Thank God for people, cause computer rankings suck. We're No. 1 in both polls, but THIRD in the computer rankings (USC 1.000, then MI at .960, then OSU at .920).

Team Harris Coach AH RB CM KM JS PW Avg. Total
1 OSU .999 1.000 23 25 23 23 23 23 .920 .9731
2 USC .931 .937 25 24 25 25 25 25 1.000 .9559
3 Mich .934 .908 24 23 24 24 24 24 .960 .9341

Texas has only played Ohio State(loss) and Okihoma(win). If we can beat Nebraska, Tech, and A&M that will do wonders for us. UT might be 9 right now but: Ohio state must play Michigan, Louisville must play West Virginia. \
USC is also looking quite overrated right now and will likly lose.
If we win out, we should be able to jump at least these three and hopefully end somewhere in the top 5. It is possible we go to the Natl Championship, but we would need everyone ahead of us to lose except Ohio state.

Remember though, if we win out we get a BCS bowl, and thats a fantastic result.

Notre Dame had 1 loss, and it was the #3 overall team...

And Texas' loss was to the overall #1. So the point is?

Doesn't matter as long as OSU and USC take care of business; they will clearly belong in the title game. My bet though is that one of them will go down and we'll have a hell of a mess.

USC is overrated. Almost makes you wish margin of victory was a factor again.

MI should be #2, the true national championship will be November 18th.

We all know WV is NOTHING.

Out of all the top 10 teams, I'd like to play Texas. I think Michigan and Texas are the only teams who have a shot at beating us. Texas, assuming McCoy continues to mature as he has this season.

How do we know West Virginia is nothing? It's not their fault they play in a weak league. With all the BCS crud though, there should be a playoff. The SEC is BY FAR the best conference in the country this season and because of all the beating up they do on each other no team is unscathed. Florida, Auburn, and LSU are all better than USC but if USC goes undefeated in a weaker Pac 10 Conference they'll play in the National Championship in all likelihood. It's such a ridiculous system.

NCAA is cheating the consumer (fans), every other sport has a playoff system. There is no reason not to have one for D1A football. D1AA and D2 schools have playoffs and it works great. Bowl games are pointless and stupid.

You know why the NCAA tournament is so huge? Because a school like George Mason has a chance to win a national championship. It's a playoff where every game means something. Winner moves on loser goes home and any team in any conference who has a great season has a chance to win a championship. In D-1A football, a team like Louisville has ZERO chance of winning a national title. Hell, any team in CUSA has no chance of a title ever. What a stupid, stupid way to decide your champion. There's what, only 8-15 teams in all of D-1A football that legitimately have an opportunity at a national title and that's it. Oh and by all means don't dare lose ONE regular season game or your title hopes are dashed. That's retarded. Bowl games are meaningless and useless. They mean nothing. So and so are the Liberty Bowl champions. Who cares? Doesn't mean anything.

The BCS was a bad joke from the get go and it always will be because no matter how they tweak it, a true national champion will never be determined because only certain teams in certain conferences are allowed in.

When you've got computers and polls deciding your champion instead of teams battling it out on the field, well, there's your problem. Every sport on the planet decides their champion with a playoff including ALL of COLLEGE FOOTBALL not in Division 1-A!! I don't know why we keep buying this garbage.

the only way i would buy into a playoff system is if it were a TRUE playoff. i.e. 20+ teams. but obviously that would never happen.

the great thing about college football: every game matters. florida lost, so their chances to win a national championship are eliminated. don't like? don't throw a INT with 2 minutes to go, mr. leak.

But thank you for cementing Troy's trophy!

For Texas to have any shot of making it to the BCS Championship Game, at least two of the following would have to happen:

1. USC loses a game
2. The winner of Ohio State/Michigan loses a game
3. The winner of Louisville/West Virginia loses a game

That is to have ANY shot. We would then have to compete with a ton of 1-loss teams and might lose out in that scenario if Tennessee or Florida doesn't lose again.

Remember that this is COLLEGE football. These guys have to worry about semester exams around the end of the season.
So do the guys that play in every division in COLLEGE football not in Division 1-A. They don't seem to have a problem with playoffs and finals.

You could have 2 brackets of 16 teams. Top team from each conference plus whoever gets most votes from sports writers or whatever. It would take 5 weeks, december through early january. After seeing 3 playoff games last year with TxState I am convinced it's the way to go. We (no D1AA championships) went up against a school that is a powerhouse (Georgia Southern) and showed em whats up. I hate how the BCS is so limited, Once you loose one game or are in a conference that doesnt matter you might as well not play the season, cause your not playing for the championship. It would be more popular than the NCAA Basketball tournament by far. This year check out the D1AA Playoffs on ESPN2 or whatever station its on, you'll see.

I would agree, but limit it to 8 teams. Extending the season 5 weeks would cause issues (fan travel, injuries, etc.).

But IMO, you could argue 4, 8, 16 unteil we turn blue
