AFC South on eve of Free Agency

As we go into free agency and the lead up to the draft, the eternal question remains: Fix needs or build from strength? Here's my quick breakdown of how the AFC South teams stack up on offense and defense.

Throwing
1. Colts
2. Titans (w/McNair starter)
3. Texans
4. Jaguars
4.5. Titans (w/Volek starter)

Running
1. Colts
2. Titans (with McNair)
3. Texans
3.5 Titans (without McNair, Brown won't have the same production with defenses looking mainly at him)
4. Jaguars (haven't been sold on Taylor for some time)

Receiving
1. Colts
2. Texans
3. Titans
4. Jaguars

Blocking
1. Colts
2. Titans
3. Jaguars
4. Texans

Run-stopping
1. Jaguars
2. Texans (scary thought, but ...)
3. Titans (... even worse)
4. Colts

Pass-rushing
1. Colts
2. Titans
3. Texans (w/Peek + Babin)
4. Jaguars
4.5 Texans (w/Wong + Babin)

Coverage
1. Texans (NFL top 5 secondary, maybe top 3)
2. None
3. Jaguars (unless they land S.Rolle, in which case they can trade spots with "None")
4. (tie) Colts + Titans (Colts minus Harper and Bashir? Titans minus S.Rolle and Schulters? No cap room for FA replacements?)

Thoughts?

I'd say we are 2nd.Titans with either McNair or Volek(you are seriously underrating him :) ) are 3rd and Byron Sandwich and the Jags are 4th.

Dominic Rhodes ahead of Taylor and DD?? Unless you for some reason included Edge in the mix as he hasnt been cut/traded yet(hasnt been signed either), the Colts are easily at BEST 3rd. I think its Jax, Tex, Ten, Indy.

Agreed. Perhaps TEN, JAX are 3a/3b though.

4. Texans

Agreed.

I dont exactly know if Hall-Haynesworth-Carter is worse than...Walker - ??? - Sears.

Pass-rushing
1. Colts

4. Jaguars
4.5 Texans (w/Wong + Babin)

Well, Edge has been franchised, and I think they intend to keep him. He may not be happy about it, but in the end I think chances are above 90% that Edge plays for the Colts next year.

Carter on the other hand, has been officially cut from the Titans roster. Yes, it is rumored he'll be back, but I decided not to assume that as he is officially a free agent with no tags.

please never evaluate talent again.

kthxbye.
