Billy Miller Cut

Vinny and Infantrycak are reporting that Billy Miller has been cut according to 610.
 
It won't hurt my feeling not to hear another interview with him. He was always a camera hog even when he did not play. We need a TE who can equally block and catch.
 
If true, I can't say I am surprised. Seemed like he was more effective the first couple of years and then he didn't contribute as much last year as the skill positions matured without him.
 
Well, now I have to get a new jersey. I've been wearing the Billy Miller jersey I had made up, and I told myself I would not wear a jersey of a player who was not with the team. At least I'll still have that memory (and 8x10) of him stretching across the end zone line in the Cowboy game.

Just because he's not going to be playing for us anymore doesn't mean he doesn't deserve our respect. He was great for our team for a couple years, and saved DC's behind many times during the first season.

I will forever remember him reaching over the goal line for the Texans first touchdown.

I agree with Ash!! Good luck to Billy and his family and thank you for that 1st touchdown and everything else!!!!!!!!!!!

What worries me now are the group of Texans TE's: Bruener, Murphy, Rivers, Joppru(Injured). We should think about targeting a TE in the first round of next years draft, lets say a Mercedes Lewis or so.
 
I'm sorry to see Billy go! He was a class act, great teammate, and a guy that lead Houston to its first victory! I wish we could bring the guy back eventually. :texflag:

I wish him luck. He almost single-handedly carried this team through the first two seasons. I think it sucks that we don't throw to tight ends anymore around here. I really think it would help open up the field if we did.

Rivers and Bruener have a couple of years left, However Murphy is only in 3rd year and if Bennie can stay healthy think he could really show us something. I think we need to look for OL, DL or a 2nd WR if none of them step up this season :texflag:
 
Miller and Moses the Texans are cutting Fan favorites. Not to mention Glenn and Sharper. They better start winning because if not the stands will start looking awful empty. However if they start winning it will be who got cut? we can't rember.

Even though I said about a week ago he should go for just those reasons, I'm with the other people in wishing him good luck and I also have respect for the guy.
 
Good Luck Billy, Im sure he will get picked up,.. I would like to see him in black and gold since Boo Williams is gone for the year...who dat!!
 
I'll have fond memories of Billy Miller. Having said that, this is great news.

Two years ago, he was a starter for us and very involved in the offense. Two years later, he can't even make the team at the position many of you are so concerned about. That indicates we've significantly upgraded at TE the past 2 years. It certainly wasn't a financial issue. Nor was it due to personal vandettas or conflicts with the organization. Simply put, he was our 4th best TE.

Other encouraging cuts:
Corey Sears- our DLine is vastly improved and deeper.

next week- Tony Hollings- think about our RB situation at the start of 2003.
Corey Bradford- this will happen to... we are very talented and deep at WR.

I certianly hope this is true , neither of them deserve to make the final roster . The front office needs to bite the bullet and admit their mistake with Hollings . Bradford just hasnt been effective enough to warrant a spot .
