Wow, thats somewhat harsh. He won the Jim Thorpe Award for best defensive back and he isnt any better than a third rounder or possible second day pic. Well he will be gone by the mid second at the latest rather you like him or not. Very little ball skills, I didnt know that 6 interceptions, 19 pass breakups, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fuble recoveries were poor ball skills. And why would he return 76 punts over his career if his ball skills are so poor.
He isnt exactly small either 6'0 192 is good size for a cornerback.
Aaron Ross comes from a program with a great history of producing defensive backs and was taught by a coach who has an amazing track record with DBs as well.
He isnt perfect, and does take some chances and gets burned for them, but he also makes plays. You have to have confidence in your abilities to be a successful DB and he certainly does.
He would be a solid pickup, paired with a FS in one form or another our defense wont not only be stout it will be able to force turnovers..... short fields.... more points.
