No. The deadline to designate franchise and transition players was Thursday, Feb, 23.

The tags are generally reserved for 'star' players whose contracts are due to expire, and the team wants to retain the player (most of the time) but the team and player haven't been able to come to agreement on a long term deal. The Texans really didn't have anyone who fit that category this year.

Anyone remember when the Cardinals took Calvin Pace with the 18th overall in '03? Not surprisingly, he's at the top of the soon to be released list.

Wow, 57 total tackles in 3 years. Ouch. Even bigger ouch--Larry Johnson taken at #27 and McGahee at #23 and the Cards are still looking for a running game.
 
Can't hold the injuries against Pace but I recall the raised eyebrows when he was selected - way earlier than expected. That may have even been a bigger reach than Babin.

The Cards justified the reach because they took sure thing Bryant Johnson right before Pace at 17. That one is going well too.

haha..now that's funny.....we have only 2 players on this team that might deserve that kind of money...Drob and AJ...and they are signed....so that would be a resounding NO!!!!!
 
Does anyone else find it interesting that DD is listed on that link as a possible cap casualty??? After resigning him last season on a hefty deal what is up with the speculation that we will cut him the very next off season?
 
If the cowboys cut larry allen, we should go after him!!!:superman: cowboys fans would absolutely hate that!!
