Begging For Myron Rolle

Please. Just don't want another year of completely ignoring the safeties. Give me Rolle in the 4th, and I won't even care about the rest of the picks in the draft that I hate at this particular moment.
 
Well, I agree with you about hating the picks, but Rolle is not the answer. He is an in the box safety. You would like a center-field, ball hawking safety, if I remember correctly. Rolle is not that guy. Very tight in coverage, and does not play the ball especially well.

oh my god. Poor Myron. We need a safety, and pass on him in the 6th for a kick returner.

Instead, he goes to the Titans and raises the IQ of the entire state by about 20 points. A guy like him should not be on a team like the Titans

I'm as disappointed as everyone else that we didn't get a FS in this draft, but I'm not upset that we passed on Myron Rolle for Trindon Holliday. The odds that Holliday makes an immediate, game-changing impact on this team are better than the odds of Rolle doing likewise.

Rolle is a SS, not a FS. He's not the ballhawk this team desperately needs, so I'm not losing too much sleep over passing him up.

Isn't it amazing how many "fans" cannot make the distinction between a FS and a SS. I'll take Holliday before Rolle as well although I'm not a big proponent of drafting return specialists.

Well, for a long time here in Htown there was little distinction between FS and SS. In some ways the positions were interchangeable. Now we are actually playing a FS and SS, so it will take the fans a little time to learn the differences.

Or early last season, when we were starting Busing and Barber, there was little difference:

both couldn't cover
both took horrible angles
and neither could tackle

I guess what that means is when you draft high end linebackers, like Cushing, his speed and physicality allows you to do crazy things like getting faster and quicker at the FS spot .
