Texas really should be around 11. A 2 loss Texas should not be behind a 3 loss Florida.

I was suprised when USC & Florida came out in front of Texas but that debacle with Kansas State is killing their strength of schedule. What a terrible loss.

At least they didnt lose to Stanford tho.

I also think that Tim Tebow should win the Heisman. Everybody knows he is the guy but nobody can stop him.

how is Michigan still ahead of Wisconsin

They are ranked a spot ahead of them in both human polls & are higher in the computer polls because Wisconsin is unranked in two computers (probably because Michigan beat two of the teams that Wisconsin lost to).

these polls (Tools) can be a joke as in this case & don't always reflect just how impressive a team is performing "right now". Wisconsin is clearly a healthy, better team now than Michigan which is struggling because of injurys in total dischord yet polls are unable to reflect reality or the fact they just got hammer'ed 16 :dangit:

I agree.

I was sorta hoping that KU would make up enough points to hope Oregon. I still don't think either 1-loss team should be ahead of KU. And Mizzu should not be ranked so high either.

Interesting, how "if Oregon stumbles (including a bad win), then Kansas has a shot if they win out." Didn't LSU stumble at least twice?

What impressive wins does Kansas have??. OSU (not that one Yankee) maybe... Other than that, they can help their cause if they beat Mizzou and win the Big 12..

On the other hand, LSU has beaten VaTech, Florida, Auburn, Alabama - but lost a close game at Kentucky.

LSU gets my vote.

LSU- Victories over...Mississippi St. (45-0), #9 Virginia Tech (48-7), Mid Tenn St. (44-0), #12 South Carolina (28-16), Tulane (34-9), #9 Florida (28-24), #17 Auburn (30-24), #17 Alabama (41-34), Lousiana Tech (58-10)
Only loss came at #17 Kentucky (43-37 in Triple Overtime).

Kansas- Victories over...Cen. Mich. (52-7), SE Louisiana (62-0), Toledo (45-13), FL Int (55-3), #24 Kansas St. (30-24), Baylor (58-10), Colorado (19-14), Texas ATM (19-11), Nebraska (76-39), Oklahoma St. (43-28).

The only teams Kansas has played that have a winning record are Central Michigan and Texas ATM. You can clearly see why LSU is ranked higher than Kansas at this point in time. However, if Kansas wins out by beating Iowa St. and #5 Missouri...then play #4 Oklahoma in the Big XII championship..Kansas will be ranked #1, justifiably too.

Untill then I'm more impressed with LSU's record than Kansas'...and this is coming from an LSU Rival and someone who wants to see Kansas vs. Oregon for the nat'l title.

I was replying to that fact that Herbie said IF Oregon has a bad lwin, then an undefeated Kansas will leap them - implying LSU is untouchable.

By that logic, hasn't LSU stumbled 2-3 times? Or does strength of schedule overcome that for LSU and not for Oregon?

Oregon- Victories over....Houston (48-27), Michigan (39-7), Fresno St. (52-21), Stanford (55-31), Wash St. (53-7), Washington (55-34), #12 Southern Cal (24-17), #4 Arizona St. (35-23)
Only loss to #6 California (31-24.
..which I believe Oregon almost scored at the end but fumbled out of the back of the endzone? didn't see the game).

The thing going for Kansas and LSU is the fact they place a conference. Kansas will most likely face #4 Oklahoma and LSU will most likely face #9 Georgia or #12 Florida. This would be a huge quality win for each team.

In my opinion that's why if LSU, Oregon, Kansas all win out then it will be LSU vs. Kansas. This would be the ideal position for proponents of having a playoff system- unfotunately a playoff bracket probably won't happen for a VERY long time, if ever.

IF KU wins out, they will beat two top 10 teams in the last 3 weeks. On the other hand, Oregon doesn't have a big name opponent left, and their BCS margin lead is not that large. I'm really hoping Florida wins the SEC, but I don't want Oregon to play in the NT game because their lack of conference tournament. I don't think they would beat a fully healthy USC.

Texas really should be around 11. A 2 loss Texas should not be behind a 3 loss Florida.

Mack Brown is having night mares bout Little Timmy. Texas matches up against Fla, The gators will hang fifty on them. It'll be Saint Vincent in reverse. Texas needs a pasty in the bowl game.

