Another backup QB outperforms Carr

Not giving up on Carr over here. I've been frustrated at alot of his decisions this year, but not just him, everyone. I hope that the new coaching staff wil come in and FIX what has needed fixing for a HOT minute. Carr is gonna be alright. AND I'm hoping that we beat the 49ers next week - although that could turn into what looks like the WWE w/ one team throwing the game. Hope it's not us.

haha ok Kris Brown misses 2 field goals and the defense cant stop anybody, D-Robs worst game of his career. Yeah Carr over threw a few passes but in all reality he gave us a good chance to win, defense needs SERIOUS help IMO.

wow another week another Carr sucks thread from one of the biggest .... oh wait if I say that then Lucky might delete my post again .... so I'll just say

MERRY CHRISTMAS

well i guess Reggie bush would solve all our problems than :ok: <<< SARCASIM atleats AJ had a good game its nice to seem him take a long on in for the score again.

Carr threw to 2 deep TD passes. Damn he sucks.

he is good when given time, i mean the jags have a good D its just our coaches werent playing conservative i even say him looking off the safety on a few plays. If our coaches would let carr do that every week we would not be talking number 1 in the draft we'd be talking wild card. This is my first time to say this BUT "Capers and pendry need to go"

Carr played pretty well yesterday. Maybe one of his top 15 best games, but the bar really is not that high. We still need a renegotiated contract. 18 wins and below average statistical rank against his cohorts should not yield an automatic extension. If we do then it shows that we are not above stupidty as we will mortgaging our future for more of the same with an extension and Wade's and Greenwood's contracts rearing their ugly heads as cap hell.

Everyone is psyched about a new staff, GM and the #1. I still am very steadfast that the most important off season move is addressing the Carr contract.

and green wood is nothing special IMO i think that was one of the biggest offseason busts of this franchise so far. We shoulda kept sharper.

I went to NFL.com to check out the latest passer ratings.

http://www.nfl.com/stats/leaders/NFL/PRAT/2005/regular

It has Carr listed at 19 out of 30 which is nothing to write home about. There are a few "big name" QB that Carr is actually ahead of. He has a better passer rating than Collins, E. Manning, Vick, Cullpepper, and Favre.

Am I happy with Carr's performance? Not at all but I do believe that it has more to do with the coaching staff and his fear in the pocket due to being hit so much. I think a little more protection and a different scheme will do him wonders. He won't be in the top five. More in the 10-15 range I guess.

Gerrard will outperform Houston's franchise QB today and show why he would be a 3rd string QB on just about any other team.

I'm not a Texan fan and I thought Carr was good, but over-rated at Fresno State. But he's not your problem and his problems are more along the lines of you have one WR, one RB and no o-line or TE.

I would think that if you had a good #2 WR (not a #3/#4 WR pretending to be a #2), an o-line and a good TE (not the joke you have) Carr would be a very, very effective QB. Even if he doesn't make it to Manning status, he'd be a rock-solid guy that could win a Superbowl on a good team, like Brad Johnson.

I personally think that it is David Carr that is ruining the whole team. Not Dom Capers at all. The bottom line is we need a new QB because to me Mr. Carr just doesn't cut it.:yahoo:

Pft. Yeah it's all Carrs fault. That is pure ignorance.

A loser is a loser. Gerrard led his team to scores at critical points in the game while Carr crawled under a rock. He simply cannot make plays when it counts.

But I'm sure he's not at fault. Some of you guys need to get over the man-crush, he's a happily married man from what I understand.
Yeah, like hitting AJ on a 53 yarder in the 4th quarter to give us the lead... oh, its also his fault for missing those two fielg goals, and for allowing the Jags to score 38. They have the 4th ranked defense, 295 and 2 TD's is way more then what Manning got against them. The differance is that our defense still sucks. Maybe instead of complaining about Carr you would notice the 150 yds we gave up on the ground and 5 TD's we surrendured... but, that would conflict with your bash Carr ideal... hmmmm.

By the way, with all of his "bad decisions", he still has fewer picks then Manning, Brady, Delhome and Palmer. Yeah, he is the absolute worst QB in the NFL...

I'm a Carr supporter, but the only thing that upsets me about him is that he needs to be more of a vocal leader on this team. I like the way he has played the last couple of - games especially the last 2 weeks. Hopefully the new coaching staff that comes in will get him right, as well as the team as a whole.

The only thing Carr has done was score 24 points by correctly utilizing the weapons he has. The only thing the coaches have done is not let Carr do this every game... Carr showed he has the ability during that game.

• Megan Manfull of the Houston Chronicle reported that in the first half of the Texans-Cardinals game two weeks ago, David Carr was given the green light to call his own plays; the result was a 24-point half for a team that averages 16 points per game. In the second half, Houston coaches took over the playcalling; the result was six points. So naturally Houston learned its lesson and let Carr call his own plays this weekend, right? Coaches called the plays for the Moo Cows, Manfull reports. Houston scored 20 points, about its average.

This is why we need new coaches. Give us a coaching staff with the nuts to give our offense "he green light" and we will see some football.. The bad thing is Carr has had 4 years of bad coaching and now we will hopefully get what we want and Carr will NOW have to develop into the superstar... so he will now be at somewhat ground zero even though he has 4 years of experience.. it will take a couple more to develop now that he can play some real football and not some baby-sitting bull that we have been seeing..

this is of course we get the good coaching staff.

Carr just can not read the QB's, I mean how can a 3rd string QB light him up like that? He should have read the plays better and jumped on the ball a little sooner. I swear he can't tackle either. All he has to do us wrap up the player and bring him down. If I see him get pancaked one more time I'm gonna march down on the field and yank the panties right off his little hiney. He get's burned more than P-Buc. He has no vision for the ball.
