BADBOY'S final pre-draft mock

Due to grief over a buddy of mine being near death in local hospital, I've not had desire to post much lately. I'm going to get the names for the picks here then add info & my reasoning behind each selection as I can. *Note the first three picks even at this late date (April 20th) are all over rankings depending on source. My picks IMO should be available at our 68th, 80th and 98th. Hopefully, I can get back into the draft. I think most common posted OTs will be gone by our pick and I'm not trading up. As I've posted before, no TE s for me in draft.

3.68 WR Anthony Miller 3.80 RB Rashaad Penny 3.98 CB Parry Nickerson 4.103 Safety Godwin Igwebuike 6a RG Colby Gossett 6b OT Jamil Demby 6c OLB Justin Lawler 7th OT Beau Nunn

3.68 WR Anthony Miller 5'11" 190 Senior from Memphis Combine rank was 5.79 maybe a starter. I watched this guy make high light catch after catch; definitely reminds me of Hopkins. He can play inside or outside. Jones fracture during Liberty Bowl and that caused him to miss Senior Bowl. Did not run at combine but Pro Day was great: unofficial 40 @ 4.46 and he had 39 inch vertical. Combine 225 x 22. In HS he was champion at 110 meter hurdles and second in long jump.
2017 13 games (bowl game partial as above) 96 1462 @15.23 per catch with 18 TDs

He has strong hands and deep speed and often made his Memphis QB (Riley Ferguson) look better by coming back to get ball if QB hurried; Cannot wait to see how well he does with Watson. Miller is tremendous competitor and man does he climb a ladder to high point catch. Like Nuk if ball is within a hula hoop he considers it his regardless of whom is covering him or where on field play goes. Runs great routes and unafraid of physical activity...seems to get stronger as game progresses; not a prima donna. He says doctor has released him as fracture healed.

3.80 RB Rashaad Penny 5'11" 220 4.46 San Diego State Senior Combine rank 5.83 maybe starter. Penny improved his PFF grade each college year. 2017 13 games: KR 17/521 @ 30.65 yds; rushes 289/2248 @7.78 23 TDs and receiving 19/132 @ 6.95 2TD s. 80 tackles broken in run game and #7 all FBS RBs in breakaways (55.8%). Only two punt returns but one was a 70 yard TD. Hands 9 1/4 arms 31 1/4 225x 13 321/2 vertical. Considered a heavy load back with compact body, every down back with patience and sets up blockers to increase his success. Strong lower body that rejects tackles along with hip swivel, gets past second level through middle with few solid hits impacting him. High motor that keeps him running hard in fourth quarter.

D'Onta Foreman supposedly ready for game one but Penny great insurance and IMO will allow team to release Lamar Miller if they want to. Tyler Ervin better bring it or could be gone before game one. Penny is perfect weapon for Watson.

I love your first 3 picks and I like the safety from NW but I think he's projected to be drafted later than the 4th. Would like a OT in the 4th.

Other than that, very solid mock.

Thanks and agree that most have Godwin later in draft but when I know what I want I go get him. This kid is natural born backfield QB. I have DeShon Elliott ahead of him but decided as much as I love Iggy I'd take him in 4th allowing me the three above in third round. Nickerson was just sitting there for me. I wanted Arrion Springs in 6th and mocked him for long time but Nickerson is more ceiling and less floor than Springs and if a ball hawk is there you just have to get him. Miller and Penny are two of my three dream picks along with ILB Josie Jewell. It seems that Jewell gone before we get him and we have good set of ILBs now.

I thought same as you about OT in fourth until recently when I evaluated Demby again and he is just good. Iggy will not get to 6th but Demby probably will. Also with O'Neill & Rankins gone and no tackle better than Demby in 4th or 5th....

Like miller but he fumbles a lot and drops easy passes. Furguson is a player I would like to see us take a flyer on late or as an UDFA.

yeah Miller had rep as you said but either I just didn't see that many or the ones he caught were so awesome it over shadowed. 2017: 96 for 1462 @ 15 +, 2016 95 for 1434 @ 15+ that's very consistent and he should be very good with Watson, so yes I take him. I like Ferguson also but hate to give up anything higher than our 7th and don't see him dropping. If he is undrafted, he'd be a quick signing and we have funds to get his attention.