As you should be. Chase Daniel and his flying tigers can put on a show. You know if by some miricale, LSU and Missouri match up that would be two South Lake Carrol dragon boys QBing in the game. If Missouri wins out...

Basicly, whatever Big 12 team wins out from Ok, KU, and Mizzu...is going to play in the NT game. Simple as that.

TOTALLY forgot that was on last night!!

Well, now the incessant whining (from me) has stopped. I think, IMHO, the BCS is correct for the time being. But that's because I don't worry about OU, MIZZ, and KS's positions b/c they all play each other (this avoids a HUGE who is #2 argument - the BCS is lucking out with that one). With Oregon gone, LSU is the clear #1.

(of course I am hoping for all 3 Big 12 teams to lose and for OSU to leap WV with a huge win over Michigan, the computers have us 6, we need to slell the pollsters!)

Unless LSU loses again and Kansas loses barely in the Big 12 Championchip game.

If LSU loses again I think they drop a lot. I think the polls will hammer them for all their barely wins (of course, I could be completely wrong). If KS loses this late, they're done. The media seems to hate them, they cannot lose.

What I mean is that you said the BCS is lucking out with how things are playing out. If those two things happen and then it because a total fubar situation yet again. Which I sorta would like because not haveing a playoff is not very smart.

I just dont get it. Why do you want the worst thing to happen?

A playoff is not going to happen, so why not just hope the best matchup occurs?

That's my perspective at least.

I may be Biased but I think it is rediculous where Florida is ranked. I understand they won it last year but they do not deserve to be at #12, basically one win out from the top 10 at 7-3.

Well look at the positive side, You get a Texas match up and get steak for New Years day brunch. Well on the one hand you could say the SEC is a beast and the gators should get extra credit for playing a beastly schedule. I think what the polsters are saying is the Big twelve north is no longer loaded with patsies top to the bottom as in recent years. It'll shake out the next three weeks. We'll see.
Bottom line is a team better take care of it's own bussiness when they have the oportunity.

What I mean is that you said the BCS is lucking out with how things are playing out.

and therefore I have less to whine about :)

I'm with you, I always want the worst. WHY? Build pressure for a playoff system. And forget the whiney Pac-10. I call their bluff on that anyway.

Personally I think Florida IS better than Texas, Virginia, Clemson, Hawaii, Boston College, Boise State, Illinois, Tennessee, Michigan, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Connecticut, Wisconsin.

I understand your point though and somewhat agree...I just don't think they would be too far down judging on who's behind them.

So, with both Oregon and Oklahoma going down, anyone wanting to predict the new BCS?

Ok here is my top 5:

1. LSU
2. Kansas
3. Missouri
4. West Virginia
5. Ohio State

Anyone bold enough to do the whole 25 or top 10?

Next week's Kansas-Missouri game will put one of the teams into the Big XII Championship game and a potential Natl championship. The loser looks like a possible Cotton, Gator, or even Holliday bowl bid in a worst case scenario or in a best case scenario, a BCS at large bid.

I can't say I have paid much attention to college ball over the years, but I don't remember ever seeing a season like this one where the top ten seems to be in a blender and just keeps getting mixed up.

Because I have been whining all week, no one will believe me, but I honestly think OSU is a better team than WV. I'll do a top 10 after the game today,

Normally I would throw an insulting smartass joke here and the whinny stuff, but can't bring myself to do it to Yankee (only ohio state fan I know I like). Seriously, though I understand your frustration.

Honestly I am not sure where I would put OSU, I understand a case could be made for having them higher than WV, but one could also make a case for them being a lower than where they really are. OSU has only one decent win, and that is over Wisconsin at home.

two more wins and Hawaii is in a BCS game. WVU desperately wants Missouri to beat Kansas and OU to beat Missouri.

I missed on my Oregon vs. LSU prediction.

I missed on my Michigan over Ohio State prediction (what was I drinkin?).

But I'm predicting a Boise State win over Hawaii.

KU - Mizzu is going to be a shootout.

OU depends completely on Bradford. Without him they are out of the BCS games. Without him, they don't beat either Mizzu or KU.

If DeMarco Murray's injury isnt serious then they still have a chance.

That kid is special.
