Aldon Smith VS Kerrigan

Kerrigan is white and white guys can't rush.... or jump.

And he didnt break his leg .....

I'd take Kerrigan over Smith any day.

Kerrigan was the best player on what wasnt a really good defense , teams schemed to take him out of the game and he still produced. Cant say the same about Smith ....

So you guys think he's a 1st instead of a 2nd? Dam how times have changed.

Can't wait till tomorrw nite!

I wouldnt have a problem with taking him at 11. And yes he will be a first round pick. I just hope if we dont pick him he goes outside our division. The guy is a playmaker.

With our luck Kerrigan ends up in Jacksonville. He seems like a good fit there.

I agree, I don't understand it. Kerrigan is just bigger, faster, and stronger which better on field production. Unless someone falls to us, I would make Kerrigan the pick.

I think it all comes down to potential. Some say that Kerrigan makes up for "ordinary physical tools" with hustle, while Smith has alot of untapped potential and upside.

I am well over the "untapped potential" BS.

I would agree here. I am not that high on a one year wonder. But at the same time I am not that high on Kerrigan to the Texans. I am really hoping that the Texans walk away with either PP or Quinn.

I think it is similar to evaluating JJ Watt vs Cam Jordan; both will probably be good players & it just comes down to personal likes and how the individual projects the skills of the player. I'm a fan of Watt but would be ok with Jordan. I prefer Smith (if Texans Doctor says fibula is healed)but Kerrigan would be ok. I think Smith transitions to OLB better & I like his arms.

If I could get past the tumor, I'd take Robert Quinn if there. There are some pretty good OLBs in second round or later such as Acho, Moch, Mason Foster or Bruce Carter.

It could not have been a much better draft as it worked out. Watt will be a solid duplicate of Mario, maybe not as quick but as effective. Mario will play some oLB and could generate many sacks in this 52. We got the OLB in Reed I did not expect to be there & I was hoping to get Acho in 3rd. Harris in a brilliant move up lands us a starter at eihefr #2 CB or nickle and Carmichel could be a steal. It is possible Keo could start at SS. I remain amazed.

So you think Watt averages 8-9 sacks annually ?
I am looking for around 6 because the new 52 will focus on linebackers getting the sacks not the DEs. I think Watt will increase his strength and will bang the Oline to help tie up the blockers allowing LBs and the DBs to disrupt the QB. Do not overlook the possibility of increased blitzing from DBs that we really have not seen before.

8-9 sacks is a lot to expect from a 3-4 DE. I expect around 5 a year for the next 10 years from Watt, with a couple years with higher totals in there.

5-6 sacks, 5-6 pass deflections, a couple forced fumbles or interceptions, several TFLs. I think he'll do well, but I don't expect close to double digit sack totals consistently. I think he'll definitely impact in a lot of areas of the game though.

You know I think this is one more reason we all love the draft so much because it represents one more major feature to the upcoming season, which is finding out how all of these guys we drafted do and also see how the players we had a chance to draft but passed on turn out ? Of course their careers just begin their rookie season in the league, but we get a pretty good preview about how they are going to turn out that first year ?
Between Watt and other guys we were interested in using our first round pick on like Robert Quinn & Nick Fairly, I honestly don't have a clue who's gonna be the real deal ? I'm just speculating here ?
