Practice Squad
Steeler fan here. Just coming in to see if you are excited about Sunday. It still sticks in our throat a little that the Texans beat us as an expansion team. While I respect Capers and think he is a pretty fair coach, I am glad we got Lebeau back and hope he takes Capers behind the woodshed. Lebeau helped invent the zone blitz and I hope he tosses a few things out that Capers has not saw.

I am a little concerned about the Texans defense. They held the Jills out of the endzone 4 times in 5 shots....inside the 10. That is pretty impressive. But, we like our new back...Willie Parker. He tossed up 100 yards on the Bills starters last season, playing with our backups. He threw 161 yards rushing on the Titans. Ben added a perfect QB rating last week, so our offense is showing some life. Our line looks a touch better than last season.

I hope the coaching staff tosses up the newspaper from our last meeting. I mean, we held you to 3 first downs and 47 yards total offense while getting 24 first downs and 422 yards total offense....and you hung a loss on us. The more I think about it, the more I look forward to this one.

And, be more than HAPPY to trade you one of our corners (or two if you like) for Dunta Robinson. Went to college with him. He is a keeper.

Are you ready for some football?

Welcome to the boards, man. That first season win is still a highlight in our book...of course, it's not a very thick book at the moment, so please excuse us if we're living in the past. ;)

yeah, we are a little scare of both big Ben and Willie P. Both of those dudes are studs, and I can see your teaming going deep into the playoffs (again).

Matter-of-fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Steelers were at the big dance (hopefully instead of Indy!!).

Man...hate to hear that you're still stinging from that loss 3 year ago. :( Yikes, like we need you to be motivated anymore against us!

While that is an NFL record game - lowest offensive production in a winning effort - we think you should just forget about that one and look past this next game towards the Patriots. yeah, that's the ticket, plan for the Patriots. :ok:

and we're ready for some football!! :texflag:

It's not really your running backs, its your offensive line, no matter who is back there, they seem to be gain good yardarge. Once the Steelers get the run game going, they are hard to stop. They are following the formula of opening up the run by playing the pass. The Texans lack confidence its up to Capers and Capers alone to rally this team. It's going to be very interesting this week as we sometimes get geared up for the really good teams.

Excited and nervous. I doubt there will be much trash-talking from our side. Not too many optimists left after Sunday.

Welcome aboard and thanks for not coming in like the herd of buffalos that have been here for weeks.

You are absolutely right about our line. The Steelers have a better line this year than they had last year. While we lack depth at OT, our #3 is Barrett Brooks, we do have 3 young linemen waiting in the wings. The front office drafted Trai Essex in the 3rd and every expert soundly thrashed them. We even had fans jumping out of windows. The kid has been a bright spot in the preseason...really looks impressive. To add to that, Chris Kemeaotu fell to us in the 6th...and this MAN is a beast. He could start for us today. Man, is he nasty. Then, we have 4 year vet Chukky Okobi waiting to take over for Hartings.

So, while I hope our starters stay healthy, we have some promising depth. Kendall Simmons is back from an ACL injury last season and is playing well. We feel that he and Faneca are the best OG tandem in the league. Marvel Smith and Hartings made the Pro Bowl. The only real new guy is Max Starks, a 6'8"-350 pound RT from Florida (2004 draft). You need a small aircraft to get around this mammajamma. He is a head taller than the rest of the line. Big man.

As far as QBs and runningbacks. Hell, our lines got Kordell Stewart to the Pro Bowl. They make average runningbacks look good. I would have loved to see the Steelers move up last draft and take Steven Jackson. With Big Ben, Jackson, and Starks, we would have been set for 6 years. But, Fast Willie Parker looks to be the real deal. Not only does he have speed, he runs with some power inside. Maybe we can get Duce back because behind Parker, we are T-H-I-N.

And, if our line gives Ben time, not only is Ward there, but Randle El is playing lights out. Cedrick Wilson was a nice addition and we picked up the speedster Quincy Morgan to be our 4th. So, while we do not have a group of superstars like the Rams, we can run some quality players out on the field for Ben to throw to. And, Miller may be one of our better draft picks.

I have followed the Steelers since 74 (I was 6 and my Great Uncle was a big fan). This may be the best Steeler team (talent and depth) I can remember.

Lord, Bills fans suck. They invaded our boards last year because we closed our season with them. In a game that meant NOTHING to us...they flooded us. Then, we beat their *** with our 2nd and 3rd string. They came back and said we were overrated and would lose in the playoffs.

You would think that they would have been quite as well. Not the Bills fans.

I will say this though, Browns and Ravens fans are far worse. Not even close.

Congrats on the Win TMC yall really put a pounding on us oh my god david carr is terrible thanks for not killing him by the way.
i know we havent played but we will defenetly get our behinds whooped. :texflag:
