Does anyone ever notice that Peek is taking too many plays off. I caught a series yesterday where I noticed Peek not giving 100%. Then on the next few plays he did the same thing. It looked like he was tired, not just a contain assignment because he was actually trying to get to the QB.

Was he just getting dominated by an offensive lineman maybe? I only got to watch the first series of the game, when Warner got sacked twice. Had to go Christmas shopping with the wife...

Christmas shopping? What is that? Don't you mean Happy Holiday Shopping or Season's Greeting Shopping?:redtowel:

I was at the game yesterday. I had tickets right behind the Texans bench. There was a series (don't think TV caught it) where Peek was just intent on getting a 15 yd penalty. He kept badgering and bickering with an olineman for several plays in a row. Walker had to pull him off the guy, and lectered him. Capers than pulled him to the sidelines and gave him an earful. Then he was on the bench and during a TV timeout, Capers came over and gave him an even bigger earful, then Walker came over and chewed him out, then one of the D coaches came over and chewed him out, then another D coach came over and chewed him out. He was chewed on by everyone but the cheerleaders. He totally lost his composure on then field. He is a loose cannon.

Yep, it's been his way this season, bonehead penalties and a hot temper, could land him on the bench after the way Orr has played this season.

Yeah, if I had told my wife no, I wouldn't be here posting today, not only that I don't ecactly want her out shopping by herself this time of year. I haven't missed a game since day 1 until this season and I miss one of the only two wins.

I think Peek is just not as smart as the ROLB should be. He has the athletics but doesn't know how to use them properly. I don't see him being picked up next year.

I agree. Kind of sucks because he has the physical tools and that killer mentality, but he's got a crazy temper and apparently can't control it and commits bonehead penalties. I think he's a couple fries shourt of a happy meal myself. Wasn't it him who left his playbook in his vehicle and had it stolen? Can't remember. Anyways, I say put Orr and Babin on the outside for the rest of the season.

Feel sorry for the guy who stole it. 3 plays
Swing pass to Johnson
DD run right
DD run left
Boo for the playbook.:tomato:

Sorry about the last post I had to get it off my chest. But anyway, do you guys think he will be here next year?

Yes, if nothing else because he will be a restricted free agent so we can sign him to a one year tender for cheap, but I still like him and think he will keep getting better. Remember this is his first year to start.

Go easy on the kid. Peek suffers from TO disease. Million dollar body and a 5 cent brain. Maybe they ate lead paint in childhood.

Ha, that was good. But seriously, I dont see Peek staying. He does some really stupid stuff and he's not great in coverage.

Peek needs to be moved to DE.

Only if we switch to a 4-3, and even then I think he needs to gain 10-15 pounds to be a full-time DE.

I have a hunch that Peek will be moving to Oakland.
Too bad. We can use his passion and skill, just not his bone head plays.

Where is this hunch coming from? I do enjoy his passion and athleticism on defense and he does have a few boneheaded plays (those late hit calls in the Baltimore game were garbage calls) but at least they are out of hustle. This is his first year as a starter and I think he can be a pretty good LB. He doesn't have great coverage skills but for one I don't think we use him very well in coverage and also other LBs like Lawrence Taylor couldn't cover anyone either. I'm not saying Peek has Lawrence's skills but I think he should be used more like LT as a pass-rusher 80-90% of the time and let his athleticism and fury wreck opposing QBs.

As I posted before I think Peek and Orr will be back, both have shown some promise in their first season at playing starter's minutes and both are restricted free agents so we can resign both at low one-year tenders to keep them around for less money than it would cost to replace them, and at the end of next year if we decide not to keep them then we let them go into free agency, otherwise we sign them to long-term contracts.

Wonder if they got their point across, lol.

Blame it on the offensive line for not protecting him. :)

And Walker was all over Babin--patting his butt, dapping him multiple times, talking to him after plays, etc. Just pointing out Walker's judgment on Babin doesn't seen to be as bad as appropriate for the complete and utter bust, worst move of the franchise that some make Babin out to be. Now maybe Walker is right about both, right about neither, etc....just an observation.

I think Babin will be an upper level LB/DE when all is said and done. Not an elite one though and that means we gave to much for him. Not a wast or a bust, just to expensive to aquire.

I understand completely. I took my step daughter to the game. She goes to one every year. This way I can justify the costs of the season tickets. Look dear it's a family thing------LOL.
Nothing wrong with being a little p---- whooped!

That to is about my assessment of Babin. Not worth a 2, 3, & 4 (especially when you're picking in the top third of the Draft), but maybe the potential
to get a B grade when its all said and done. We'll see as his career unfolds.
