookie TE Alex Smith caught two TD passes yesterday in his NFL debut. The Bucs selected him in the 3rd round of this years college Draft.
This is a guy we could have used our 3rd round pick on had we not used
it along with our 2 to pick up PB. How bad do we need a pass catching TE to give us a threat over the middle and in the Redzone ? I mean we thought Joppru finally might play this year, but I hardly think that's the sort of thing we wanted to rely on given his history. Then we could have used the 2nd round pick on a first rate interior OL and not assigned it such a low priority by using only a 5th round pick
in that area.

Buchannon just really needs to play tighter coverage and not back off so much. They need to MAKE him do that. He has the skills.

I agree that the defense did OK overall. They were exhausted from being on the field too much. It was the offense that bit the big one.
