Mark Berman local Fox TV just states Briles would not only agree to an interview but would accept an offer to coach U.T.

"Briles agreed to a 10-year contract extension in November and signed the deal after the Bears clinched the conference title. The deal is said to be worth over $4 million a season. The Statesman report cites a Texas source pegging Briles' buyout at $4 million, but the article acknowledges multiple media reports citing the figure at a much higher sum.

Did Kevin Kolb get drafted at the very beginning of the 2nd round? I hate bashing my fellow Cougar alumni, but yeah... Art Briles gets QBs drafted, doesn't matter if they are RG3 talent or not.
 
Jeez, it's lame that A&M and UT don't play each other anymore. Watching Sumlin and Briles' offenses would be like watching a 4th of July firework show.
 
Baylor fans heads may explode. The only reason they're pulling those athletes is because of Briles. Briles at Texas could do some serious damage.
 
Yes! Do it. DO IT NOW! Briles possibly only agreed to the new deal with Baylor to get more money and also get Baylor a nice little parting gift from UT's donors.
 
Briles contract is for 6 years and is guaranteed for $20M plus a $4M buyout.
I don't know if texas is willing pay to match that guarantee for Briles.
That's more guarantees money than Saban was going to get
 
I thought Briles' new deal was a 4m buyout per remaining year on his contract. Up to 40m in that case. I'll go dig for the details and see if I can find it. I have a hard time believing its simply a 4m buyout for a 10 year contract. I also thought there was a buyout escalator for taking any job in the state of Texas.
