Until Bill O'Brien learns to not run his imaginary franchise RB up the middle to try and kill clock against teams our OL is completely overmatched against and incapable of opening lanes on I think I'll be back and forth between happy and miserably confused. Nice little ESPN article about 2017 NFL season mysteries and why Bill O'Brien doesn't seem to trust DW4 with the game on the line.

Coach Flintstone needs to go ahead and take the next step. What's the worst thing that could happen? We lose those games? That's already a given when you run Miller up the gut repeatedly while trying to kill clock and can't get a ******* first down.

This team has more important things to worry about like the National Anthem to put their all into winning a GAME.

In short we have a team full of SJW's.
Are you saying they didn't do their damnest to win that game??

The simple fact
is that the players did enough to win even getting a turnover with 3 minutes left. Then O'Brien went completely turtle and blew it....

As a 10 year vet, I don't care if they kneel. It's better than not coming out for it or sitting on the bench. It was a compromise that Kaepernick and a US combat veteran came too. You are giving it too much attention and power, and that is why they continue to do it.... I see a bunch of people selling off their Texans memorabilia and I'm thinking, Sweet! I'm about to make a large investment rather cheaply. Plus, if you think about it, kneeling is a sign of respect. We kneel to pray, people kneeled for kings. Thanks for kneeling for the Flag of the greatest land in the world, The USA!, and not doing something extremely distasteful. Quit getting mad just to be mad or because other people tell you you should be.

Love to like this 10x.

Bill O'Brien, for the second time this year, had a road victory against a top Super Bowl contender in his grasp, but instead had his sphincter tighten up. Fortune favors the bold, and O’Brien has been anything but in two key moments.

First, it was at New England, where Houston had a 4th and 1 at the New England 18 with 2:26 left, already up by 2. O’Brien opted for the safe call, the field goal, to go up by 5. But against Tom Brady, on the road, that’s not the safe call. You try to go win the game, by getting a first down, draining time down, and leaving little opportunity for Brady heroics. Rumor has it that O’Brien used to coach Brady, but apparently he was unaware of this.

Excellent post! This is why I don't get why folks get mad. As you said, historically speaking, kneeling is a much more humble and respectful posture than standing.
So I don't understand why it upsets folks either.

Because they are told to get mad. That's the funny part. And the most pissed off people I have seen over it haven't served a day in their life. It's like how the far left get so offended for things they have nothing to do with them, and when you ask the supposedly offended folks, they're usually like, "meh, it's not a big deal"

Edit: Fact of the matter if you ask most vets, they'll tell you we fight for their right to kneel. They could be flipping the bird, etc.

Its all subjective and I think people don't think things through sometimes . When you don't care if your guy is accused of a violent crime as long as he can play and respects the flag , you've sold your soul .

very happy with how team is developing with so many guys out. OBrien cost game forcing Miller thru middle late 4th Q. Not happy with that.

Obviously I've lost my soul in your opinion.

I thought the NFL was all about entertainment. I dont care what players do in their personal lives for the most part if they entertain me on Sunday's. I find the kneeling to not be entertaining.

I would have talked and listened to my team , nipped this a long time ago and did what Jerry did or something . I won't show up if they're bad but would should show up if some are protesting .

I respect your line of thinking.

I just don't operate that way

That's ok as long as we keep an open dialogue , we can all get better .

I do think the owners are starting to sweat it because the the pot continues to boil . They need their players because I think it's already a diluted product but the fans fill the bank .

Agreed about the diluted product.

The owners need to put their feet down, before the players kill the golden goose. This whole situation happened because of a lack of leadership from God'ell. I guess he's been too busy with the Deflate Gate and Elliott suspensions. Meanwhile Rome burns, probably because God'ell agrees with the players stance on this topic.

Lopez on 610 said it best
Now that OB has a qb we can truly judge him as a coach
No more excuses

maybe..I just texted a friend, Watson will save OBrien's job. Watson may be that player that makes coach look smart and how much will we actually see play book. There were some weird plays in which WRs, TEs and RBs all seemed to be moving all over behind LOS before snap. Then it got crazier.

I'm not mad, I just don't like politics mixed with football.

So, I just went to Colorado Springs for the weekend and had a great time. Watched the Astros with people from Colorado it was awesome. Didn't miss the NFL at all. I can't see myself supporting the NFL much longer.

Go Stros

While i am bummed about Watson, still optimistic about next year. We had such big hits with injuries on the defensive side we weren't contending for a Superbowl. If next year we have a healthy year - Superbowl. I have seen enough out of Watson to know that if he can stay healthy (real question now) we will be Superbowl bound.

I still maintain my feeling about next year.

Next year is the year we stop waiting for next year.

I feel like it's all my fault.

I was all, "I told you so." (I didn't actually say it, but I felt it) when Bridgewater had his injury... poor DeShaun (& you Texans fans) is paying the price for my hubris.

I think more than a few were concerned about 'what if DW goes down'

The hope was that he would survive the season... now it's another 'wait until next year'

After this news, I'm not sure I will be able to stomach watching Savage behind our piss poor offensive line. I want to know how many Houstonians prayed to the Sports Gods to let the Astros win the World Series, no matter the cost. I feel like I got robbed at gunpoint and my favorite new toy has been stolen. Booooooo!

A friend of mine on FB found a picture of a forum post where some Astros fans voted to the Gods of Sports for a World Series victory at the cost of Deshaun Watson's rookie season. On October 15th.

:(

I would like the link to that.... I've got a word or two for them :taz:

I'm joining you at the bipolar line, Uncle Rico. I feel hot 'n cold like the Katy Perry song whenever I think about the Houston Texans right now. Thank goodness the Houston Astros won the 2017 World Series. That's enough to satisfy me and make me happy for the foreseeable future. But I wish I had some more excitement in regards to the Texans. After 15 years it seems like we can never catch a break with this team.

I'm very unhappy at the moment .... Watson down , Savage in , Offense shut down , defense decimated by injuries .... no draft to look forward to other than hoping the Browns screw it up again .... limited help in free agency at positions of need for the team (LT) , Tricky Rick and OB will be back next year & the team still employs the same doctors as before .... I need a drink. :shots:

Me. But I thought the Sports Gods would just take away my penis. I never thought they would take my Watson!
