yessir, if the season ended today, USF would be playing for a national title.

Congrats.

My Texas squad is slowly movin back up. We're ranked just about where we should be right now, but I think we will move up. Our only scary game left looks like Texas Tech.

Looking at the remaining schedules I think South Florida actually has the best chance of all the top 5 of going to the National Championship.

Ohio State has played a joke of a schedule thus far. They've got some tough game remaining in Mich. St, at Penn St, Wisconsin, Illinois, at Michigan.

South Florida has beat some decent teams already, at Auburn and West Virginia. Their remaining schedule is at Rutgers, at Conn, Cincinnati, at Syracuse, Louisville, at Pittsburgh.

Boston College has won some good games but has the toughest schedule left imo. The beat Wake Forest, at GA Tech. but they have at VA tech, Florida St, at Maryland, at Clemson, Miami.

LSU is still the best team in the country imo. They beat Virginia Tech, South Carolina, and Florida. They lost to Kentucky in triple overtime. Of course being in the SEC they have a tough schedule remaining with Auburn, at Alabama, LA TEch, at Ole Miss, Arkansas

Oklahoma is probably the 2nd best team in the country. They beat Miami, won at Texas, and beat Missouri. Only loss was at Colorado. They have Iowa St, Baylor, ATM, TX TEch, and OK St. left to play.

With BC's remaining schedule I don't see them playing in the NC, they might be able to lose 1 game and still have a shot but the 4 other schools have to lose another.. LSU and OKlahoma are going to have to win out to have a shot at playing for the title. Ohio St. strength of schedule was WEAK this year, however if they lose 1 game they may fall past LSU or OK. This will be really interesting to watch how this plays out the rest of the season.

Do you think the weak slate of games they have left will hurt their chances though?

No. 3 of their 6 games left are against respectable opponents (at Rutgers, Cincinnati, Louisville).

I would also watch out for Oregon. I think they will beat USC & really jump into the picture.

USF will probably have to win big in some of those big games.

Having watched a couple of USF games, I can say that I have been impressed. I think they are legit (and I'm one that is usually critical of 'Cindarella' stories - i.e. Rutgers last year).

hmm, strong stances. LSU's defense looked like a division 1 team agianst auburn. So much for the SEC being so freakin tough...

Auburn beat Florida, almost beat LSU...kinda like an uncle grandpa situation to me:gun:

Kansas is still moving on up. Undefeated still and now a top 10 team. I actually see BC losing to VTech this weekend. I was hoping Mich St. would come up big saturday, but they didn't.

Interesting Notes:
Boston College ranked #6 in both human polls despite being tied #2 in the computers.
Texas ranked #11 & #12 in the human polls but unranked in every single computer.
USF ranked #20 & #21 in the human polls but ranked #12 by the computers.
USC ranked #13 & #15 in the human polls but ranked #25 by the computers (including the random #10 ranking by Richard Billingsley's computer).

I don't think Kansas is NC material by any means. I am just rooting for them. Actually, I am rooting for anything that fudges up the system. If any season has the potential to fudge up the system it is this one due to all the parody and upsets. I will never be as much of a fan of college football as I am the NFL as long as there is no playoff system.

Ohio State doesn't seem legit to me either, but they didn't really seem legit to many in 02 either.

However, they could very easily win out. I don't think Arizona St. will win out with Oregon and USC up for the next two weeks. Kansas really only has Mizzouri left.

The OSU have two senior Elite tackles a center and a power running back. And they play defense. They might not need more than that if they get past Michigan. BC is the new media Darlins.

Dorsey has a knee and the can't make up their minds on a QB.
Big twelve is a train wreck.

Personally I'd like to see an Oregon -W.Va. match up in one of the bowl games. The sparks should fly. I think whoever wins the gaunlet for the NC will be like twenty dollar bill in the middle of the road. Everyone is going to lay claim to it.

OSU is clearly the #1 team right now. best defense in the country. and the offense gets better every game. could win the title this year, then will be one of the huge favorites next year. well, actually, UF is going to be sickening next year.

also looking foward to next year's USC/Ohio State matchup.

If UF doesn't quit tryna run their little receivers and quarterback up the middle...they will keep injuring their players.

Ohio State schedule isn't that tough...they are getting into the hardest part now though..If they go undefeated they should go, however if they lose 1, they are going to drop past lsu, kansas, oregon, and oklahoma.

LSU-has by far the most intimidating schedule. They have beat the toughest teams and although they lost to kentucky (which was then ranked what 7th?) it was in triple overtime. They man handled VA tech when they were 7th? They've squeeked a couple games out but that's what good teams do...see New England Patriots yesterday.

Oregon- beat Michigan (who started slow), beat Souther Cal, beat Arizona St. (4th). Oregon is an incredible offense right now and they are hard to stop. Their one loss to Cal was in that last few minutes and Oregon almost won that game...oh so close to being undefeated

Kansas- such a good team and great story. The Bix XII is full of tough competition week in and week out but they don't play Texas, the don't play Oklahoma. You can't really control your schedule though, although its much tougher than Ohio St.'s If Kansas wins out, I think the play Missouri?..should def. move up though.

When I look LSU's schedule I just can't see how a team could go undefeated through that...it's almost unfair. Add to that they have to win the SEC championship which means they'd have to beat Auburn..AGAIN! If LSU's only loss is to Kentucky in 3-OT it would be an injustice for them not to go to the N.C. even if there are 2 undefeated teams imo.

I'd personally like to see Oregon and LSU.

OSU vs. LSU - thats a match-up of the best defense vs the best offense.

Oklahoma (wins the big 12) vs. Oregon in whats becoming a great rivalry.

the winners of those games then play for a real BCS game (week before SuperBowl) :devilpig:

If KU wins out, that means they beat #6 Mizzu in the final game of the season, and would have to beat #5 Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship. If by some miricle Kansas wins out, they should play in the national title game.

OSU, win out, win in NO. Players all come back, we repeat :)

Darn it, I want to be in the Dynasty talks, that would be 4 trips 3 wins in 7 years :)

Still trying to find a hotel in NO :(

If they play LSU in New Orleans, there is no way in hell they are going to win that game.

If I'm a Kansas fan, Chase Daniels scares the hell out of me.

I'm gonna watch that game. It should be a great one.
