Could the Texans take Gardner at #3. I'm almost certain he will be available. It's not a reach, he's the top prospect at one of the premier positions in football. Will they? Usually OTs and edge rushers go first. Usually.

Interesting comment in there...they would like to trade one of their firsts out of the first round altogether and save millions.
You can bet Carstereo will be mindful of this also.
Could mean he may do this with one of our firsts.
Moving it to next year's first defeats the purpose, so would he be contemplating taking a second and a nice piece already in the NFL?

It’s a situation where he fills a high need position and would not be available at 37. Positional value of guard says its a reach. But talent he belongs in that slot. Could also be a trade down target if a team like Pitt trades up to get a QB just outside the top 10.

Would Panthers trade 1.6 [1600] and 2023 round 1 for 1.3? Using point system as a guide that would be similar to 1.3 and 2.38 if their placing didn't change next year.
Some say they could wait and trade with NYJ or NYG but if Seattle or Falcons decide to trade with Texans the wait could be devastating. I'm hoping Detroit does go Malik at 2 putting more pressure on Teams needing QB.

If Malik goes 2 then there could be a run on QB. I think the Panthers are hoping to stay put at 6 and get their QB. But I could see (hope) teams jockeying for position ahead of them.
Putting the Texans in prime position to take advantage of a QB needy team (Falcons? Seahawks?) willing to part with some extra day 2 top 100 picks.
If we can’t trade down from three I hope he’s our pick. Don't see how you pass him up. Don’t understand why there isn’t talk about him being #1. Dream draft would be to trade down and still draft Gardener. I’ve always been a build through the trenches guy but have a feeling the “patriot way” is going to take us in a differ direction.
It is a passing league now so I wouldn’t hate rebuilding our secondary. Gardener, Booth and McDuffie I would be happy with any of them.

I’ve never seen a CB with Sauce immense traits, length, burst both short area 2nd gear and ball skills. He studies film and understands schematics. Never given up a TD as a freshman, sophomore or Junior and Cincinnati was ranked #4 in the country playing against likes of Alabama. Jamison Williams couldn’t do squat against him, tackled him so hard in the open field, surprised he got up. The problem is, he’s risen so fast and people just don’t know much about him.
Might be high, but it looks like Zion has surpassed Linderbaum as #1 interior lineman.

But do Panthers' Tepper stand pat knowing Falcons Blank possibly had out bid Carolina for DW? Would Falcons offer 1.8 +2.43 +2.58 + AJ Terrell for 1.3 and 1.13?
Would Tepper stand pat knowing Malik Willis gone at 2 and Seattle hopefully willing to give 9 +40 +41 for 3?

I have Ahmad Sauce Gardner as best player in draft and fortunately he could slide due to other teams selections. 1 Jags still need RT after tagging their LT so take Neal. 2 Detroit Hutch from Michigan. I will be surprised if Willis taken. 3. trade down and get Sauce 4. Jets Thibodeaux 5. NYG Ekwonu 6. Panthers trade up or BQBA 7. NYG Cross as they need OG and RT 8. ATL trades up or hopes 2nd best QB there. 9 Sauce could be taken here by Seattle.

But the talent this year at edge, dt, cb wr, ot is deep. We need OG, and this position is not deep. I favor stockpiling picks next year when necessary, but we need to capitalize on this years deep draft.
Well, if we drafted Ickey at 3, and played him at LG, he might just end up a GOAT himself ! I fear the guy on his left shoulder will need more than a little help, for more than what has now become more than just a few years !

Lets talk RBs. Who do you see as the best scheme fit for a gap blocking scheme?
I have 3 RBs on my shopping list when the Texans are on the clock in the 4th round. Hope one is available:
1) Dameon Pierce
2) Zamir White
3) Hassan Haskins
All of these RBs run angry and will help the offense impose its will as a physical smash mouth running team.

That’s not good.
If HOU can trade back to say 6 or 8 I think they could still get Sauce and get another 2nd out of it, and then slip back up into he 1st and steal Christian Watson.
I’d like to get Gardner, Penning or Cross, and Watson with the 1st 3 picks regardless of where.
Caserio got to be aggressive in this draft to me.
This would be a steal if Caserio was able to land these 3 players.

I now don’t think with KC having 2 1’s and GB having 2 1’s albeit in the back of the 1st, that HOU can just assume there’s going to be elite WRs in the 2nd. Both desperately need a new WR. Hell, GB needs 2 WR’s. And PHIL have 3 1’s to play with too.
Olave, Wilson, Dotson and Williams are all really good but they are all undersized. Somebody’s got to fall though….

Love me some Skyy Moore. I've got him under heavy consideration at #37. After seeing what Amendola did against the Titans, Mills new best friend would be Moore in the Slot. Although I think Moore can play outside too. That kind of versatility is invaluable.

Looking at GBN Big Board (Great Blue North) updated this week. They have Malik Willis at #14 and Kenny Pickett at #16.
Both of the Texans picks at #3 and #13 may be in play for a trade by a team needing a QB.
Also has Travon Walker at #2 and Sauce Gardner at #5.
If Texans trade down, Jordan Davis may still be in play at #8.
The OG, Kenyon Green, I've targeted all along has fallen to #27, which works in my favor for trading down.
Quite a shakeup is occurring on the boards following the combine and the on going pro days.

Every year we see the same thing - players rise up big boards based on sheer athleticism in the NFLs pyjama Olympics.
The big boards are carefully calculated prior to the combine based on tape, and ultimately, that is all that truly matters.
In a perfect world.
Every team does everything different. Players are conformed to coaching & scheme.
The underwear olympics allow scouts to objectively evaluate talent in a controlled environment.
I think weight is warranted, but agree some times too much.
I think the biggest thing about the combine/pro days are the medicals and face to face meetings. Also shows who you may want to watch more film of. Way too much emphasis put on 40 times
Man I hope Caserio can trade down and pickup a late 1st and another 2nd. The thought of adding Green and Salyer, plus Moore would be a homerun. IMHO

We could get all three of these, plus whoever drops, Walker, Davis or Gardner. As long as we don't trade out of the top 10, at least one of these three will likely be available.
You better not drop below #8 if you want 1 of those three.
i'm talking more along the lines of trading down from #13. Think QB's should be in play for trade ups from QB needy teams like the Steelers/Saints etc...

I like Moore too. Slot guy.
I like Watson because he’s an outside mismatch and can blaze. I want HOU with as many physical, offensive mismatch nightmares as it can get.
Id like to see HOU go heavy on offense and give Mills every single chance to be the guy and if he’s not, the offense is elite for the new QB.

Trade out of 13. I think 13 is more where teams are going to be looking for that QB anyways. I just don’t see any of these guys going any higher than 6 and that’s only cause Matt Rhule is on the hot seat.
Exactly, give Mills as many weapons as possible.
You really cant go wrong with either Watson or Moore, even though they are really different types of WR's. If you draft Watson then you're committed to playing Cooks in the slot more often. I would also look at drafting a slot WR Jones or Phillips in the 4th/5th rd.

Scheme will likely dictate who they take - unless someone is on the board they consider a game changer.
