This reminds me of the old "Mad TV" skits called "Lowered Expectations".
Where do I start:
First of all again, it was not a tremedous achievement, it wan't even close to it. Capers didn't necessarily take a team from scratch, he was give a veteran defense and his same veteran defense cost us more games late then they won, partially due to his conservative sit on a lead gameplan. Four of his wins came against the cap ridden Titans and the Jags who are the only team it seems we can beat with anything close to a regular basis. All the other wins came against crappy teams. We beat the Radiers at home and a crappy Bear team. I really don't remember who was the other team we beat, but I'm sure they didn't have a winning record. In fact other then beating the Jags we have practically been blanked by teams with winning records. Calling that a tremedous achievement is a joke and can't be taken seriously. A tremedous achievement would be actually having a winning record, beating good teams and maybe the colts atleast once.
First of all let me start with the with the Buffalo interview. The fact that Bufallo hired a even worse coach in Juran shows you what they felt about Capers
Second, don't even try to compare Cowher and Holmgren to Capers, thats laughable.
Cowher coached his team to the playoffs and atleast 4 AFC Championships and is now back to the Superbowl, he constantly puts a playoff team on the field in the AFC.
Holmgren, Won a Superbowl, coached his team back TO the superbowl, then moved to Seattle and has coached them to several playoff seasons and now to their first Superbowl and also consistantly puts a winning product on the field.
Neither of these coaches had a 2-14 season.
Yes when they had Bledsoe who they let go and a strong defense. Now this year they played a very weak schedule and fell on their face. Now stories have come out about the drama in the front office between the front office, owners, and the old coaching staff.
Buffalo didn't FIRE their coaches, THEY QUIT, that alone tells me that they have some serious administrational issues.
Now throw on top of that, they tried to reach back into their glory days and hired Marv Levy, their OLD (in more ways then one) coach (in what seems a very desperate move) for direction, he turns around and hires, Juran, who is even worse the Capers. Yes they have some serious problems up there.
Ah no...Four years is PLENTY of enough time to show which direction your headed and after a 2-14 season, there was no doubt where this team was headed.....wake up.

and the powers at be didn't forget what he had done in his first three seasons, they remembered, that was one of the reasons why he was fired.
I'm sure they're glad too, they have good proven head coaches.
What success did he have in carolina, when he took on a bunch of veterans whose contracts crippled the panthers and coached them to the NFC Championship, then when he didn't have his vets and had to take on the task of developing players, he failed misserably and fell off the map.
Again, what success did he have with the Texans. Our defense is worse then when he started and our offense is even worse than it ever was, we still have the same problems that we did from day 1. Again LOWERED EXPECTATIONS.
All the great coaches we have today at one time HAD ZERO CHOACHING EXPERIENCE, including your Vince L. incarnated Dom Capers.
Also I can spin that my way too. Elway never won until Kubiak showed up, You said yourself that Kubiak had loaded offenses, which was his job, he is the offensive coordinator, he took care of his side of the ball and he did it with second rate QBs who he developed and turned around their careers.
