Many experts rated him as a 3rd round pick, but they way he is playing right now; his stock is rising. Depending who we take in the 1st, if he is still on the board in the 2nd I would have to consider looking at him there. What do you think?
LORK 88 said:Speaking of UT CBs, Aaron Ross looked pretty good. He's fast, and multidimensional (returned Kicks and Punts as well). What caught my attention is that he'd line up 3-4 yards off the receiver and wouldn't get beat deep. As potential problems, I could see his confidence being a bit of a problem when he gets to the NFL underestimating some WRs. I could also see his agressive play getting the best of him as he had a few instances when I thought pass interference could be called on him for having a slap war with WRs down the field.

Yeah, Ross is really playing well. Truth is, he's played well every year, but this is his first year to start b/c of the depth that Texas has at DB.
Ross may still be there in the 2nd and if he is, he would be a great pick IMO. He could be another D. Ryans type scenario...a potential 1st rounder that slips to the 2nd.
The way I see it, either Ross or Griffin should be there in the 2nd round. Texans should take a CB and FS in the 1st and 2nd. If we take Landry in the 1st, then hope Ross slips to the 2nd....if we take Leon Hall or another CB in the 1st, hope Griffin is available in the 2nd.![]()
i'd rather have hughes then hall, but there both good players, but if we could get ross or griffin in the 2nd i'd be a happy person, and with are 5th round choice, get Dwight Landry from San Jose State, or a shut down corner in the 1-AA in college, seems like CB's from the 1-AA come to the NFL and do pretty good, like mathis and the kid from the colts, but i'll support the texans picks no matter who they are
Dwight Lowery has something like 8 interceptions on the season. Seems like a 4th or 5th rounder. San Jose St. isn't a bad team this year...I say if they keep up the good year he goes in the 4th.
This is Ross' first year as the primary starter, but he's started games before this year, and has played in just about every game since his freshman year...FWIW..
Not true.
He was academically ineligible his fr. & soph. years.

Yeah, I guess you're right...
Well I know for a fact that he was ineligible for 2 years.
If he has played 4 then I guess he is has been at Texas for 6 and is just 2 years older than everyone else.
PERSONAL
Born 9/15/82 in San Antonio full name is Aaron Jermaine Ross also has lived in Chandler, Texas majoring in education active in UTs community service program served as a summer camp counselor during high school (Camp Tyler Summer Camp) enjoys playing video games in his spare time.
You may be right, but before you say I'm wrong you should do your research...
Your right. I shouldnt have said you were wrong.
But I was positive that he was ineligible for 2 years.
If he is 24 then it is most likely that this is his 6th year in college.
I like Ross' upside, and I'm a neutral when it comes to UT, but here's a question. Between him, Griffin, and Tarrell Brown, who was more highly rated than Ross coming into the season, you'd think they'd be pretty good against the pass. So how do you explain the fact that UT is ranked 108th in passing defense and 78th in passing efficiency defense. Is it a case of teams passing more after falling behind and UT playing prevent? Is it scheme?
Their starters were playing but they weren't playing at full strength.I was thinking of that (injuries), but they had their first string against K State, Nebraska, and Tech all of whom lit them up.
