Anyone else watching the Redskins vs Colts?

I'm catching the highlights on NFLN and they look like a wreck. They are royally screwed if Manning misses any games that matter. I know that there is always a drop off from QB1 to QB2, but it's such a dramatic difference on that team that it's almost unreal. I don't even think that they have anyone else that can even manage the game in a basic offense. Their passes are just way off target and the guys just seem lost. Painter has been there for a while, so I'm surprised that they looked that bad with him under center. I know that their team normally loses preseason games and then turns it on week 1, but I just don't know if they'll be able to do it this year with Manning missing as much time as he has, especially with how important timing is to their passing game. Hopefully it will take them a while to shake the rust off, I'll take all of the help we can get.

I don't want to say anything because it could jinx everything.
 
That offense is not for any old qb. Precision, timing, the ability to make quick reads and decision making are even more important in that offense.

Obviously not a good fit for danO. I said it when they picked him up, but danO in that offense is an oxymoron.

I can't help but think that they picked him up to get more insight into how we do things here that can help them beat us. Backup or not, DanO knew our offensive playbook and that info is invaluable to a division opponent. Hopefully I'm wrong with my thought process.

You could be dead on accurate on that. Let's just hope that Manning stays out for a while and at least misses that 1st game.
 
I didn't see any of this contest, but let me just throw out 2 things:
(1) outside of maybe the third preseason game, we should remind ourselves that there isn't much of an indication what a teams regular season will be like based upon preseason performances, (2) 99% + of QBs who ever played the game was a major drop-off from PM.

Another thing to remember is that even with PM, the Colts normally do not perform well in preseason.

2010 - 0-4
2009 - 1-3
2008 - 1-4
2007 - 1-3
2006 - 1-3
2005 - 0-5
...

This is a club that doesn't mind looking horrible in the pre-season. They're working on things and trying to figure stuff out for the real season. Some of those losses up there are absolutely terrible games with wide margins and they don't even play well in the 3rd game so you can't use that as a gauge.

I'm just hoping that PM is rusty for game 1 but I'm not going to jump to any conclusions about how the Colts are going to play this year based off a couple of bad losses in the preseason.

If anything, he may screw them up...

You know, if Peyton doesn't play at least a few games and Dan O starts in his place, he may help the Texans get a compensatory pick. At the very least, he may offset Danieal Manning's signing. The Colts may help us get a 7th :D

To me, they have looked beatable for a while now. Sadly we haven't been able to do it, but I'm just not real high on them

Let's assume Manning doesn't play at all this season and the Colts end up with the top pick in next years draft. Do they take Luck?
